bff82038ca spi: s3c64xx: Added support for exynos5440 spi
This patch adds support for the exynos5440 spi controller.
The integration of the spi IP in exynos5440 is different from
other SoC's. The I/O pins are no more configured via gpio, they
have dedicated pins.

3146beec21 spi: s3c64xx: Added provision for dedicated cs pin
The existing driver supports gpio based /cs signal.
For controller's that have one device per controller,
the slave device's /cs signal might be internally controlled
by the chip select bit of slave select register. They are not
externally asserted/deasserted using gpio pin.

This patch adds support for controllers with dedicated /cs pin.
if "cs-gpio" property doesnt exist in a spi dts node, the controller
would treat the /cs pin as dedicated.

74f3aaad21 spi: omap2-mcspi: convert to dma_request_slave_channel_compat()
Convert dmaengine channel requests to use
dma_request_slave_channel_compat(). This supports the DT case of
platforms requiring channel selection from either the OMAP DMA or
the EDMA engine. AM33xx only boots from DT and is the only user
implementing EDMA so in the !DT case we can default to the OMAP DMA
filter.

c5dece37c5 ARM: sirf: use CONFIG_SIRF rather than CONFIG_PRIMA2 where necessary
I got a build error today that made me realize that it is not
possible to build a kernel for a SiRF platform without enabling
CONFIG_PRIMA2, since a lot of common code depends on CONFIG_PRIMA2.

This fixes all occurences that appear like common SiRF code.

7e9955567e spi: s3c64xx: added support for polling mode
The 64xx spi driver supports partial polling mode.
Only the last chunk of the transfer length is transferred
or recieved in polling mode.

Some SoC's that adopt this controller might not have have dma
interface. This patch adds support for complete polling mode
and gives flexibity for the user to select poll/dma mode.

d33f473dcd spi: omap2-mcspi: Add FIFO buffer support
The MCSPI controller has a built-in FIFO buffer to unload the DMA or interrupt
handler and improve data throughput. This patch adds FIFO buffer support for SPI
transfers in DMA mode.

For SPI transfers in DMA mode, the largest possible FIFO buffer size will be
calculated and set up. The FIFO won't be used for the SPI transfers in DMA mode
if: calculated FIFO buffer size is less then 2 bytes or the FIFO buffer size
isn't multiple of the SPI word length.

dbd897b9c6 spi: pl022: use DMA by default when probing from DT
In the past we controlled the selection of DMA for a certain
host by a boolean switch in the platform data. Currently
there is no way to enable DMA on a PL022 probed from the
device tree. Let's default to trying to obtain DMA channels
in the DT case, and then we can always fail (and thus fall
back to PIO mode).

Introduce mcspi_bytes_per_word function as replacement for the next code
fragment:

This code used 2 times in current driver code and will be used 2 times in

6c6cf64b16 spi: s3c64xx: Fix pm_runtime_get_sync() return value check
If the device is already in a runtime PM enabled state
pm_runtime_get_sync() will return 1, so a test for negative
value should be used to check for errors.

Without this patch there are seen errors like:

Likely because the driver uses synchronous API to runtime enable
the device and asynchronous one to disable it.

9ddebc46e7 MIPS: OCTEON: Rename Kconfig CAVIUM_OCTEON_REFERENCE_BOARD to CAVIUM_OCTEON_SOC
CAVIUM_OCTEON_SOC most place we used to use CPU_CAVIUM_OCTEON.  This
allows us to CPU_CAVIUM_OCTEON in places where we have no OCTEON SOC.

Remove CAVIUM_OCTEON_SIMULATOR as it doesn't really do anything, we can
get the same configuration with CAVIUM_OCTEON_SOC.

e33d085d11 spi: spi-xilinx: cleanup a check in xilinx_spi_txrx_bufs()
'!' has higher precedence than comparisons so the original condition
is equivalent to "if (xspi->remaining_bytes == 0)".  This makes the
static checkers complain.

xspi->remaining_bytes is signed and from looking at the code
briefly, I think it might be able to go negative.  I suspect that
going negative may cause a bug, but I don't have the hardware and
can't test.

68c315bb95 spi: spi-xilinx: Remove ISR race condition
The ISR currently consumes the rx buffer data and re-enables transmission
from within interrupt context. This is bad because if the interrupt
occurs again before the ISR exits, the new interrupt will be erroneously
cleared by the still completing ISR.

Simplified the ISR by just setting the completion variable and exiting with
no action. Then just looped the transmit functionality in
xilinx_spi_txrx_bufs().

the SPI subsystem recently grew support to queue messages before handing
them to the SPI master, and erroneously emitted deprecation warnings
when the SPI master's driver did not use the common logic (in fact the
master might queue messages, but implement the queue in the master
driver's source)

5df24ea63d spi: mpc512x: improve throughput in the RX/TX func
change the MPC512x SPI controller's transmission routine to increase
throughput: allow the RX byte counter to "lag behind" the TX byte
counter while iterating over the transfer's data, only wait for the
remaining RX bytes at the very end of the transfer

this approach eliminates delays in the milliseconds range, transfer
times for e.g. 16MB of SPI flash data dropped from 31s to 9s, correct
operation was tested by continuously transferring and comparing data
from an SPI flash (more than 200GB in some 45 hours)

background information on the motivation:

one might assume that all the RX data should have been received when the
TX data was sent, given the fact that we are the SPI master and provide
all of the clock, but in practise there's a difference

the ISR is triggered when the TX FIFO became empty, while transmission
of the last item still occurs (from the TX hold and shift registers),
sampling RX data on the opposite clock edge compared to the TX data adds
another delay (half a bit period), and RX data needs to propagate from
the reception buffer to the RX FIFO depending on the specific SoC
implementation

to cut it short: a difference between TX and RX byte counters during
transmission is not just acceptable but should be considered the regular
case, only the very end of the transfer needs to make sure that all of
the RX data was received before deasserting the chip select and telling
the caller that transmission has completed

45f0a85c82 PM / Runtime: Rework the "runtime idle" helper routine
The "runtime idle" helper routine, rpm_idle(), currently ignores
return values from .runtime_idle() callbacks executed by it.
However, it turns out that many subsystems use
pm_generic_runtime_idle() which checks the return value of the
driver's callback and executes pm_runtime_suspend() for the device
unless that value is not 0.  If that logic is moved to rpm_idle()
instead, pm_generic_runtime_idle() can be dropped and its users
will not need any .runtime_idle() callbacks any more.

Moreover, the PCI, SCSI, and SATA subsystems' .runtime_idle()
routines, pci_pm_runtime_idle(), scsi_runtime_idle(), and
ata_port_runtime_idle(), respectively, as well as a few drivers'
ones may be simplified if rpm_idle() calls rpm_suspend() after 0 has
been returned by the .runtime_idle() callback executed by it.

To reduce overall code bloat, make the changes described above.

5b547a7540 spi: pl022: use DMA by default when probing from DT
In the past we controlled the selection of DMA for a certain
host by a boolean switch in the platform data. Currently
there is no way to enable DMA on a PL022 probed from the
device tree. Let's default to trying to obtain DMA channels
in the DT case, and then we can always fail (and thus fall
back to PIO mode).

237ce4665c spi: sirf: fix the issue while transferring more than 256 words
currently, spi irq handler only does rx processing and fetching data from rx
fifo when "FRM_END" irq happens. FRM_END indicates one transfer completes. if
rx size is less than 256, it works well.
but the problem is that spi rx fifo size is only 256 bytes, then if data size
of one frame is more than 256, before FRM_END comes, rx fifo will be filled with
RXFIFO_OFLOW overflow interrupt, it will make us lose some data due to fifo
overflow.
Explicitly we need do fetch work from device rx fifo in irq handler not only in
"FRM_END" irq but also in "THD_REACH" irq. THD_REACH means rx fifo has come to
its threshold and will come to overflow if we don't take data from it in time.

In this patch, we fix this issue. we take data from rx fifo when either FRM_END
or RX_THD_REACH irq comes, we put data into tx fifo when either TX_FIFO_EMPTY
or TX_THD_REACH irq comes.

  follows platform_get_resource directly.  The previous version tried to
  shuffle code if needed, too, what lead to an embarrasing bug.  It
  turned out to me that shuffling code for all cases found will make the
  automated script too complex, so I am unsure if an automated cleanup
  is the proper tool for this case.  Removing the easy stuff seems
  worthwhile to me, though.

  Despite various architectures and platform dependencies, I managed to
  compile test 45 out of 57 modified files locally using heuristics and
  defconfigs."

 However, it is not trivial to just create a branch to remove it. Over
 the course of the v3.9 cycle more code referencing GENERIC_GPIO has been
 added to linux-next that conflicts with this branch. The following must
 be done to resolve the conflicts when merging this branch into mainline:

1ccc404a7f spi/spi-atmel: add dmaengine support
Add dmaengine support.

Using "has_dma_support" member of struct is used to select
the transfer mode: dmaengine or pdc.

For the dmaengine transfer mode, it supports both 8 bits and 16 bits transfer.

For the dmaengine transfer mode, if it fails to config dmaengine,
or if the message length is less than 16 bytes, it will use the PIO transfer mode.

This is a series originally prepared for inclusion in 3.9, which did
not work out because of dependencies on the dmaengine driver. All the
changes for the dmaengine code are merged in 3.9 now, so we can finally
do the switchover and remove the now unnecessary dma definitions for
spear13xx from the platform code.

The dma platform_data actually made up the majority of the spear13xx
platform code overall, so moving that into device tree files makes the
code substantially smaller.

The multiplatform conversion in commit 788437 (spi: s3c64xx: move to
generic dmaengine API) tested for the use of the Samsung-specific DMA
API with SAMSUNG_DMADEV when in fact S3C_DMA should be used. This
renderd DMA based transfers non-functional on platforms not using
dmaengine.

ddc5cdf161 spi: omap2-mcspi: Fix transfers if DMADEVICES is not set
Selecting CONFIG_DMADEVICES is optional, and we must
be able to continue even without DMA. Otherwise things
like omap4430sdp nfsroot will fail if DMA is not
selected.

Note that the driver already supports PIO mode, but
we fail to fall back to PIO if requesting DMA channels
fails.

788437273f spi: s3c64xx: move to generic dmaengine API
The spi-s3c64xx uses a Samsung proprietary interface for
talking to the DMA engine, which does not work with
multiplatform kernels.

This version of the patch leaves the old code in place,
behind an #ifdef. This can be removed in the future,
after the s3c64xx platform start supporting the regular
dmaengine interface. An earlier version of this patch was
tested successfully on exynos5250 by Padma Venkat.

The conversion was rather mechanical, since the samsung
interface is just a shallow wrapper around the dmaengine
interface.

6b8cc3306e spi-gpio: init CS before spi_bitbang_setup()
spi_bitbang_setup() deasserts the chip select line to initialise
the device. The chip select GPIO line is obtained from
spi_gpio->cs_gpios[] private data.
Currently, devices that are not registered under devicetree
environment will call into spi_bitbang_setup() with stale
cs_gpios[].

This patch ensures spi_gpio->cs_gpios[] is always initialised prior
to calling spi_bitbang_setup().

8ec5d84ef5 spi: Return error from of_spi_register_master on bad "cs-gpios" property
This makes sure that an error is returned on an incorrectly formed
"cs-gpios" property, but reports success when the "cs-gpios" property is
well formed or missing.

When holes in the cs-gpios property phandle list is used to indicate
that some other form of chipselect is to be used it is important that
failure to read a broken "cs-gpios" property does not silently fail
leading to the spi controller to use an unintended chipselect.

446411e18b spi: Initialize cs_gpio and cs_gpios with -ENOENT
The return value from of_get_named_gpio is -ENOENT when the given index
matches a hole in the "cs-gpios" property phandle list. However, the
default value of cs_gpio in struct spi_device and entries of cs_gpios in
struct spi_master is -EINVAL, which is documented to indicate that a
GPIO line should not be used for the given spi_device.

This sets the default value of cs_gpio in struct spi_device and entries
of cs_gpios in struct spi_master to -ENOENT. Thus, -ENOENT is the only
value used to indicate that no GPIO line should be used.

447b0c7b93 spi/spi-fsl-spi: Add support for Aeroflex Gaisler GRLIB cores normally running on SPARC
This adds support for the mostly register-compatible SPICTRL cores from the
GRLIB VHDL IP core library from Aeroflex Gaisler. They are normally running on
SPARC. A different entry in of_fsl_spi_match matches this core and indicates a
different hardware type that is used to set up different function pointers and
special cases.

The GRLIB core operates in cpu mode. The number of bits per word might be
limited. There might be native chipselects selected via a slave select
register. These differences to the FSL type cores, if present, are indicated by
a capabilities register. Other register and function differences exists but are
not relevant to the driver.

with the ACPI device node corresponding to its parent as the
second "physical_device", which is incorrect (this happens during
the registration of struct spi_master).  Consequently,
acpi_register_spi_devices() should use the ACPI handle of the
parent of the struct spi_master it is called for rather than that
struct spi_master's ACPI handle (which should be NULL).

Make that happen and modify the spi-pxa2xx driver, which currently is
the only driver for ACPI-enumerated SPI controller chips, not to set
the ACPI handle for the struct spi_master it creates.

1ad849aee5 spi/mpc512x-psc: optionally keep PSC SS asserted across xfer segmensts
Some SPI slave devices require asserted chip select signal across
multiple transfer segments of an SPI message. Currently the driver
always de-asserts the internal SS signal for every single transfer
segment of the message and ignores the 'cs_change' flag of the
transfer description. Disable the internal chip select (SS) only
if this is needed and indicated by the 'cs_change' flag.

Without this change, each partial transfer of a surrounding
multi-part SPI transaction might erroneously change the SS
signal, which might prevent slaves from answering the request
that was sent in a previous transfer segment because the
transaction could be considered aborted (SS was de-asserted
before reading the response).

The status of the interrupt is available in the status register,
so reading the clear pending register and writing back the same
value will not actually clear the pending interrupts. This patch
modifies the interrupt handler to read the status register and

Modified the hwInit function to clear all the pending interrupts.

simply as SPI0, and the other known as the "Universal SPI Master", in
the auxilliary block) and one form of SPI slave controller. This patch

dc715452e9 spi: pl022: use generic DMA slave configuration if possible
With the new OF DMA binding, it is possible to completely avoid the
need for platform_data for configuring a DMA channel. In cases where the
platform has already been converted, calling dma_request_slave_channel
should get all the necessary information from the device tree.

Like the patch that converts the dw_dma controller, this is completely
untested and is looking for someone to try it out.

e80beb27d2 gpio: Make of_count_named_gpios() use new of_count_phandle_with_args()
This patch replaces the horribly coded of_count_named_gpios() with a
call to of_count_phandle_with_args() which is far more efficient. This
also changes the return value of of_gpio_count() & of_gpio_named_count()
from 'unsigned int' to 'int' so that it can return an error code. All
the users of that function are fixed up to correctly handle a negative
return value.

a0d2642e92 spi/pxa2xx: add support for Intel Low Power Subsystem SPI
Intel LPSS SPI is pretty much the same as the PXA27xx SPI except that it
has few additional features over the original:

	o FIFO depth is 256 entries
	o RX FIFO has one watermark
	o TX FIFO has two watermarks, low and high
	o chip select can be controlled by writing to a register

The new FIFO registers follow immediately the PXA27xx registers but then there
are some additional LPSS private registers at offset 1k or 2k from the base
address. For these private registers we add new accessors that take advantage
of drv_data->lpss_base once it is resolved.

We add a new type LPSS_SSP that can be used to distinguish the LPSS devices
from others.

5928808ef6 spi/pxa2xx: add support for DMA engine
To be able to use DMA with this driver on non-PXA platforms we implement
support for the generic DMA engine API. This lets user to use different DMA
engines with little or no modification to the driver.

Request lines and channel numbers can be passed to the driver from the
platform specific data.

The DMA engine implementation will be selected by default even on PXA
platform. User can select the legacy DMA API by enabling Kconfig option
CONFIG_SPI_PXA2XX_PXADMA.

cd7bed0034 spi/pxa2xx: break out the private DMA API usage into a separate file
The PXA SPI driver uses PXA platform specific private DMA implementation
which does not work on non-PXA platforms. In order to use this driver on
other platforms we break out the private DMA implementation into a separate
file that gets compiled only when CONFIG_SPI_PXA2XX_PXADMA is set. The DMA
functions are stubbed out if there is no DMA implementation selected (i.e
we are building on non-PXA platform).

While we are there we can kill the dummy DMA bits in pxa2xx_spi.h as they
are not needed anymore for CE4100.

Once this is done we can add the generic DMA engine support to the driver
that allows usage of any DMA controller that implements DMA engine API.

9f3b795a62 driver-core: constify data for class_find_device()
All in-kernel users of class_find_device() don't really need mutable
data for match callback.

In two places (kernel/power/suspend_test.c, drivers/scsi/osd/osd_uld.c)
this patch changes match callbacks to use const search data.

The const is propagated to rtc_class_open() and power_supply_get_by_name()
parameters.

Note that there's a dev reference leak in suspend_test.c that's not
touched in this patch.

7410e84858 spi/ath79: add shutdown handler
The SPI controller of the AR7xxx/AR9xxx SoCs
have a special mode which allows the SoC to
directly read data from SPI flash chips. In
this mode, the content of the SPI flash chip
can be accessed via a memory mapped region.

During early init time, the kernel expects
that the flash chip is accessible through
that memory region because it reads board
specific values (e.g. MAC address, WiFi
calibration data) from the flash on various
boards.

This is working if the kernel is loaded
directly by the bootloader because that
leaves the SPI controller in the special
mode. However it is not working in a kexec'd
kernel because the SPI driver does not restore
the special mode during shutdown.

The patch adds a shutdown handler to fix this
issue.

b17de07606 spi/bcm63xx: work around inability to keep CS up
This SPI controller does not support keeping CS asserted after sending
a transfer.
Since messages expected on this SPI controller are rather short, we can
work around it for normal use cases by sending all transfers at once in
a big full duplex stream.

This means that we cannot change the speed between transfers if they
require CS to be kept asserted, but these would have been rejected
before anyway because of the inability of keeping CS asserted.

32310aaf5c spi/davinci: use request_threaded_irq() to fix deadlock
With RT pre-empt patch applied to Linux kernel, the irq handler will be
force converted to an irq thread. spi driver can get back to back messages
from the slave device. In such cases, IRQ thread doesn't get a chance to
run to read the slave data. Hence the irq handler must be run in hard irq
context to read/write data from slave device. Otherwise, the kernel goes
into a deadlock. This patch fixes this issue when PREEMPT_RT_FULL is
enabled in the kernel. A dummy thread function is provided to satisfy the
request_threaded_irq() API. Passing a NULL for function also causes the
irq handler to be executed in the thread context.

2deff8d602 spi: Remove erroneous __init, __exit and __exit_p() references in drivers
Some of the spi driver module remove hooks were annotated with __exit
and referenced with __exit_p(). Presumably these were supposed to be
__devinit, __devexit and __devexit_p() since __init/__exit for a
probe/remove hook has never been correct. They also got missed during
the big __devinit/__devexit purge since they didn't match the pattern.
Remove then now to be rid of it.

c4a31f4300 spi/ath79: avoid multiple initialization of the SPI controller
Currently we are initializing the SPI controller in
the chip select line function, and that function is
called once for each SPI device on the bus. If a
board has multiple SPI devices, the controller will
be initialized multiple times.

Introduce ath79_spi_{en,dis}able helper functions,
and call those from probe/response in order to avoid
the mutliple initialization of the controller.

The 'ath79_spi_txrx_mode0' function does not
set the SCK signal to LOW at the end of a word
transfer. This causes communications errors with

ba486a2a29 mxs/spi: clear XFER_COUNT in ctrl0 field in DMA descriptor
On MX23 the XFER_COUNT part in ctrl0 field in DMA descriptor was
improperly OR'd during the construction of DMA descriptor chain, instead
of being freshly set.  Because of that too many bytes were being
expected from SPI during the last DMA cycle.  This caused a timeout
(SSP_TIMEOUT) to happen in the processing of the last DMA descriptor,
and thus reads and writes were failing.  This is a fix for the problem,
by clearing XFER_COUNT bytes in ctrl0 before setting the new XFER_COUNT
for DMA descriptor.

766ed70447 spi: remove check for bits_per_word on transfer from low level driver
The spi core make sure that each transfer structure have the proper
setting for bits_per_word before calling low level transfer APIs.

Hence it is no more require to check again in low level driver for
this field whether this is set correct or not. Removing such code
from low level driver.

The txx9 change also removes a test for bits_per_word set to 0, and
forcing it to 8 in that case. This can also be removed now since
spi_setup() ensures spi->bits_per_word is not zero.

bb29785e0d spi/of: Use DT aliases for assigning bus number
Linux assigns a number to each spi_master in the system, but when the
platform used the device tree, the numbers are dynamically assigned and
are not predictable. In general this shouldn't matter since the kernel
doesn't use the bus number for anything other than matching a bus to
spi_boardinfo (not used for DT). However, sometimes userspace needs to
figure out which bus is which, so it makes sense to use the global
/aliases namespace to choose a specific bus number.

It is safe to derive the bus number from an alias because aliases will
never cause two buses to try and use the same bus number. (At one time
the cell-index property was used for this purpose, but cell-index has
the risk of an id collision).

5cbc7ca987 spi: spi-omap2-mcspi.c: Toggle CS after each word
This patch allows the board code to define SPI devices which needs to
toggle the chip select after every word send. This is needed to get a
better resolution reading e.g. an ADC data stream.
Apart from that, as in the normal code CS is controlled by software,
a transfer is done much faster.

Convert clk_enable() to clk_prepare_enable() and clk_disable() to
clk_disable_unprepare() respectively in order to support the common clk
framework. Otherwise we get warnings on the console as the clock is not
prepared before it is enabled.

In addition we must cache the maximum clock rate to drv_data->max_clk_rate
at probe time because clk_get_rate() cannot be called in tasklet context.

Convert all uses of devm_request_and_ioremap() to the newly introduced
devm_ioremap_resource() which provides more consistent error handling.

devm_ioremap_resource() provides its own error messages so all explicit
error messages can be removed from the failure code paths.

6d1f56aa51 drivers/spi: remove depends on CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL
The CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL config item has not carried much meaning for a
while now and is almost always enabled by default. As agreed during the

851bacf590 spi/pxa2xx: embed the ssp_device to platform data
The spi-pxa2xx-pci glue driver had to implement pxa_ssp_request()/free() in
order to support the spi-pxa2xx platform driver. Since the ACPI enabled
platforms can use the same platform driver we would need to implement
pxa_ssp_request()/free() in some central place that can be shared by the
ACPI and PCI glue code.

Instead of doing that we can make pxa_ssp_request()/free() to be available
only when CONFIG_ARCH_PXA is set. On other arches these are being stubbed
out in preference to passing the ssp_device from the platform data
directly.

We also change the SPI bus number to be taken from ssp->port_id instead of
platform device id. This way the supporting code that passes the ssp can
decide the number (or it can set it to the same as pdev->id).

0202775bc3 spi/pxa2xx-pci: switch to use pcim_* interfaces
Instead of open-coding all the error management in the driver we can take
advantage of the pcim_* interfaces that release the resources automatically.

We also use platform_device_register_full() to register the platform device
because it allows us to create and register the platform device at one go,
simplifying the error management.

This a preparatory step for getting rid of pxa_ssp_request()/free() which
we will do in the next patch.

fd4a319bc9 spi: Remove HOTPLUG section attributes
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option.  As result the __dev*
markings will be going away.

Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst,
and __devexit.

Bill Pemberton has done most of the legwork on this series. I've used
his script to purge the attributes from the drivers/gpio tree.

b3a223ee2d spi: Remove SPI_BUFSIZ restriction on spi_write_then_read()
In order to avoid constantly allocating and deallocating there is a fixed
buffer which spi_write_then_read() uses for transfers, with an early error
check to ensure that the transfer fits within the buffer. This limits the
size of transfers to this size, currently max(32, SMP_CACHE_BYTES).

Since we can dynamically allocate and in fact already have a fallback
to do so when there is contention for the fixed buffer remove this
restriction and instead dynamically allocate a suitably sized buffer if
the transfer won't fit.

161b96c383 spi/clps711x: New SPI master driver
This patch add new driver for CLPS711X SPI master controller.
Due to platform limitations driver supports only 8 bit transfer mode.
Chip select control is handled via GPIO.

64bee4d28c spi / ACPI: add ACPI enumeration support
ACPI 5 introduced SPISerialBus resource that allows us to enumerate and
configure the SPI slave devices behind the SPI controller. This patch adds
support for this to the SPI core.

In addition we bind ACPI nodes to SPI devices. This makes it possible for
the slave drivers to get the ACPI handle for further configuration.

f3b6159e6a of/spi: Honour "status=disabled" property of device
Currently of_register_spi_devices() function registers all SPI devices,
independetly from their status property in device tree. According to
"ePAPR 1.1" spec, device should only be registered if there is no
"status" property, or it has "ok" (or "okay") value (see
of_device_is_available()). In case of "platform devices",
of_platform_device_create_pdata() checks for "status" and ensures
that disabled devices are not pupulated. But such check for SPI buses
was missing until now. Fix it.

ce32930586 spi/sh-hspi: add CS manual control support
The current HSPI driver used automatic CS control, leading to CS
active for each byte transmitted. This patch changes the driver
to manual CS control, and ensures CS is active thoughout a whole
message. Additionally, it uses the cs_change field to determine
if CS is disabled between transfers in the message.

7431798490 of_spi: add generic binding support to specify cs gpio
This will allow to use gpio for chip select with no modification in the
driver binding

When use the cs-gpios, the gpio number will be passed via the cs_gpio field
and the number of chip select will automatically increased with max(hw cs, gpio cs).

So if for example the controller has 2 CS lines, and the cs-gpios
property looks like this:

cs-gpios = <&gpio1 0 0> <0> <&gpio1 1 0> <&gpio1 2 0>;

Then it should be configured so that num_chipselect = 4 with the
following mapping:

cs0 : &gpio1 0 0
cs1 : native
cs2 : &gpio1 1 0
cs3 : &gpio1 2 0

2cd451792d spi/omap: fix D0/D1 direction confusion
0384e90b8 ("spi/mcspi: allow configuration of pin directions") did what
it claimed to do the wrong way around. D0/D1 is configured as output by
*clearing* the bits in the conf registers, hence also breaking the
former default behaviour.

Fix this before that change is merged to mainline.

caae070c48 spi: Dont call master->setup if not populated
Currently the master->setup() is called unconditionally.
The assumption is that every driver need to implement this
callback. This encourages drivers to populate empty functions
to prevent crashing.

This patch prevents the call of master->setup() if it is not
populated.

e6811d1d7a spi: make sure all transfer has bits_per_word set
When spi client does the spi transfer and does not sets
the bits_per_word for each transfer then set it as default
of spi device in spi core before calling low level transfer.

Removing the similar code from spi-tegra20-slink driver as
it is not required.

45e5033851 spi: s3c64xx: Add fix for crash in spi suspend/resume
The SPI driver makes a gpio_request during initialization. The requested
gpios need to be populated as part of the s3c64xx_spi_driver_data so that
they can be released during suspend and requested again during resume.

Add the missing code to save the requested gpios as part of the driver
data. This fixes a SPI driver suspend crash.
