89bc22d23f Bluetooth: Add quirk for invalid controller address setting
When a Bluetooth controller does not have a valid public Bluetooth
address, then allow the driver to indicate this. If the quirk is
set, the Bluetooth core will switch to unconfigured state first
and will allow userspace to configure the address before starting
the full initialization of the controller.

a7545f2afc Bluetooth: Use hci_pend_le_action_lookup to look up report entries
Instead of looking through the entire list of entries we can more
efficiently use the new hci_pend_le_action_lookup() function to look up
entries specifically in the pend_le_reports list. Since the search is
now limited to the right list we can also remove an unnecessary check
for list_empty() before the lookup.

d7347f3cc2 Bluetooth: Fix clearing and restarting all LE actions on power cycle
When powering off (hci_dev_do_close) we should clear both the
pend_le_reports and pend_le_conns types of entries. When powering on
respectively we should populate both lists. This patch converts the
hci_pend_le_conns_clear() function into hci_pend_le_actions_clear()
(which can now be static) and converts the restart_le_auto_conns()
function into restart_le_actions().

95305baa77 Bluetooth: Simplify hci_conn_params->action list usage
Since params->action is used for both the pend_le_conns and
pend_le_reports lists we can simplify the adding and deleting of the
lists considerably. For example, when deleting entries in most
situations we no-longer need to check the auto_connect value but can
directly proceed with calling list_del_init on param->action (which is
safe even if the entry is not part of any list).

a2f41a8f37 Bluetooth: Simplify use of hci_pend_le_conns_clear()
Now that pend_le_connections is a list of hci_conn_params entries we can
simply remove items from that list as we iterate through the global list
of le_conn_params. This also moves the responsibility of calling
hci_update_background_scan() to the functions that were previously
calling hci_pend_le_conns_clear(). The only user that's left for
hci_pend_le_conns_clear() is hci_dev_do_close() which anyway does not
need to call hci_update_background_scan().

If a device is in the pend_le_conns list it cannot at the same time also
have the need to be notified through mgmt_device_found. By making
check_pending_le_conn return whether it found an entry or not we can

Since the connection parameters are always a basis for adding entries to
hdev->pend_le_conns (so far of type bdaddr_list) it's simpler and more
efficient to have the parameters themselves be the entries in the
pend_le_conns list. We do this by adding another list_head to the
hci_conn_params struct.

When processing passive scanning results we need the resolved identity
address both in check_pending_le_conn() as well as later in
process_adv_report(). Since process_adv_report() calls
check_pending_le_conn() we can simply resolve the IRK earlier in the
function and thereby eliminate a second lookup.

ba1d6936f6 Bluetooth: Fix buffer overflow with variable length commands
The handler for variable length commands were trying to calculate the
expected length of the command based on the given parameter count, and
then comparing that with the received data. However, the expected count
was stored in a u16 which can easily overflow. With a carefully crafted
command this can then be made to match the given data even though the
parameter count is actually way too big, resulting in a buffer overflow
when parsing the parameters.

This patch fixes the issue by calculating a per-command maximum
parameter count and returns INVALID_PARAMS if it is exceeded.

If we have one or more devices with HCI_AUTO_CONN_REPORT we should do
background scanning and emit mgmt_device_found events. This patch
modifies the hci_update_background_scan() function to extend the

process_adv_report() to emit mgmt_device_found events.

75ce208cc4 Bluetooth: Allow mgmt_device_found events for kernel-side scanning
When the kernel is doing LE scanning because of one or more devices
added with action 0x00 through the Add Device command we do want to let
mgmt_device_found() to proceed with sending an event. This kind of
devices are tracked with hdev->pend_le_reports, so check this value
before bailing out from the function.

To be able to make the right choice of whether to start passive scanning
or to send out a mgmt_device_found event we need to know if there are

devices.

4a964404c0 Bluetooth: Introduce unconfigured controller state
With the new unconfigured controller state it is possible to provide a
fully functional HCI transport, but disable the higher level operations
that would normally happen. This way userspace can try to configure the
controller before releases the unconfigured state.

The internal state is represented by HCI_UNCONFIGURED. This replaces the
HCI_QUIRK_RAW_DEVICE quirk as internal state representation. This is now
a real state and drivers can use the quirk to actually trigger this
state. In the future this will allow a more fine grained switching from
unconfigured state to configured state for controller inititialization.

If we don't have an identity address for connection parameters it
doesn't really make sense to send them to user space. Instead just
ignore them for now. Later we can add support for sending them when we
eventually get the identity through pairing.

7d6ca6939c Bluetooth: Make hci_le_conn_update return the store hint
The caller of hci_le_conn_update is directly interested in knowing what
the best value is for the store_hint parameter of the corresponding
mgmt event. Since hci_le_conn_update knows whether there were stored
parameters that were updated or not we can have it return an initial
store_hint value to the caller.

c71593dd34 Bluetooth: Remove only enabled entries with Remove Device command
The Remove Device mgmt command is supposed to undo what the Add Device
command does. An entry added by Add Device cannot have the
HCI_AUTO_CONN_DISABLED auto_connect value, so we should treat this as an
invalid entry to remove. This patch adds the necessary pieces to the
Remove Device command handler so that it only removes entries which were
added by Add Device.

Unlike BR/EDR we cannot reject LE connections of blocked devices but
have to do it as soon as we get a LE Connection Complete event. The

e493150e36 Bluetooth: Centralize looking up blocked devices to l2cap_recv_frame
The ATT channel isn't the only one that we should ensure doesn't receive
data from blocked devices. SMP is another, and in general we don't want
data packets going to any of the various handlers. Therefore, add a
single check to the l2cap_recv_frame function.

The patch fixes at the same time the use of a correct address type. The
blacklist stores the values with the user space facing triple type
wheras hci_conn->dst_type uses the HCI address type (0x00 or 0x01).

ffb5a827d5 Bluetooth: Introduce "New Connection Parameter" Event
This patch introduces a new Mgmt event called "New Connection Parameter".
This event indicates to userspace the connection parameters values the
remote device requested.

The user may store these values and load them into kernel. This way, next
time a connection is established to that device, the kernel will use those
parameters values instead of the default ones.

This event is sent when the remote device requests new connection
parameters through connection parameter update procedure. This event is
not sent for slave connections.

9193c6e884 Bluetooth: Move LE event mask setting into init3 phase
During init2 phase, the LE local features have not be read yet so
we aren't able to rely on hdev->le_features to determine if the
controller supports the Connection Parameters Request Procedure.

For that reason, this patch moves LE event mask setting from init2
into init3 initialization phase.

The hdev->le_features mask will be checked by the next patch in order
to know if "LE Remote Connection Parameter Request Event" should be
enabled.

8e75b46a4f Bluetooth: Connection Parameter Update Procedure
This patch adds support for LE Connection Parameters Request Link
Layer control procedure introduced in Core spec 4.1. This procedure
allows a Peripheral or Central to update the Link Layer connection
parameters of an established connection.

Regarding the acceptance of connection parameters, the LL procedure
follows the same approach of L2CAP procedure (see l2cap_conn_param_
update_req function). We accept any connection parameters values as
long as they are within the valid range.

2a8357f239 Bluetooth: Fix redundant device (un)blocked events
For the Block/Unblock Device mgmt commands we should only emit the
Blocked/Unblocked events on any socket except for the one which received
the command. The code was previously incorrectly trying to look up a
non-existent pending command and thereby ending up not skipping the
command socket for the event.

We can simplify the code a lot by simply sending the event directly from
the command handler functions. We have the reference to the command
socket available there which makes it easy to pass to the mgmt_event
function for skipping.

The only notable side-effect of this is that the old blacklisting
ioctl's no-longer cause mgmt events to be emitted, however as user space
versions using these ioctl's are not mgmt-aware this is acceptable.

If we're already encrypted with a good enough LTK we should just ignore
an incoming SMP Security Request. The code was already taking care of
this in the smp_conn_security function before calling smp_ltk_encrypt
but failed to do the same in smp_cmd_security_req. This patch fixes the
issue by moving up the smp_sufficient_security function and using it in
the Security Request handler before trying to request encryption.

When trying to pair a new Bluetooth Low Energy device, then make sure
that the default connections parameters are in place before trying to
establish the first connection to that device. With the connection

6ab535a777 Bluetooth: Don't use non-resolvable private address for passive scanning
The usage of non-resovlable private addresses for passive scanning is
a bad idea. Passive scanning will not send any SCAN_REQ and thus using
your identity address for passive scanning is not a privacy issue.

It is important to use the identity address during passive scanning
since that is the only way devices using direct advertising will be
reported correctly by the controller. This is overlooked detail in
the Bluetooth specification that current controllers are not able
to report direct advertising events for other than their current
address.

When remote peers are using direct advertising and scanning is done
with non-resolvable private address these devices will not be found.

fee746b0ba Bluetooth: Restrict access for raw-only controllers
Bluetooth controllers that are marked for raw-only usage can only be
used with user channel access. Any other operation should be rejected.

This simplifies the whole raw-only support since it now depends on
the fact that the controller is marked with HCI_QUIRK_RAW_DEVICE and
runtime raw access is restricted to user channel operation.

The kernel internal processing of HCI commands and events is designed
around the case that either the kernel has full control over the device
or that the device is driven from userspace. This now makes a clear
distinction between these two possible operation modes.

7652ff6aea Bluetooth: Move mgmt event sending out from hci_add_link_key()
There are two callers of hci_add_link_key(). The first one is the HCI
Link Key Notification event and the second one the mgmt code that
receives a list of link keys from user space. Previously we've had the
hci_add_link_key() function being responsible for also emitting a mgmt
signal but for the latter use case this should not happen. Because of
this a rather awkward new_key paramter has been passed to the function.

This patch moves the mgmt event sending out from the hci_add_link_key()
function, thereby making the code a bit more understandable.

Instead of adding the 6LoWPAN functionality to Bluetooth module,
we create a separate kernel module for it.

Usage:

In the slave side do this:

$ modprobe bluetooth_6lowpan
$ echo 62 > /sys/kernel/debug/bluetooth/6lowpan_psm
$ hciconfig hci0 leadv

In the master side do this:

$ modprobe bluetooth_6lowpan
$ echo 62 > /sys/kernel/debug/bluetooth/6lowpan_psm
$ echo 'connect E0:06:E6:B7:2A:73 1' > \
                  /sys/kernel/debug/bluetooth/6lowpan_control

The 6LoWPAN functionality can be controlled by psm value. If it
is left to 0, then the module is disabled and all the 6LoWPAN
connections are dropped if there were any. In the above example,
the psm value is just an example and not a real value for
6LoWPAN service. The real psm value is yet to be defined in
Bluetooth specification.

The 6lowpan controlling interface is a temporary solution
until the specifications are ready.

0498878b18 Bluetooth: Provide L2CAP ops callback for memcpy_fromiovec
The highly optimized TX path for L2CAP channels and its fragmentation
within the HCI ACL packets requires to copy data from user provided
IO vectors and also kernel provided memory buffers.

This patch allows channel clients to provide a memcpy_fromiovec callback
to keep this optimized behavior, but adapt it to kernel vs user memory
for the TX path. For all kernel internal L2CAP channels, a default
implementation is provided that can be referenced.

In case of A2MP, this fixes a long-standing issue with wrongly accessing
kernel memory as user memory.

When the rename of STK_SLAVE to simply STK happened we missed this place
in the ltk_type_master function. Now, checking for master is as simple
as checking whether the type is SMP_LTK. The helper function is kept

8f61059a96 net: sctp: improve timer slack calculation for transport HBs
RFC4960, section 8.3 says:

  On an idle destination address that is allowed to heartbeat,
  it is recommended that a HEARTBEAT chunk is sent once per RTO
  of that destination address plus the protocol parameter
  'HB.interval', with jittering of +/- 50% of the RTO value,
  and exponential backoff of the RTO if the previous HEARTBEAT
  is unanswered.

Currently, we calculate jitter via sctp_jitter() function first,
and then add its result to the current RTO for the new timeout:

  TMO = RTO + (RAND() % RTO) - (RTO / 2)
              `------------------------^-=> sctp_jitter()

Instead, we can just simplify all this by directly calculating:

  TMO = (RTO / 2) + (RAND() % RTO)

With the help of prandom_u32_max(), we don't need to open code
our own global PRNG, but can instead just make use of the per
CPU implementation of prandom with better quality numbers. Also,
we can now spare us the conditional for divide by zero check
since no div or mod operation needs to be used. Note that
prandom_u32_max() won't emit the same result as a mod operation,
but we really don't care here as we only want to have a random
number scaled into RTO interval.

Note, exponential RTO backoff is handeled elsewhere, namely in
sctp_do_8_2_transport_strike().

This happens since ec34232575 (tcp: fix retransmission in repair
mode). Prior to that, the call to tcp_push was prevented by a check for
tp->repair.

The patch fixes it, by adding the new goto-label out_nopush. When exiting
tcp_sendmsg and a push is not required, which is the case for tp->repair,
we go to this label.

When repairing and calling send() with TCP_RECV_QUEUE, the data is
actually put in the receive-queue. So, no push is required because no
data has been added to the send-queue.

9fe516ba3f inet: move ipv6only in sock_common
When an UDP application switches from AF_INET to AF_INET6 sockets, we
have a small performance degradation for IPv4 communications because of
extra cache line misses to access ipv6only information.

This can also be noticed for TCP listeners, as ipv6_only_sock() is also
used from __inet_lookup_listener()->compute_score()

This is magnified when SO_REUSEPORT is used.

Move ipv6only into struct sock_common so that it is available at
no extra cost in lookups.

8788370a1d pktgen: RCU-ify "if_list" to remove lock in next_to_run()
The if_lock()/if_unlock() in next_to_run() adds a significant
overhead, because its called for every packet in busy loop of
pktgen_thread_worker().  (Thomas Graf originally pointed me
at this lock problem).

Removing these two "LOCK" operations should in theory save us approx
16ns (8ns x 2), as illustrated below we do save 16ns when removing
the locks and introducing RCU protection.

Performance data with CLONE_SKB==100000, TX-size=512, rx-usecs=30:
 (single CPU performance, ixgbe 10Gbit/s, E5-2630)
 * Prev   : 5684009 pps --> 175.93ns (1/5684009*10^9)
 * RCU-fix: 6272204 pps --> 159.43ns (1/6272204*10^9)
 * Diff   : +588195 pps --> -16.50ns

To understand this RCU patch, I describe the pktgen thread model
below.

In pktgen there is several kernel threads, but there is only one CPU
running each kernel thread.  Communication with the kernel threads are
done through some thread control flags.  This allow the thread to
change data structures at a know synchronization point, see main
thread func pktgen_thread_worker().

Userspace changes are communicated through proc-file writes.  There
are three types of changes, general control changes "pgctrl"
(func:pgctrl_write), thread changes "kpktgend_X"
(func:pktgen_thread_write), and interface config changes "etcX@N"
(func:pktgen_if_write).

Userspace "pgctrl" and "thread" changes are synchronized via the mutex
pktgen_thread_lock, thus only a single userspace instance can run.
The mutex is taken while the packet generator is running, by pgctrl
"start".  Thus e.g. "add_device" cannot be invoked when pktgen is
running/started.

All "pgctrl" and all "thread" changes, except thread "add_device",
communicate via the thread control flags.  The main problem is the
exception "add_device", that modifies threads "if_list" directly.

Fortunately "add_device" cannot be invoked while pktgen is running.
But there exists a race between "rem_device_all" and "add_device"
(which normally don't occur, because "rem_device_all" waits 125ms
before returning). Background'ing "rem_device_all" and running
"add_device" immediately allow the race to occur.

The race affects the threads (list of devices) "if_list".  The if_lock
is used for protecting this "if_list".  Other readers are given
lock-free access to the list under RCU read sections.

Note, interface config changes (via proc) can occur while pktgen is
running, which worries me a bit.  I'm assuming proc_remove() takes
appropriate locks, to assure no writers exists after proc_remove()
finish.

I've been running a script exercising the race condition (leading me
to fix the proc_remove order), without any issues.  The script also
exercises concurrent proc writes, while the interface config is
getting removed.

baac167b70 pktgen: avoid expensive set_current_state() call in loop
Avoid calling set_current_state() inside the busy-loop in
pktgen_thread_worker().  In case of pkt_dev->delay, then it is still
used/enabled in pktgen_xmit() via the spin() call.

The set_current_state(TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE) uses a xchg, which implicit
is LOCK prefixed.  I've measured the asm LOCK operation to take approx
8ns on this E5-2630 CPU.  Performance increase corrolate with this
measurement.

Performance data with CLONE_SKB==100000, rx-usecs=30:
 (single CPU performance, ixgbe 10Gbit/s, E5-2630)
 * Prev:  5454050 pps --> 183.35ns (1/5454050*10^9)
 * Now:   5684009 pps --> 175.93ns (1/5684009*10^9)

b0ab2fabb5 rtnetlink: allow to register ops without ops->setup set
So far, it is assumed that ops->setup is filled up. But there might be
case that ops might make sense even without ->setup. In that case,
forbid to newlink and dellink.

This allows to register simple rtnl link ops containing only ->kind.
That allows consistent way of passing device kind (either device-kind or
slave-kind) to userspace.

d933319657 ipv6: Allow accepting RA from local IP addresses.
This can be used in virtual networking applications, and
may have other uses as well.  The option is disabled by
default.

A specific use case is setting up virtual routers, bridges, and
hosts on a single OS without the use of network namespaces or
virtual machines.  With proper use of ip rules, routing tables,
veth interface pairs and/or other virtual interfaces,
and applications that can bind to interfaces and/or IP addresses,
it is possibly to create one or more virtual routers with multiple
hosts attached.  The host interfaces can act as IPv6 systems,
with radvd running on the ports in the virtual routers.  With the
option provided in this patch enabled, those hosts can now properly
obtain IPv6 addresses from the radvd.

7f50236153 ipv4: irq safe sk_dst_[re]set() and ipv4_sk_update_pmtu() fix
We have two different ways to handle changes to sk->sk_dst

First way (used by TCP) assumes socket lock is owned by caller, and use
no extra lock : __sk_dst_set() & __sk_dst_reset()

Another way (used by UDP) uses sk_dst_lock because socket lock is not
always taken. Note that sk_dst_lock is not softirq safe.

These ways are not inter changeable for a given socket type.

ipv4_sk_update_pmtu(), added in linux-3.8, added a race, as it used
the socket lock as synchronization, but users might be UDP sockets.

Instead of converting sk_dst_lock to a softirq safe version, use xchg()
as we did for sk_rx_dst in commit e47eb5dfb2 ("udp: ipv4: do not use
sk_dst_lock from softirq context")

In a follow up patch, we probably can remove sk_dst_lock, as it is
only used in IPv6.

4a46b24e14 openvswitch: Use exact lookup for flow_get and flow_del.
Due to the race condition in userspace, there is chance that two
overlapping megaflows could be installed in datapath.  And this
causes userspace unable to delete the less inclusive megaflow flow
even after it timeout, since the flow_del logic will stop at the
first match of masked flow.

This commit fixes the bug by making the kernel flow_del and flow_get
logic check all masks in that case.

Introduced by 03f0d916a (openvswitch: Mega flow implementation).

ad55200734 openvswitch: Fix tracking of flags seen in TCP flows.
Flow statistics need to take into account the TCP flags from the packet
currently being processed (in 'key'), not the TCP flags matched by the
flow found in the kernel flow table (in 'flow').

This bug made the Open vSwitch userspace fin_timeout action have no effect
in many cases.
This bug is introduced by commit 88d73f6c41 (openvswitch: Use
TCP flags in the flow key for stats.)

e0bb8c44ed openvswitch: supply a dummy err_handler of gre_cisco_protocol to prevent kernel crash
When use gre vport, openvswitch register a gre_cisco_protocol but
does not supply a err_handler with it. The gre_cisco_err() in
net/ipv4/gre_demux.c expect err_handler be provided with the
gre_cisco_protocol implementation, and call ->err_handler() without
existence check, cause the kernel crash.

This patch provide a err_handler to fix this bug.
This bug introduced by commit aa310701e7 (openvswitch: Add gre
tunnel support.)

9403715977 tcp: move around a few calls in tcp_v6_conn_request
Make the tcp_v6_conn_request calls flow similar with that of
tcp_v4_conn_request.

Note that want_cookie can be true only if isn is zero and that is why
we can move the if (want_cookie) block out of the if (!isn) block.

Moving security_inet_conn_request() has a couple of side effects:
missing inet_rsk(req)->ecn_ok update and the req->cookie_ts
update. However, neither SELinux nor Smack security hooks seems to
check them. This change should also avoid future different behaviour
for IPv4 and IPv6 in the security hooks.

Since pktops is only used for IPv6 only and opts is used for IPv4
only, we can move these fields into a union and this allows us to drop
the inet6_reqsk_alloc function as after this change it becomes
equivalent with inet_reqsk_alloc.

This patch also fixes a kmemcheck issue in the IPv6 stack: the flags
field was not annotated after a request_sock was allocated.

aa27fc5018 tcp: tcp_v[46]_conn_request: fix snt_synack initialization
Commit 016818d07 (tcp: TCP Fast Open Server - take SYNACK RTT after
completing 3WHS) changes the code to only take a snt_synack timestamp
when a SYNACK transmit or retransmit succeeds. This behaviour is later
broken by commit 843f4a55e (tcp: use tcp_v4_send_synack on first
SYN-ACK), as snt_synack is now updated even if tcp_v4_send_synack
fails.

Also, commit 3a19ce0ee (tcp: IPv6 support for fastopen server) misses
the required IPv6 updates for 016818d07.

This patch makes sure that snt_synack is updated only when the SYNACK
trasnmit/retransmit succeeds, for both IPv4 and IPv6.

60120526c2 tipc: simplify connection congestion handling
As a consequence of the recently introduced serialized access
to the socket in commit 8d94168a761819d10252bab1f8de6d7b202c3baa
("tipc: same receive code path for connection protocol and data
messages") we can make a number of simplifications in the
detection and handling of connection congestion situations.

- We don't need to keep two counters, one for sent messages and one
  for acked messages. There is no longer any risk for races between
  acknowledge messages arriving in BH and data message sending
  running in user context. So we merge this into one counter,
  'sent_unacked', which is incremented at sending and subtracted
  from at acknowledge reception.

- We don't need to set the 'congested' field in tipc_port to
  true before we sent the message, and clear it when sending
  is successful. (As a matter of fact, it was never necessary;
  the field was set in link_schedule_port() before any wakeup
  could arrive anyway.)

- We keep the conditions for link congestion and connection connection
  congestion separated. There would otherwise be a risk that an arriving
  acknowledge message may wake up a user sleeping because of link
  congestion.

- We can simplify reception of acknowledge messages.

We also make some cosmetic/structural changes:

- We rename the 'congested' field to the more correct 'link_cong´.

- We rename 'conn_unacked' to 'rcv_unacked'

- We move the above mentioned fields from struct tipc_port to
  struct tipc_sock.

ac0074ee70 tipc: clean up connection protocol reception function
We simplify the code for receiving connection probes, leveraging the
recently introduced tipc_msg_reverse() function. We also stick to
the principle of sending a possible response message directly from
the calling (tipc_sk_rcv or backlog_rcv) functions, hence making
the call chain shallower and easier to follow.

We make one small protocol change here, allowed according to
the spec. If a protocol message arrives from a remote socket that
is not the one we are connected to, we are currently generating a
connection abort message and send it to the source. This behavior
is unnecessary, and might even be a security risk, so instead we
now choose to only ignore the message. The consequnce for the sender

ec8a2e5621 tipc: same receive code path for connection protocol and data messages
As a preparation to eliminate port_lock we need to bring reception
of connection protocol messages under proper protection of bh_lock_sock
or socket owner.

We fix this by letting those messages follow the same code path as
incoming data messages.

As a side effect of this change, the last reference to the function
net_route_msg() disappears, and we can eliminate that function.

4ccfe5e041 tipc: connection oriented transport uses new send functions
We move the message sending across established connections
to use the message preparation and send functions introduced
earlier in this series. We now do the message preparation
and call to the link send function directly from the socket,
instead of going via the port layer.

As a consequence of this change, the functions tipc_send(),
tipc_port_iovec_rcv(), tipc_port_iovec_reject() and tipc_reject_msg()
become unreferenced and can be eliminated from port.c. For the same
reason, the functions tipc_link_xmit_fast(), tipc_link_iovec_xmit_long()
and tipc_link_iovec_fast() can be eliminated from link.c.

e2dafe87d3 tipc: RDM/DGRAM transport uses new fragmenting and sending functions
We merge the code for sending port name and port identity addressed
messages into the corresponding send functions in socket.c, and start
using the new fragmenting and transmit functions we just have introduced.

This saves a call level and quite a few code lines, as well as making
this part of the code easier to follow. As a consequence, the functions
tipc_send2name() and tipc_send2port() in port.c can be removed.

For practical reasons, we break out the code for sending multicast messages
from tipc_sendmsg() and move it into a separate function, tipc_sendmcast(),
but we do not yet convert it into using the new build/send functions.

5a379074a7 tipc: introduce message evaluation function
When a message arrives in a node and finds no destination
socket, we may need to drop it, reject it, or forward it after
a secondary destination lookup. The latter two cases currently
results in a code path that is perceived as complex, because it
follows a deep call chain via obscure functions such as
net_route_named_msg() and net_route_msg().

We now introduce a function, tipc_msg_eval(), that takes the
decision about whether such a message should be rejected or
forwarded, but leaves it to the caller to actually perform
the indicated action.

If the decision is 'reject', it is still the task of the recently
introduced function tipc_msg_reverse() to take the final decision
about whether the message is rejectable or not. In the latter case
it drops the message.

As a result of this change, we can finally eliminate the function
net_route_named_msg(), and hence become independent of net_route_msg().

8db1bae30b tipc: separate building and sending of rejected messages
The way we build and send rejected message is currenty perceived as
hard to follow, partly because we let the transmission go via deep
call chains through functions such as tipc_reject_msg() and
net_route_msg().

We want to remove those functions, and make the call sequences shallower
and simpler. For this purpose, we separate building and sending of
rejected messages. We build the reject message using the new function
tipc_msg_reverse(), and let the transmission go via the newly introduced
tipc_link_xmit2() function, as all transmission eventually will do. We
also ensure that all calls to tipc_link_xmit2() are made outside
port_lock/bh_lock_sock.

Finally, we replace all calls to tipc_reject_msg() with the two new
calls at all locations in the code that we want to keep. The remaining
calls are made from code that we are planning to remove, along with
tipc_reject_msg() itself.

067608e9d0 tipc: introduce direct iovec to buffer chain fragmentation function
Fragmentation at message sending is currently performed in two
places in link.c, depending on whether data to be transmitted
is delivered in the form of an iovec or as a big sk_buff. Those
functions are also tightly entangled with the send functions
that are using them.

We now introduce a re-entrant, standalone function, tipc_msg_build2(),
that builds a packet chain directly from an iovec. Each fragment is
sized according to the MTU value given by the caller, and is prepended
with a correctly built fragment header, when needed. The function is
independent from who is calling and where the chain will be delivered,
as long as the caller is able to indicate a correct MTU.

The function is tested, but not called by anybody yet. Since it is
incompatible with the existing tipc_msg_build(), and we cannot yet
remove that function, we have given it a temporary name.

16e166b88c tipc: make link mtu easily accessible from socket
Message fragmentation is currently performed at link level, inside
the protection of node_lock. This potentially binds up the sending
link structure for a long time, instead of letting it do other tasks,
such as handle reception of new packets.

In this commit, we make the MTUs of each active link become easily
accessible from the socket level, i.e., without taking any spinlock
or dereferencing the target link pointer. This way, we make it possible
to perform fragmentation in the sending socket, before sending the
whole fragment chain to the link for transport.

4f1688b2c6 tipc: introduce send functions for chained buffers in link
The current link implementation provides several different transmit
functions, depending on the characteristics of the message to be
sent: if it is an iovec or an sk_buff, if it needs fragmentation or
not, if the caller holds the node_lock or not. The permutation of
these options gives us an unwanted amount of unnecessarily complex
code.

As a first step towards simplifying the send path for all messages,
we introduce two new send functions at link level, tipc_link_xmit2()
and __tipc_link_xmit2(). The former looks up a link to the message
destination, and if one is found, it grabs the node lock and calls
the second function, which works exclusively inside the node lock
protection. If no link is found, and the destination is on the same
node, it delivers the message directly to the local destination
socket.

The new functions take a buffer chain where all packet headers are
already prepared, and the correct MTU has been used. These two
functions will later replace all other link-level transmit functions.

The functions are not backwards compatible, so we have added them
as new functions with temporary names. They are tested, but have no
users yet. Those will be added later in this series.

e4de5fab80 tipc: use negative error return values in functions
In some places, TIPC functions returns positive integers as return
codes. This goes against standard Linux coding practice, and may
even cause problems in some cases.

We now change the return values of the functions filter_rcv()
and filter_connect() to become signed integers, and return
negative error codes when needed. The codes we use in these
particular cases are still TIPC specific, since they are both
part of the TIPC API and have no correspondence in errno.h

3d09fc4244 tipc: eliminate case of writing to freed memory
In the function tipc_nodesub_notify() we call a function pointer
aggregated into the object to be notified, whereafter we set
the function pointer to NULL. However, in some cases the function
pointed to will free the struct containing the function pointer,
resulting in a write to already freed memory.

This bug seems to always have been there, without causing any
notable harm.

In this commit we fix the problem by inverting the order of the
zeroing and the function call.

f886497212 ipv4: fix dst race in sk_dst_get()
When IP route cache had been removed in linux-3.6, we broke assumption
that dst entries were all freed after rcu grace period. DST_NOCACHE
dst were supposed to be freed from dst_release(). But it appears
we want to keep such dst around, either in UDP sockets or tunnels.

In sk_dst_get() we need to make sure dst refcount is not 0
before incrementing it, or else we might end up freeing a dst
twice.

DST_NOCACHE set on a dst does not mean this dst can not be attached
to a socket or a tunnel.

Then, before actual freeing, we need to observe a rcu grace period
to make sure all other cpus can catch the fact the dst is no longer
usable.

Split sched scan IEs to band specific and not band specific
blocks. Common IEs blocks may be sent to the FW once per command,
instead of per band.

This allows optimization of size of the command, which may be
required by some drivers (eg. iwlmvm with newer firmware version).

As this changes the mac80211 API, update all drivers to use the
new version correctly, even if they don't (yet) make use of the
split data.

Some drivers (such as iwlmvm) can handle multiple bands in a single
HW scan request. Add a HW flag to indicate that the driver support
this. To hold the required data, create a separate structure for
HW scan request that holds cfg scan request and data about
different parts of the scan IEs.

As this changes the mac80211 API, update all drivers using it to
use the correct new function type/argument.

02df00eb00 nl80211: move set_qos_map command into split state
The non-split wiphy state shouldn't be increased in size
so move the new set_qos_map command into the split if
statement.
