3def927ea8 mfd: twl-core: API to set the regcache bypass for a given regmap in twl
If the regcache is enabled on the regmap module drivers might need to access
to HW register(s) in certain cases in cache bypass mode.
As an example of this is the audio block's ANAMICL register. In normal
operation the content can be cached but during initialization one bit from
the register need to be monitored. With the twl_set_regcache_bypass() the
client driver can switch regcache bypass on and off when it is needed so
we can utilize the regcache for more registers.

8daf354065 mfd: twl-core: Simplify IO wrapper functions by moving common code out
The new twl_get_regmap() function will return a pointer to the regmap needed

Since both read and write function were using the same code to do the lookup
we can reuse this in both places to simplify the code.

22b5a6c0c0 GFS2: For exhash conversion, only one block is needed
For most cases, only a single new block is needed when we reach
the point of converting from stuffed to exhash directory. The
exception being when the file name is so long that it will not
fit within the new leaf block.

So this patch adds a simple test for that situation so that we
do not need to request the full reservation size in this case.

Potentially we could calculate more accurately the value to use
in other cases too, but that is much more complicated to do and
it is doubtful that the benefit would outweigh the extra cost
in code complexity.

43a8e50a46 ALSA: hda - Don't create duplicated ctls for loopback paths
AD1986A mic pins (0x1d and 0x1f) share the same widget for controlling
the loopback volume/mute, but the generic parser didn't check it.
This ended up with the duplicated controls for the same effect.

This patch adds the check of the duplication for avoiding it.

After this fix, there will be only one control although it affects
both paths; this remaining issue should be fixed later in a different
patch.

7546abfb8e ALSA: hda - Increment default stream numbers for AMD HDMI controllers
It turned out that some AMD HDMI controllers still don't provide
proper values in GCAP register (all zero), and the driver assigns only
one stream in that case, although the connected codec chip supports
more than one stream.

In this patch, the default max number of streams for AMD HDMI
controllers is increased to 8, which should suffice for most use
cases. The overhead by this increase is more azx_dev struct and BDL
allocations, so it's negligible. Of course, if the controller
provides a proper GCAP register, the register value would be used.

Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates

This series contains updates to i40e only.

Anjali adds more functionality to debugfs to assist development and
testing of admin queue commands.

Greg makes sure broadcast promiscuous is disabled by default, otherwise
VLAN tagged packets out of the assigned VLAN domain are received. Also
provides a fix when the 8021q driver is loaded, so that VLAN 0 tagged
packets are accepted so that upper layers can interpret the priority
bits. Then provides a fix to let the VF to request the PF to set its
already assigned MAC address without generating an error. Greg also
adds helper functions to enable or disable internal switch loopback
when VFs are created or destroyed via the sysfs interface.

Shannon provides most of the changes, where he adds code to ensure
that the hardware waits to make sure that the firmware is ready as well
after reset. Also updates the code to use the new features in the
firmware. Provides a fix while in MFP mode where resources are
reduced, so use a smaller range of test registers than when in SFP mode.
Moves the PF ID initialization code to earlier in the driver
initialization function since a few operations need the information
before the first PF reset is called. Shannon adds a check for MAC
type before reading anything from the registers to ensure we dealing
with the correct MAC type. Then reworks Shadow RAM read word/buffer
functions as to not block whole NVM resources for SR read operations.

Mitch lastly provides a fix to correctly setup ARQ descriptors in
the cleanup code.

Catherine bumps the driver version due to all the recent changes.

5d2f4767c4 drm/nouveau/bios: fix offset calculation for BMPv1 bioses
The only BIOS on record that needs the 14 offset has a bios major
version 2 but BMP version 1.01. Another bunch of BIOSes that need the 18
offset have BMP version 2.01 or 5.01 or higher. So instead of looking at the
bios major version, look at the BMP version. BIOSes with BMP version 0
do not contain a detectable script, so always return 0 for them.

fb5566da91 f2fs: improve write performance under frequent fsync calls
When considering a bunch of data writes with very frequent fsync calls, we
are able to think the following performance regression.

N: Node IO, D: Data IO, IO scheduler: cfq

Issue pending IOs
	 D1 D2 D3 D4
 D1 D2 D3 D4 N1
 D2 D3 D4 N1 N2
 N1 D3 D4 N2 D1
--> N1 can be selected by cfq becase of the same priority of N and D.
Then D3 and D4 would be delayed, resuling in performance degradation.

So, when processing the fsync call, it'd better give higher priority to data IOs
than node IOs by assigning WRITE and WRITE_SYNC respectively.
This patch improves the random wirte performance with frequent fsync calls by up
to 10%.

7e664b3dec dm space map metadata: fix extending the space map
When extending a metadata space map we should do the first commit whilst
still in bootstrap mode -- a mode where all blocks get allocated in the
new area.

That way the commit overhead is allocated from the newly added space.
Otherwise we risk running out of space.

With this fix, and the previous commit "dm space map common: make sure
new space is used during extend", the following device mapper testsuite
test passes:
 dmtest run --suite thin-provisioning -n /resize_metadata_no_io/

12c91a5c2d dm space map common: make sure new space is used during extend
When extending a low level space map we should update nr_blocks at
the start so the new space is used for the index entries.

Otherwise extend can fail, e.g.: sm_metadata_extend call sequence
that fails:
 -> sm_ll_extend
    -> dm_tm_new_block -> dm_sm_new_block -> sm_bootstrap_new_block
    => returns -ENOSPC because smm->begin == smm->ll.nr_blocks

be35f48610 dm: wait until embedded kobject is released before destroying a device
There may be other parts of the kernel holding a reference on the dm
kobject. We must wait until all references are dropped before
deallocating the mapped_device structure.

The dm_kobject_release method signals that all references are dropped
via completion. But dm_kobject_release doesn't free the kobject (which
is embedded in the mapped_device structure).

This is the sequence of operations:
* when destroying a DM device, call kobject_put from dm_sysfs_exit
* wait until all users stop using the kobject, when it happens the
  release method is called
* the release method signals the completion and should return without
  delay
* the dm device removal code that waits on the completion continues
* the dm device removal code drops the dm_mod reference the device had
* the dm device removal code frees the mapped_device structure that
  contains the kobject

Using kobject this way should avoid the module unload race that was
mentioned at the beginning of this thread:

98e5491731 Staging: vt6656: Reduce line length of bssdb.c
Long lines are split into multiple ones to reduce the line length.
Additionally some alignment fixes are made that previous patches
missed.

Unfortunately, due to the high indentation levels present in parts of
bssdb.c, this patch leaves some lines which are longer than 80
characters.
