Cross timestamping is supported on Integrated Ethernet Controller in
Intel SoC such as EHL and TGL with Always Running Timer.
The hardware cross-timestamp result is made available to
applications through the PTP_SYS_OFFSET_PRECISE ioctl which calls
stmmac_getcrosststamp().
Device time is stored in the MAC Auxiliary register. The 64-bit System
time (ART timestamp) is stored in registers that are only addressable
by using MDIO space.

Simplify 32-bit and 64-bit Intel SoCFPGA Kconfig options by having only
one for both of them. This the common practice for other platforms.
Additionally, the ARCH_SOCFPGA is too generic as SoCFPGA designs come
from multiple vendors.

MTU cannot be changed on dwmac-sun8i. (ip link set eth0 mtu xxx returning EINVAL)
This is due to tx_fifo_size being 0, since this value is used to compute valid
MTU range.
Like dwmac-sunxi (with commit 806fd188ce ("net: stmmac: dwmac-sunxi: Provide TX and RX fifo sizes"))
dwmac-sun8i need to have tx and rx fifo sizes set.
I have used values from datasheets.
After this patch, setting a non-default MTU (like 1000) value works and network is still useable.

Intel mGbE variant implemented in EHL and TGL can be set to select
different clock frequency based on GPO bits in MAC_GPIO_STATUS register.
We introduce a new "void (*ptp_clk_freq_config)(void *priv)" in platform
data so that if a platform is required to configure the frequency of clock
source, in this case Intel mGBE does, the platform-specific configuration
of the PTP clock setting is done when stmmac_ptp_register() is called.

1) Constant Gate Control Error (CGCE):
The counter "mtl_est_cgce" increases everytime CGCE interrupt is
triggered.
2) Head-of-Line Blocking due to Scheduling (HLBS):
The counter "mtl_est_hlbs" increases everytime HLBS interrupt is
triggered.
3) Head-of-Line Blocking due to Frame Size (HLBF):
The counter "mtl_est_hlbf" increases everytime HLBF interrupt is
triggered.
4) Base Time Register error (BTRE):
The counter "mtl_est_btre" increases everytime BTRE interrupt is
triggered but BTRL not reaches maximum value of 15.
5) Base Time Register Error Loop Count (BTRL) reaches maximum value:
The counter "mtl_est_btrlm" increases everytime BTRE interrupt is
triggered and BTRL value reaches maximum value of 15.

Enabled EST related interrupts as below:
1) Constant Gate Control Error (CGCE)
2) Head-of-Line Blocking due to Scheduling (HLBS)
3) Head-of-Line Blocking due to Frame Size (HLBF).
4) Base Time Register error (BTRE)
5) Switch to S/W owned list Complete (SWLC)
For HLBS, the user will get the info of all the queues that shows this
error. For HLBF, the user will get the info of all the queue with the
latest frame size which causes the error. Frame size 0 indicates no
error.
The ISR handling takes place when EST feature is enabled by user.

We extend tc flower to support configuration of VLAN priority-based RX
frame steering hardware offloading.
To map VLAN <PCP> to Traffic Class <TC>:

The current tc_add_flow() and tc_del_flow() use hardware L3 & L4 filters
as offloading. The number of L3/L4 filters is read from L3L4FNUM field
from MAC_HW_Feature1 register and is used to alloc priv->tc_entries[].
For RX frame steering based on VLAN priority offloading, we use
MAC_RXQ_CTRL2 & MAC_RXQ_CTRL3 registers and all VLAN priority level
can be configured independent from L3 & L4 filters.

This patch intends to add clocks management for stmmac driver:
If CONFIG_PM enabled:
1. Keep clocks disabled after driver probed.
2. Enable clocks when up the net device, and disable clocks when down
the net device.
If CONFIG_PM disabled:
Keep clocks always enabled after driver probed.
Note:
1. It is fine for ethtool, since the way of implementing ethtool_ops::begin
in stmmac is only can be accessed when interface is enabled, so the clocks
are ticked.
2. The MDIO bus has a different life cycle to the MAC, need ensure
clocks are enabled when _mdio_read/write() need clocks, because these
functions can be called while the interface it not opened.

Intel mGbE controller such as those in EHL & TGL uses pcs-xpcs driver for
SGMII interface. To ensure mdio bus scanning does not assign phy_device
to MDIO-addressable entities like intel serdes and pcs-xpcs, we set up
to phy_mask to skip them.

Not all platform uses DT, so phylink_parse_mode() will skip in-band setup
of pl->supported and pl->link_config.advertising entirely. So, we add the
setting of ovr_an_inband flag to make it works for non-DT platform.

Commit eaf4fac478 ("net: stmmac: Do not accept invalid MTU values")
started using the TX FIFO size to verify what counts as a valid MTU
request for the stmmac driver. This is unset for the ipq806x variant.
Looking at older patches for this it seems the RX + TXs buffers can be
up to 8k, so set appropriately.
(I sent this as an RFC patch in June last year, but received no replies.
I've been running with this on my hardware (a MikroTik RB3011) since
then with larger MTUs to support both the internal qca8k switch and
VLANs with no problems. Without the patch it's impossible to set the
larger MTU required to support this.)

During suspend/resume stress test, we found descriptor write back by DMA
could exhibit unusual behavior, e.g.:
003 [0xc4310030]: 0x0 0x40 0x0 0xb5010040
We can see that desc3 write back is 0xb5010040, it is still ownd by DMA,
so application would not recycle this buffer. It will trigger fatal bus
error when DMA try to use this descriptor again. To fix this issue, we
should re-init all rx buffers when mac resume back.

In current driver, buffer2 available only when hardware supports split
header. Wrongly set buffer2 valid in stmmac_rx_refill when refill buffer
address. You can see that desc3 is 0x81000000 after initialization, but
turn out to be 0x83000000 after refill.

Driver uses dma_alloc_coherent to allocate dma memory for descriptors,
dma_alloc_coherent will return both the virtual address and physical
address. AFAIK, virt_to_phys could not convert virtual address to
physical address, for which memory is allocated by dma_alloc_coherent.
dwmac4_display_ring() function is broken for various descriptor, it only
support normal descriptor(struct dma_desc) now, this patch also extends to
support all descriptor types.

stmmac_xmit() call stmmac_tx_timer_arm() at the end to modify tx timer to
do the transmission cleanup work. Imagine such a situation, stmmac enters
suspend immediately after tx timer modified, it's expire callback
stmmac_tx_clean() would not be invoked. This could affect BQL, since
netdev_tx_sent_queue() has been called, but netdev_tx_completed_queue()
have not been involved, as a result, dql_avail(&dev_queue->dql) finally
always return a negative value.

When link speed is not 100 Mbps, port transmit rate and speed divider
are set to 8 and 1000000 respectively. These values are incorrect for
CBS idleslope and sendslope HW values calculation if the link speed is
not 1 Gbps.
This patch adds switch statement to set the values of port transmit rate
and speed divider for 10 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, and 100 Mbps.
Note that CBS is not supported at 10 Mbps.

The Ethernet MAC and PHY are usually major consumers of power on boards
which may not be able to fully power off (those with no PMIC). Powering
down the MAC and internal PHY saves power while these boards are "off".

When disable CBS, mode_to_use parameter is not updated even the operation
mode of Tx Queue is changed to Data Centre Bridging (DCB). Therefore,
when tc_setup_cbs() function is called to re-enable CBS, the operation
mode of Tx Queue remains at DCB, which causing CBS fails to work.
This patch updates the value of mode_to_use parameter to MTL_QUEUE_DCB
after operation mode of Tx Queue is changed to DCB in stmmac_dma_qmode()
callback function.

When has_prg_eth1_rgmii_rx_delay is true then we support RX delays
between 0ps and 3000ps in 200ps steps. Swap the validation of the RX
delay based on the has_prg_eth1_rgmii_rx_delay flag so the 200ps check
is now applied correctly on G12A SoCs (instead of only allow 0ps or
2000ps on G12A, but 0..3000ps in 200ps steps on older SoCs which don't
support that).

The Synopsys TSN MAC supports Qbv base times in the past, but only up to a
certain limit. As a result, a taprio qdisc configuration with a small
base time (for example when treating the base time as a simple phase
offset) is not applied by the hardware and silently ignored.
This was observed on an NXP i.MX8MPlus device, but likely affects all
TSN-variants of the MAC.
Fix the issue by making sure the base time is in the future, pushing it by
an integer amount of cycle times if needed. (a similar check is already
done in several other taprio implementations, see for example
drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igc/igc_tsn.c#L116 or
drivers/net/dsa/sja1105/sja1105_ptp.h#L39).

When configuring a 802.1Qbv schedule through the tc taprio qdisc on an NXP
i.MX8MPlus device, the effective cycle time differed from the requested one
by N*96ns, with N number of entries in the Qbv Gate Control List. This is
because the driver was adding a 96ns margin to each interval of the GCL,
apparently to account for the IPG. The problem was observed on NXP
i.MX8MPlus devices but likely affected all devices relying on the same
configuration callback (dwmac 4.00, 4.10, 5.10 variants).
Fix the issue by removing the margins, and simply setup the MAC with the
provided cycle time value. This is the behavior expected by the user-space
API, as altering the Qbv schedule timings would break standards conformance.
This is also the behavior of several other Ethernet MAC implementations
supporting taprio, including the dwxgmac variant of stmmac.

Since the original mtu is not used when the mtu is updated,
the mtu is aligned with cache, this will get an incorrect.
For example, if you want to configure the mtu to be 1500,
but mtu 1536 is configured in fact.

Use of __napi_schedule_irqoff() is not safe with PREEMPT_RT in which
hard interrupts are not disabled while running the threaded interrupt.
Using __napi_schedule() works for both PREEMPT_RT and mainline Linux,
just at the cost of an additional check if interrupts are disabled for
mainline (since they are already disabled).
Similar to the fix done for enetc commit 215602a8d2 ("enetc: use
napi_schedule to be compatible with PREEMPT_RT")

Amlogic Meson G12A (and newer: G12B, SM1) SoCs have a more advanced RX
delay logic. Instead of fine-tuning the delay in the nanoseconds range
it now allows tuning in 200 picosecond steps. This support comes with
new bits in the PRG_ETH1[19:16] register.
Add support for validating the RGMII RX delay as well as configuring the
register accordingly on these platforms.

Newer SoCs starting with the Amlogic Meson G12A have more a precise
RGMII RX delay configuration register. This means more complexity in the
code. Extract the existing RGMII delay configuration code into a
separate function to make it easier to read/understand even when adding
more logic in the future.

Amlogic Meson G12A, G12B and SM1 SoCs have a more advanced RGMII RX
delay register which allows picoseconds precision. Parse the new
"rx-internal-delay-ps" property or fall back to the value from the old
"amlogic,rx-delay-ns" property.
No upstream DTB uses the old "amlogic,rx-delay-ns" property (yet).
Only include minimalistic logic to fall back to the old property,
without any special validation (for example if the old and new
property are given at the same time).

The timing-adjustment clock only has to be enabled when a) there is a
2ns RX delay configured using device-tree and b) the phy-mode indicates
that the RX delay should be enabled.
Only enable the RX delay if both are true, instead of (by accident) also
enabling it when there's the 2ns RX delay configured but the phy-mode
incicates that the RX delay is not used.

Previously, sun8i_dwmac_set_syscon was called from a chain of functions
in several different files:
sun8i_dwmac_probe
stmmac_dvr_probe
stmmac_hw_init
stmmac_hwif_init
sun8i_dwmac_setup
sun8i_dwmac_set_syscon
which made the lifetime of the syscon values hard to reason about. Part
of the problem is that there is no similar platform driver callback from
stmmac_dvr_remove. As a result, the driver unset the syscon value in
sun8i_dwmac_exit, but this leaves it uninitialized after a suspend/
resume cycle. It was also unset a second time (outside sun8i_dwmac_exit)
in the probe error path.
Move the init to the earliest available place in sun8i_dwmac_probe
(after stmmac_probe_config_dt, which initializes plat_dat), and the
deinit to the corresponding position in the cleanup order.
Since priv is not filled in until stmmac_dvr_probe, this requires
changing the sun8i_dwmac_set_syscon parameters to priv's two relevant
members.

sun8i_dwmac_exit calls sun8i_dwmac_unpower_internal_phy, but
sun8i_dwmac_init did not call sun8i_dwmac_power_internal_phy. This
caused PHY power to remain off after a suspend/resume cycle. Fix this by
recording if PHY power should be restored, and if so, restoring it.

While stmmac_pltfr_remove calls sun8i_dwmac_exit, the sun8i_dwmac_init
and sun8i_dwmac_exit functions are also called by the stmmac_platform
suspend/resume callbacks. They may be called many times during the
device's lifetime and should not release resources used by the driver.
Furthermore, there was no error handling in case registering the MDIO
mux failed during probe, and the EPHY clock was never released at all.
Fix all of these issues by moving the deinitialization code to a driver
removal callback. Also ensure the EPHY is powered down before removal.

stmmac_pltfr_remove does three things in one function, making it
inapproprate for unwinding the steps in the probe function. Currently,
a failure before the call to stmmac_dvr_probe would leak OF node
references due to missing a call to stmmac_remove_config_dt. And an
error in stmmac_dvr_probe would cause the driver to attempt to remove a
netdevice that was never added. Fix these by reordering the init and
splitting out the error handling steps.

The dwmac glue registers on Amlogic Meson8b and newer SoCs has two clock
inputs:
- Meson8b and Meson8m2: MPLL2 and MPLL2 (the same parent is wired to
both inputs)
- GXBB, GXL, GXM, AXG, G12A, G12B, SM1: FCLK_DIV2 and MPLL2
All known vendor kernels and u-boots are using the first input only. We
let the common clock framework automatically choose the "right" parent.
For some boards this causes a problem though, specificially with G12A and
newer SoCs. The clock input is used for generating the 125MHz RGMII TX
clock. For the two input clocks this means on G12A:
- FCLK_DIV2: 999999985Hz / 8 = 124999998.125Hz
- MPLL2: 499999993Hz / 4 = 124999998.25Hz
In theory MPLL2 is the "better" clock input because it's gets us 0.125Hz
closer to the requested frequency than FCLK_DIV2. In reality however
there is a resource conflict because MPLL2 is needed to generate some of
the audio clocks. dwmac-meson8b probes first and sets up the clock tree
with MPLL2. This works fine until the audio driver comes and "steals"
the MPLL2 clocks and configures it with it's own rate (294909637Hz). The
common clock framework happily changes the MPLL2 rate but does not
reconfigure our RGMII TX clock tree, which then ends up at 73727409Hz,
which is more than 40% off the requested 125MHz.
Don't use the second clock input for now to force the common clock
framework to always select the first parent. This mimics the behavior
from the vendor driver and fixes the clock resource conflict with the
audio driver on G12A boards. Once the common clock framework can handle
this situation this change can be reverted again.

The current IP register MAC_HW_Feature1[ADDR64] only defines
32/40/64 bit width, but some SOCs support others like i.MX8MP
support 34 bits but it maps to 40 bits width in MAC_HW_Feature1[ADDR64].
So overwrite dma_cap.addr64 according to HW real design.

There have chance to re-enable the eee_ctrl_timer and fire the timer
in napi callback after delete the timer in .stmmac_release(), which
introduces to access eee registers in the timer function after clocks
are disabled then causes system hang. Found this issue when do
suspend/resume and reboot stress test.
It is safe to delete the timer after napi disabled and disable lpi mode.

Start phylink instance and resume back the PHY to supply
RX clock to MAC before MAC layer initialization by calling
.stmmac_hw_setup(), since DMA reset depends on the RX clock,
otherwise DMA reset cost maximum timeout value then finally
timeout.

The m250_sel mux clock uses bit 4 in the PRG_ETH0 register. Fix this by
shifting the PRG_ETH0_CLK_M250_SEL_MASK accordingly as the "mask" in
struct clk_mux expects the mask relative to the "shift" field in the
same struct.
While here, get rid of the PRG_ETH0_CLK_M250_SEL_SHIFT macro and use
__ffs() to determine it from the existing PRG_ETH0_CLK_M250_SEL_MASK
macro.

This driver uses a normal timer for TX coalescing, which means that the
with the default tx-usecs of 1000 microseconds the cleanups actually
happen 10 ms or more later with HZ=100. This leads to very low
througput with TCP when bridged to a slow link such as a 4G modem. Fix
this by using an hrtimer instead.
On my ARM platform with HZ=100 and the default TX coalescing settings
(tx-frames 25 tx-usecs 1000), with "tc qdisc add dev eth0 root netem
delay 60ms 40ms rate 50Mbit" run on the server, netperf's TCP_STREAM
improves from ~5.5 Mbps to ~100 Mbps.

This patch enables the HW LPI Timer which controls the automatic entry
and exit of the LPI state.
The EEE LPI timer value is configured through ethtool. The driver will
auto select the LPI HW timer if the value in the HW timer supported range.
Else, the driver will fallback to SW timer.

Ethtool manual stated that the tx-timer is the "the amount of time the
device should stay in idle mode prior to asserting its Tx LPI". The
previous implementation for "ethtool --set-eee tx-timer" sets the LPI TW
timer duration which is not correct. Hence, this patch fixes the
"ethtool --set-eee tx-timer" to configure the EEE LPI timer.
The LPI TW Timer will be using the defined default value instead of
"ethtool --set-eee tx-timer" which follows the EEE LS timer implementation.

While unloading the dwmac-intel driver, clk_disable_unprepare() is
being called twice in stmmac_dvr_remove() and
intel_eth_pci_remove(). This causes kernel panic on the second call.

Add option in plat_stmmacenet_data struct to enable VLAN Filter Fail
Queuing. This option allows packets that fail VLAN filter to be routed
to a specific Rx queue when Receive All is also set.
When this option is enabled:
- Enable VFFQ only when entering promiscuous mode, because Receive All
will pass up all rx packets that failed address filtering (similar to
promiscuous mode).
- VLAN-promiscuous mode is never entered to allow rx packet to fail VLAN
filters and get routed to selected VFFQ Rx queue.

As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.
After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.
The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:

EEE should be only be enabled during stmmac_mac_link_up() when the
link are up and being set up properly. set_eee should only do settings
configuration and disabling the eee.
Without this fix, turning on EEE using ethtool will return
"Operation not supported". This is due to the driver is in a dead loop
waiting for eee to be advertised in the for eee to be activated but the
driver will only configure the EEE advertisement after the eee is
activated.
Ethtool should only return "Operation not supported" if there is no EEE
capbility in the MAC controller.

The current implementation of stmmac_stop_all_queues() and
stmmac_start_all_queues() will not work correctly when the value of
tx_queues_to_use is changed through ethtool -L DEVNAME rx N tx M command.
Also, netif_tx_start|stop_all_queues() are only needed in driver open()
and close() only.

netif_set_real_num_tx_queues() & netif_set_real_num_rx_queues() should be
used to inform network stack about the real Tx & Rx queue (active) number
in both stmmac_open() and stmmac_resume(), therefore, we move the code
from stmmac_dvr_probe() to stmmac_hw_setup().

Restructure NAPI add and delete process so that we can call them
accordingly in open() and ethtool_set_channels() accordingly.

We got slightly different patches removing a double word
in a comment in net/ipv4/raw.c - picked the version from net.
Simple conflict in drivers/net/ethernet/ibm/ibmvnic.c. Use cached
values instead of VNIC login response buffer (following what
commit 507ebe6444 ("ibmvnic: Fix use-after-free of VNIC login

Create drivers/net/pcs and move the Synopsys DesignWare XPCS into the
new directory. Move the header file into a subdirectory
include/linux/pcs

Add dwmac-intel-plat to enable the stmmac driver in Intel Keem Bay.
Also add fix_mac_speed and tx_clk in order to change link speeds.
This is required as mac_speed_o is not connected in the

The IPQ806x does not appear to have a functional multicast ethernet
address filter. This was observed as a failure to correctly receive IPv6
packets on a LAN to the all stations address. Checking the vendor driver
shows that it does not attempt to enable the multicast filter and
instead falls back to receiving all multicast packets, internally
setting ALLMULTI.
Use the new fallback support in the dwmac1000 driver to correctly
achieve the same with the mainline IPQ806x driver. Confirmed to fix IPv6
functionality on an RB3011 router.

If we don't have a hardware multicast filter available then instead of
silently failing to listen for the requested ethernet broadcast
addresses fall back to receiving all multicast packets, in a similar
fashion to other drivers with no multicast filter.

With the latest net-next tree, if test suspend/resume after enabling
WOL, we get error as below:

-16 means -EBUSY, this is because I didn't enable wakeup of the correct
device when implementing phy based WOL feature. To be honest, I caught
the issue when implementing phy based WOL and then fix it locally, but
forgot to amend the phy based wol patch. Today, I found the issue by
testing net-next tree.

When WoL is enabled and the machine is powered off, the PHY remains
waiting for wakeup events at max speed, which is a waste of energy.

Currently, the stmmac driver WOL implementation relies on MAC's PMT
feature. We have a case: the MAC HW doesn't enable PMT, instead, we
rely on the phy to support WOL. Implement the support for this case.

This is to prepare WOL support with phy. Compared with WOL
implementation which relies on the MAC's PMT features, in phy
supported WOL case, device_may_wakeup() may also be true, but we
should not call mac's pmt() function if HW doesn't enable PMT.
And during resume, we should call phylink_start() if PMT is disabled.

Amlogic Meson G12A, G12B and SM1 have the same (at least as far as we
know at the time of writing) PRG_ETHERNET glue register implementation.
This implementation however is slightly different from AXG as it now has
an undocument "auto cali idx val" register in PRG_ETH1[17:16] which
seems to be related to RGMII Ethernet.
Add a new compatible string for G12A SoCs so the logic for this new
register can be implemented in the future.

xdp_umem.c had overlapping changes between the 64-bit math fix
for the calculation of npgs and the removal of the zerocopy
memory type which got rid of the chunk_size_nohdr member.
The mlx5 Kconfig conflict is a case where we just take the
net-next copy of the Kconfig entry dependency as it takes on
the ESWITCH dependency by one level of indirection which is
what the 'net' conflicting change is trying to ensure.

Commit 14b41a2959 ("net: stmmac: Delete txtimer in suspend") was the
first attempt to fix a race between mod_timer() and setup_timer()
during stmmac_resume(). However the issue still exists as the commit
only addressed half of the issue.
Same race can still happen as stmmac_resume() re-attaches interface
way too early - even before hardware is fully initialized. Worse,
doing so allows network traffic to restart and stmmac_tx_timer_arm()
being called in the middle of stmmac_resume(), which re-init tx timers
in stmmac_init_coalesce(). timer_list will be corrupted and system
crashes as a result of race between mod_timer() and setup_timer().

The ipq806x_gmac_probe() function enables the PTP clock but not the
appropriate interface clocks. This means that if the bootloader hasn't
done so attempting to bring up the interface will fail with an error
like:

Driver missed initializing num_por which is one of the por values that
driver configures to hardware. In order to get these values, add a new
structure ethqos_emac_driver_data which holds por and num_por values
and populate that in driver probe.

Configure the PRG_ETH0_ADJ_* bits to enable or disable the RX delay
based on the various RGMII PHY modes. For now the only supported RX
delay settings are:
- disabled, use for example for phy-mode "rgmii-id"
- 0ns - this is treated identical to "disabled", used for example on
boards where the PHY provides 2ns TX delay and the PCB trace length
already adds 2ns RX delay
- 2ns - for whenever the PHY cannot add the RX delay and the traces on
the PCB don't add any RX delay
Disabling the RX delay (in case u-boot enables it, which is the case
for example on Meson8b Odroid-C1) simply means that PRG_ETH0_ADJ_ENABLE,
PRG_ETH0_ADJ_SETUP, PRG_ETH0_ADJ_DELAY and PRG_ETH0_ADJ_SKEW should be
disabled (just disabling PRG_ETH0_ADJ_ENABLE may be enough, since that
disables the whole re-timing logic - but I find it makes more sense to
clear the other bits as well since they depend on that setting).
u-boot on Odroid-C1 uses the following steps to enable a 2ns RX delay:
- enabling enabling the timing adjustment clock
- enabling the timing adjustment logic by setting PRG_ETH0_ADJ_ENABLE
- setting the PRG_ETH0_ADJ_SETUP bit
The documentation for the PRG_ETH0_ADJ_DELAY and PRG_ETH0_ADJ_SKEW
registers indicates that we can even set different RX delays. However,
I could not find out how this works exactly, so for now we only support
a 2ns RX delay using the exact same way that Odroid-C1's u-boot does.

The timing adjustment clock will need similar logic as the RGMII clock:
It has to be enabled in the driver conditionally and when the driver is
unloaded it should be disabled again. Extract the existing code for the
RGMII clock into a new function so it can be re-used.

The PRG_ETHERNET registers have a built-in timing adjustment circuit
which can provide the RX delay in RGMII mode. This is driven by an
external (to this IP, but internal to the SoC) clock input. Fetch this
clock as optional (even though it's there on all supported SoCs) since
we just learned about it and existing .dtbs don't specify it.

The PRG_ETH0_ADJ_* are used for applying the RGMII RX delay. The public
datasheets only have very limited description for these registers, but
Jianxin Pan provided more detailed documentation from an (unnamed)
Amlogic engineer. Add the PRG_ETH0_ADJ_* bits along with the improved
description.

The multiplication of cfg->ctr[1] by 1000000000 is performed using a
32 bit multiplication (since cfg->ctr[1] is a u32) and this can lead
to a potential overflow. Fix this by making the constant a ULL to
ensure a 64 bit multiply occurs.

The paranoidal pointer check in IRQ handler looks very strange - it
really protects us only against bogus drivers which request IRQ line
with null pointer dev_id. However, the code fragment is incorrect
because the dev pointer is used before the actual check which leads
to undefined behavior. Remove the check to avoid confusing people
with incorrect code.

There is no competition to get more LOCs into the kernel, and driver can look
better and have improved readability without those additional line breaks.
While at it, shorten info structures that they are all PCI, at the end it's

Copy'n'paste without thinking is not a good idea and in this case it brought
unnecessary loop over PCI BAR resources which was needed to workaround one of
STMicro RVP boards. Remove unnecessary loops from Intel driver.

clk_prepare_enable() might fail, we have to check its returned value.
Besides that we have to call clk_disable_unprepare() on the error and
remove paths. Do above in the dwmac-intel driver.
While at it, remove leftover in stmmac_pci and remove unneeded condition
for NULL-aware clk_unregister_fixed_rate() call.

This patch is to enable Intel SERDES power up/down sequence. The SERDES
converts 8/10 bits data to SGMII signal. Below is an example of
HW configuration for SGMII mode. The SERDES is located in the PHY IF
in the diagram below.

PHY IF configuration and status registers are accessible through
mdio address 0x15 which is defined as mdio_adhoc_addr. During D0,
The driver will need to power up PHY IF by changing the power state

In fine adjustement mode, which is the current default, the sub-second
increment register is the number of nanoseconds that will be added to
the clock when the accumulator overflows. At each clock cycle, the
value of the addend register is added to the accumulator.
Currently, we use 20ns = 1e09ns / 50MHz as this value whatever the
frequency of the ptp clock actually is.
The adjustment is then done on the addend register, only incrementing
every X clock cycles X being the ratio between 50MHz and ptp_clock_rate
(addend = 2^32 * 50MHz/ptp_clock_rate).
This causes the following issues :
- In case the frequency of the ptp clock is inferior or equal to 50MHz,
the addend value calculation will overflow and the default
addend value will be set to 0, causing the clock to not work at
all. (For instance, for ptp_clock_rate = 50MHz, addend = 2^32).
- The resolution of the timestamping clock is limited to 20ns while it
is not needed, thus limiting the accuracy of the timestamping to
20ns.
Fix this by setting sub-second increment to 2e09ns / ptp_clock_rate.
It will allow to reach the minimum possible frequency for
ptp_clk_ref, which is 5MHz for GMII 1000Mps Full-Duplex by setting the
sub-second-increment to a higher value. For instance, for 25MHz, it
gives ssinc = 80ns and default_addend = 2^31.
It will also allow to use a lower value for sub-second-increment, thus
improving the timestamping accuracy with frequencies higher than
100MHz, for instance, for 200MHz, ssinc = 10ns and default_addend =
2^31.

compatibility with clock frequencies for which 2000000000 / ptp_clk_freq

There are 2 registers to write to enable a ptp ref clock coming from the
fpga.
One that enables the usage of the clock from the fpga for emac0 and emac1
as a ptp ref clock, and the other to allow signals from the fpga to reach
emac0 and emac1.
Currently, if the dwmac-socfpga has phymode set to PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_MII,
PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_GMII, or PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_SGMII, both registers will
be written and the ptp ref clock will be set as coming from the fpga.
Separate the 2 register writes to only enable signals from the fpga to
reach emac0 or emac1 when ptp ref clock is not coming from the fpga.

After commit bfcb813203 ("net: dsa:
configure the MTU for switch ports") my Lamobo R1 platform which uses
an allwinner,sun7i-a20-gmac compatible Ethernet MAC started to fail
by rejecting a MTU of 1536. The reason for that is that the DMA
capabilities are not readable on this version of the IP, and there
is also no 'tx-fifo-depth' property being provided in Device Tree. The
property is documented as optional, and is not provided.
Chen-Yu indicated that the FIFO sizes are 4KB for TX and 16KB for RX, so
provide these values through platform data as an immediate fix until
various Device Tree sources get updated accordingly.

entries") cleared the unused mac address entries, but introduced an
out-of bounds mac address register programming bug -- After setting
the secondary unicast mac addresses, the "reg" value has reached
netdev_uc_count() + 1, thus we should only clear address entries

As stmmac_pci.c file is getting bigger and more complex, it is reasonable
to separate all the Intel specific dwmac pci device to a different file.
This move includes Intel Quark, TGL and EHL. A new kernel config
CONFIG_DWMAC_INTEL is introduced and depends on X86. For this initial
patch, all the necessary function such as probe() and exit() are identical
besides the function name.

flow_action_hw_stats_types_check() helper takes one of the
FLOW_ACTION_HW_STATS_*_BIT values as input. If we align
the arguments to the opening bracket of the helper there
is no way to call this helper and stay under 80 characters.
Remove the "types" part from the new flow_action helpers
and enum values.

Not every stmmac based platform makes use of the eth_wake_irq or eth_lpi
interrupts. Use the platform_get_irq_byname_optional variant for these
interrupts, so no error message is displayed, if they can't be found.
Rather print an information to hint something might be wrong to assist
debugging on platforms which use these interrupts.

If a PHY is not attached, we can still run the tests with MAC loopback
mode. Return -EOPNOTSUPP error code in PHY loopback test so that global
status is not a failure.

ACS (auto PAD/FCS stripping) removes FCS off 802.3 packets (LLC) so that
there is no need to manually strip it for such packets. The enhanced DMA
descriptors allow to flag LLC packets so that the receiving callback can
use that to strip FCS manually or not. On the other hand, normal
descriptors do not support that.
Thus in order to not truncate LLC packet ACS should be disabled when
using normal DMA descriptors.

Propagate the resolved link parameters via the mac_link_up() call for
MACs that do not automatically track their PCS state. We propagate the
link parameters via function arguments so that inappropriate members
of struct phylink_link_state can't be accessed, and creating a new
structure just for this adds needless complexity to the API.

We cannot register the same netdev notifier multiple times when probing
stmmac devices. Register the notifier only once in module init, and also
make debugfs creation/deletion safe against simultaneous notifier call.

Functions starting with __ usually indicate those which are exported,
but should not be called directly. Update some of those declared in the
API and make it more readable.
page_pool_unmap_page() and page_pool_release_page() were doing
exactly the same thing calling __page_pool_clean_page(). Let's
rename __page_pool_clean_page() to page_pool_release_page() and
export it in order to show up on perf logs and get rid of
page_pool_unmap_page().
Finally rename __page_pool_put_page() to page_pool_put_page() since we
can now directly call it from drivers and rename the existing
page_pool_put_page() to page_pool_put_full_page() since they do the same
thing but the latter is trying to sync the full DMA area.
This patch also updates netsec, mvneta and stmmac drivers which use
those functions.

The recent patch to support passive mode converter did not take care the
phy interface configuration in PCI platform data. Hence, converting all
the PCI platform data from plat->interface to plat->phy_interface as the
default mode is meant for PHY.

It's found that stmmac_xmit() and stmmac_resume() sometimes might
run concurrently, possibly resulting in a race condition between
mod_timer() and setup_timer(), being called by stmmac_xmit() and
stmmac_resume() respectively.
Since the resume() runs setup_timer() every time, it'd be safer to
have del_timer_sync() in the suspend() as the counterpart.

snps databook noted that physical coding sublayer (PCS) interface
that can be used when the MAC is configured for the TBI, RTBI, or
SGMII PHY interface. we have RGMII and SGMII in a SoC and it also
has the PCS block. it needs stmmac_init_phy and stmmac_mdio_register
function for initializing phy when it used RGMII interface.

Add a new test for TBS feature which is used in ETF scheduler. In this
test, we send a packet with a launch time specified as now + 500ms and
check if the packet was transmitted on that time frame.

In the upcoming commit for TBS selftest we will need to send a packet on
a specific Queue. As stmmac fallsback to netdev_pick_tx() on the select
Queue callback, we need to switch all selftests logic to
dev_direct_xmit() so that we can send the given SKB on a specific Queue.

Adds the initial hooks for TBS support. This needs a 32 byte descriptor
in order for it to work with current HW. Adds all the logic for Enhanced
Descriptors in main core but no HW related logic for now.

RSS, when enabled, will bypass the L3 and L4 filtering causing it not

We are disabling RSS on HW but not updating the internal private status

GXBB and newer SoCs use the fixed FCLK_DIV2 (1GHz) clock as input for
the m250_sel clock. Meson8b and Meson8m2 use MPLL2 instead, whose rate
can be adjusted at runtime.
So far we have been running MPLL2 with ~250MHz (and the internal
m250_div with value 1), which worked enough that we could transfer data
with an TX delay of 4ns. Unfortunately there is high packet loss with
an RGMII PHY when transferring data (receiving data works fine though).
Odroid-C1's u-boot is running with a TX delay of only 2ns as well as
the internal m250_div set to 2 - no lost (TX) packets can be observed
with that setting in u-boot.
Manual testing has shown that the TX packet loss goes away when using
the following settings in Linux (the vendor kernel uses the same
settings):
- MPLL2 clock set to ~500MHz
- m250_div set to 2
- TX delay set to 2ns on the MAC side
Update the m250_div divider settings to only accept dividers greater or
equal 2 to fix the TX delay generated by the MAC.

The current implementation of "stmmac_dt_phy" function initializes
the MDIO platform bus data, even in the absence of PHY. This fix
will skip MDIO initialization if there is no PHY present.

When we have pending packets we re-arm the TX timer with a magic value.
This changes the re-arm of the timer from 10us to the user-defined
coalesce value. As we support different speeds, having a magic value of
10us can be either too short or to large depending on the speed so we
let user configure it. The default value of the timer is 1ms but it can
be reconfigured by ethtool.

By using this mechanism we can get rid of the not so nice method of
scheduling TX NAPI when the RX was scheduled. No bandwidth reduction was
seen with this change.

If TX Coalesce timer is enabled we should always arm it, otherwise we
may hit the case where an interrupt is missed and the TX Queue will
timeout.
Arming the timer does not necessarly mean it will run the tx_clean()
because this function is wrapped around NAPI launcher.

Only the last received buffer contains the FCS field. Check for end of
packet before trying to strip the FCS field.

The maximum MTU value is determined by the maximum size of TX FIFO so
that a full packet can fit in the FIFO. Add a check for this in the MTU
change callback.
Also check if provided and rounded MTU does not passes the maximum limit
of 16K.

Split Header feature needs to know the size of RX buffer but current
code is determining it too late. Fix this by moving the RX buffer
computation to earlier stage.

When running the MC and UC filter tests we setup a multicast address
that its expected to be blocked. If the number of available multicast
registers is zero, driver will always pass the multicast packets which
will fail the test.
Check if available multicast addresses is enough before running the
tests.

There are no clocks, resets or gpios referenced by Tegra ACPI
device so don't access clocks, resets or gpios interface with
ACPI device.
Clocks, resets and GPIOs for ACPI devices will be handled via
ACPI interface.

MT2712 SoC can provide the rmii reference clock, and the clock
will output from TXC pin only, which means ref_clk pin of external
PHY should connect to TXC pin in this case.
Add corresponding clock and timing settings.

Replace all the occurrences of FIELD_SIZEOF() with sizeof_field() except
at places where these are defined. Later patches will remove the unused
definition of FIELD_SIZEOF().
