Commita257e02579("arm64/kernel: don't ban ADRP to work around Cortex-A53 erratum #843419") introduced a function whose name ends with "_veneer". This clashes with commitbd8b22d288("Kbuild: kallsyms: ignore veneers emitted by the ARM linker"), which removes symbols ending in "_veneer" from kallsyms. The problem was manifested as 'perf test -vvvvv vmlinux' failed, correctly claiming the symbol 'module_emit_adrp_veneer' was present in vmlinux, but not in kallsyms. ... ERR : 0xffff00000809aa58: module_emit_adrp_veneer not on kallsyms ... test child finished with -1 ---- end ---- vmlinux symtab matches kallsyms: FAILED! Fix the problem by renaming module_emit_adrp_veneer to module_emit_veneer_for_adrp. Now the test passes. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
