Only the following drivers aren't converted:
- amdgpu, because of the driver_feature mangling due to virt support.
Subsequent patch will address this.
- nouveau, because DRIVER_ATOMIC uapi is still not the default on the
platforms where it's supported (i.e. again driver_feature mangling)
- vc4, again because of driver_feature mangling
- qxl, because the ioctl table is somewhere else and moving that is
maybe a bit too much, hence the num_ioctls assignment prevents a
const driver structure.
- arcpgu, because that is stuck behind a pending tiny-fication series
from me.
- legacy drivers, because legacy requires non-const drm_driver.
Note that for armada I also went ahead and made the ioctl array const.
Only cc'ing the driver people who've not been converted (everyone else
is way too much).
v2: Fix one misplaced const static, should be static const (0day)
v3:

When using the scaler on the A10-like frontend with single-planar formats,
the current code will setup the channel 0 filter (used for the R or Y
component) with a different phase parameter than the channel 1 filter (used
for the G/B or U/V components).
This creates a bleed out that keeps repeating on of the last line of the
RGB plane across the rest of the display. The Allwinner BSP either applies
the same phase parameter over both channels or use a separate one, the
condition being whether the input format is YUV420 or not.
Since YUV420 is both subsampled and multi-planar, and since YUYV is
subsampled but single-planar, we can rule out the subsampling and assume
that the condition is actually whether the format is single or
multi-planar. And it looks like applying the same phase parameter over both
channels for single-planar formats fixes our issue, while we keep the
multi-planar formats working properly.

The scaler filter phase setup in the allwinner kernel has two different
cases for setting up the scaler filter, the first one using different phase
parameters for the two channels, and the second one reusing the first
channel parameters on the second channel.
The allwinner kernel has a third option where the horizontal phase of the
second channel will be set to a different value than the vertical one (and
seems like it's the same value than one used on the first channel).
However, that code path seems to never be taken, so we can ignore it for
now, and it's essentially what we're doing so far as well.
Since we will have always the same values across each components of the
filter setup for a given channel, we can simplify a bit our frontend
structure by only storing the phase value we want to apply to a given
channel.

The new field 'dma_range_map' in struct device is used to facilitate the
use of single or multiple offsets between mapping regions of cpu addrs and
dma addrs. It subsumes the role of "dev->dma_pfn_offset" which was only
capable of holding a single uniform offset and had no region bounds
checking.
The function of_dma_get_range() has been modified so that it takes a single
argument -- the device node -- and returns a map, NULL, or an error code.
The map is an array that holds the information regarding the DMA regions.
Each range entry contains the address offset, the cpu_start address, the
dma_start address, and the size of the region.
of_dma_configure() is the typical manner to set range offsets but there are
a number of ad hoc assignments to "dev->dma_pfn_offset" in the kernel
driver code. These cases now invoke the function
dma_direct_set_offset(dev, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size).

The LVDS controller can invert the polarity / lanes of the LVDS output.
The default polarity causes some issues on some panels.
However, U-Boot has always used the opposite polarity without any reported
issue, and the only currently supported LVDS panel in-tree (the TBS A711)
seems to be able to work with both settings.
Let's just use the same polarity than U-Boot to be more consistent and
hopefully support all the panels.

Platform glue drivers for dw_hdmi may need to access device-specific

Most bridge drivers create a DRM connector to model the connector at the
output of the bridge. This model is historical and has worked pretty
well so far, but causes several issues:
- It prevents supporting more complex display pipelines where DRM
connector operations are split over multiple components. For instance a
pipeline with a bridge connected to the DDC signals to read EDID data,
and another one connected to the HPD signal to detect connection and
disconnection, will not be possible to support through this model.
- It requires every bridge driver to implement similar connector
handling code, resulting in code duplication.
- It assumes that a bridge will either be wired to a connector or to
another bridge, but doesn't support bridges that can be used in both
positions very well (although there is some ad-hoc support for this in
the analogix_dp bridge driver).
In order to solve these issues, ownership of the connector should be
moved to the display controller driver (where it can be implemented
using helpers provided by the core).
Extend the bridge API to allow disabling connector creation in bridge
drivers as a first step towards the new model. The new flags argument to
the bridge .attach() operation allows instructing the bridge driver to
skip creating a connector. Unconditionally set the new flags argument to
0 for now to keep the existing behaviour, and modify all existing bridge
drivers to return an error when connector creation is not requested as
they don't support this feature yet.
The change is based on the following semantic patch, with manual review
and edits.

allowing the panel to be attached. Otherwise, we may trigger a hotplug
event before sun4i_framebuffer_init() sets up drm->mode_config.funcs,

Merge v5.6-rc2 into drm-misc-next

The driver currently uses runtime PM to perform some of the module
initialization and cleanup. This has three problems:
1) There is no Kconfig dependency on CONFIG_PM, so if runtime PM is
disabled, the driver will not work at all, since the module will
never be initialized.
2) The driver does not ensure that the device is suspended when
sun6i_dsi_probe() fails or when sun6i_dsi_remove() is called. It
simply disables runtime PM. From the docs of pm_runtime_disable():
The device can be either active or suspended after its runtime PM
has been disabled.
And indeed, the device will likely still be active if sun6i_dsi_probe
fails. For example, if the panel driver is not yet loaded, we have
the following sequence:
sun6i_dsi_probe()
pm_runtime_enable()
mipi_dsi_host_register()
of_mipi_dsi_device_add(child)
...device_add()...
__device_attach()
pm_runtime_get_sync(dev->parent) -> Causes resume
bus_for_each_drv()
__device_attach_driver() -> No match for panel
pm_runtime_put(dev->parent) -> Async idle request
component_add()
__component_add()
try_to_bring_up_masters()
try_to_bring_up_master()
sun4i_drv_bind()
component_bind_all()
component_bind()
sun6i_dsi_bind() -> Fails with -EPROBE_DEFER
mipi_dsi_host_unregister()
pm_runtime_disable()
__pm_runtime_disable()
__pm_runtime_barrier() -> Idle request is still pending
cancel_work_sync() -> DSI host is *not* suspended!
Since the device is not suspended, the clock and regulator are never
disabled. The imbalance causes a WARN at devres free time.
3) The driver relies on being suspended when sun6i_dsi_encoder_enable()
is called. The resume callback has a comment that says:
Some part of it can only be done once we get a number of
lanes, see sun6i_dsi_inst_init
And then part of the resume callback only runs if dsi->device is not
NULL (that is, if sun6i_dsi_attach() has been called). However, as
the above call graph shows, the resume callback is guaranteed to be
called before sun6i_dsi_attach(); it is called before child devices
get their drivers attached.
Therefore, part of the controller initialization will only run if the
device is suspended between the calls to mipi_dsi_host_register() and
component_add() (which ends up calling sun6i_dsi_encoder_enable()).
Again, as shown by the above call graph, this is not the case. It
appears that the controller happens to work because it is still
initialized by the bootloader.
Because the connector is hardcoded to always be connected, the
device's runtime PM reference is not dropped until system suspend,
when sun4i_drv_drm_sys_suspend() ends up calling
sun6i_dsi_encoder_disable(). However, that is done as a system sleep
PM hook, and at that point the system PM core has already taken
another runtime PM reference, so sun6i_dsi_runtime_suspend() is
not called. Likewise, by the time the PM core releases its reference,
sun4i_drv_drm_sys_resume() has already re-enabled the encoder.
So after system suspend and resume, we have *still never called*
sun6i_dsi_inst_init(), and now that the rest of the display pipeline
has been reset, the DSI host is unable to communicate with the panel,
causing VBLANK timeouts.
Fix all of these issues by inlining the runtime PM hooks into the
encoder enable/disable functions, which are guaranteed to run after a
panel is attached. This allows sun6i_dsi_inst_init() to be called
unconditionally. Furthermore, this causes the hardware to be turned off
during system suspend and reinitialized on resume, which was not
happening before.

Currently, the DSI host blocks binding the display pipeline until the
panel is available. This unnecessarily prevents other display outpus
from working, and adds logspam to dmesg when the panel driver is built
as a module (the component master is unsuccessfully brought up several
times during boot).
Flip the dependency, instead requiring the host to be bound before the
panel is attached. The panel driver provides no functionality outside of
the display pipeline anyway.
Since the panel is now probed after the DRM connector, we need a hotplug
event to turn on the connector after the panel is attached.
This has the added benefit of fixing panel module removal/insertion.
Previously, the panel would be turned off when its module was removed.
But because the connector state was hardcoded, nothing knew to turn the
panel back on when it was re-attached. Now, with hotplug events
available, the connector state will follow the panel module state, and
the panel will be re-enabled properly.

The continued use of an ERR_PTR to signify "no panel" outside of
sun6i_dsi_attach is confusing because it is a double negative. Because
the connector always reports itself as connected, there is also the
possibility of sending an ERR_PTR to drm_panel_get_modes(), which would
crash.
Solve both of these by only storing the panel pointer if it is valid.

This reverts commit 9db9c0cf58.
Setting mode_config.allow_fb_modifiers manually is completely
unnecessary. It is set automatically by drm_universal_plane_init() based
on the fact if modifier list is provided or not. Even more, it breaks
DE2 and DE3 as they don't support any modifiers beside linear. Modifiers
aware applications can be confused by provided empty modifier list - at
least linear modifier should be included, but it's not for DE2 and DE3.

using assigned-clocks in the device tree, but that is easy to forget, and
doesn't provide any other guarantee than the rate is going to be roughly

In commit 0b8e7bbde5 ("drm/sun4i: tcon: Set min division of TCON0_DCLK
to 1.") it was assumed that all TCON variants support a minimum divider
of 1 if only DCLK was used.
However, the oldest generation of hardware only supports minimum divider
of 4 if only DCLK is used. If a divider of 1 was used on this old
hardware, some scrolling artifact would appear. A divider of 2 seemed
OK, but a divider of 3 had artifacts as well.
Set the minimum divider when outputing to parallel RGB based on the
hardware model, with a minimum of 4 for the oldest (A10/A10s/A13/A20)
hardware, and a minimum of 1 for the rest. A value is not set for the
TCON variants lacking channel 0.
This fixes the scrolling artifacts seen on my A13 tablet.

regmap has special API to enable the controller bus clock while
initializing register space, and current driver is using
devm_regmap_init_mmio_clk which require to specify bus
clk_id argument as "bus"
But, the usage of clocks are varies between different Allwinner
DSI controllers. Clocking in A33 would need bus and mod clocks
where as A64 would need only bus clock.
Since A64 support only single bus clock, it is optional to
specify the clock-names on the controller device tree node.
So using NULL on clk_id would get the attached clock.
To support clk_id as "bus" and "NULL" during clock enablement
between controllers, this patch add generic code to handle
the bus clock using regmap_mmio_attach_clk with associated
regmap APIs.

The datasheet of V3s (and various other chips) wrote
that TCON0_DCLK_DIV can be >= 1 if only dclk is used,
and must >= 6 if dclk1 or dclk2 is used. As currently
neither dclk1 nor dclk2 is used (no writes to these
bits), let's set minimal division to 1.
If this minimal division is 6, some common dot clock
frequencies can't be produced (e.g. 30MHz will not be
possible and will fallback to 25MHz), which is
obviously not an expected behaviour.

The formula in the BSP kernel indicates that a 16-byte overhead is used
when sending the HFP. However, this value is currently set to 6 in the
sun6i_mipi_dsi driver, which makes some panels flashing.

This reverts commit da676c6aa6.
The original commit adds a start parameter to the calculation of the
start delay according to some old BSP versions from Allwinner. However,
there're two ways to add this delay -- add it in DSI controller or add
it in the TCON. Add it in both controllers won't work.
The code before this commit is picked from new versions of BSP kernel,
which has a comment for the 1 that says "put start_delay to tcon". By
checking the sun4i_tcon0_mode_set_cpu() in sun4i_tcon driver, it has
already added this delay, so we shouldn't repeat to add the delay in DSI
controller, otherwise the timing won't match.
