The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst) clearly says: It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers. Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make headers self-contained. Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header: void foo(bd_t *bd); This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined. To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h> #include <asm/u-boot.h> void foo(bd_t *bd); Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly. If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward declaration as follows: struct bd_info; void foo(struct bd_info *bd); Right, typedef'ing bd_t is a mistake. I used coccinelle to generate this commit. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: <smpl> @@ typedef bd_t; @@ -bd_t +struct bd_info </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org> |

U-Boot for Wandboard -------------------- This file contains information for the port of U-Boot to the Wandboard. Wandboard is a development board that has three variants based on the following SoCs: mx6 quad, mx6 quad plus, mx6 dual lite and mx6 solo. For more details about Wandboard, please refer to: http://www.wandboard.org/ Building U-Boot for Wandboard ----------------------------- To build U-Boot for the Wandboard: $ make wandboard_config $ make Flashing U-Boot into the SD card -------------------------------- - After the 'make' command completes, the generated 'SPL' binary must be flashed into the SD card; $ sudo dd if=SPL of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1k seek=1; sync (Note - the SD card node may vary, so adjust this as needed). - Flash the u-boot.img image into the SD card: sudo dd if=u-boot-dtb.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1k seek=69; sync - Insert the SD card into the slot located in the bottom of the board (same side as the mx6 processor) - Connect the serial cable to the host PC - Power up the board and U-Boot messages will appear in the serial console. Debug UART ---------- The following settings provide a debug UART for the Wandboard: CONFIG_DEBUG_UART=y CONFIG_DEBUG_UART_MXC=y CONFIG_DEBUG_UART_BASE=0x02020000 CONFIG_DEBUG_UART_CLOCK=80000000
