ACPI_PTR() is more harmful than helpful. For example, in this case
if CONFIG_ACPI=n, the ID table left unused which is not what we want.
Instead of adding ifdeffery here and there, drop ACPI_PTR() and
replace acpi.h with mod_devicetable.h.

Shared IRQ is only enabled for ACPI enumeration, there is no need
to have a special flag for that, since we simple can test if device
has been enumerated by ACPI. This unifies the checks in dwapb_get_irq()
and dwapb_configure_irqs().

Several gpiolib functions receive pointer to struct device_node which is
later passed to OF functions. These OF functions accept already pointer
to const, so gpiolib can follow similar approach to indicate they are
not modifying the struct device_node.

Add an else-if condition in the probe function to check whether ngpios is
multiple of 8.
Per AST datasheet, numbers of available serial GPIO pins in Serial GPIO
Configuration Register must be n bytes. For instance, if n = 1, it means
AST SoC supports 8 GPIO pins.

The current design initializes irq->chip from a global irqchip struct,
which causes multiple sgpio devices use the same irq_chip.
The patch moves irq_chip to aspeed_sgpio struct for initializing
irq_chip from their private gpio struct.

The maximum number of gpio pins of SoC is hardcoded as 80 and the gpio pin
count mask for GPIO Configuration register is hardcode as GENMASK(9,6).
However, AST2600 has 2 sgpio master interfaces, one of them supports up
to 128 gpio pins and pin count mask of GPIO Configuration Register is 5
bits.
The patch adds ast2600 compatibles, removes MAX_NR_HW_SGPIO and
corresponding design to make the gpio input/output pin base are determined
by ngpios.
The patch also removed hardcoded pin mask and adds ast2400, ast2500,
ast2600 platform data that include gpio pin count mask for GPIO
Configuration Register.
The original pin order is as follows:
(suppose MAX_NR_HW_SGPIO is 80 and ngpios is 10 as well)

The tqmx86 MFD driver was passing IRQ 0 for "no IRQ" in the past. This
causes warnings with newer kernels.
Prepare the gpio-tqmx86 driver for the fixed MFD driver by handling a
missing IRQ properly.

Gpiolib core code has been updated to support setting friendly names
through properly 'gpio-line-names'. Instead of redefine behaviour here
to skip the core to be executed, just properly assign the desired offset
per bank to get in the core the expected behaviour.

The default gpiolib-of implementation does not work with the multiple
gpiochip banks per device structure used for example by the gpio-mt7621
and gpio-brcmstb drivers. To fix these kind of situations driver code
is forced to fill the names to avoid the gpiolib code to set names
repeated along the banks. Instead of continue with that antipattern
fix the gpiolib core function to get expected behaviour for every
single situation adding a field 'offset' in the gpiochip structure.
Doing in this way, we can assume this offset will be zero for normal
driver code where only one gpiochip bank per device is used but
can be set explicitly in those drivers that really need more than
one gpiochip.

When booting with threadirqs, it causes a splat
WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 29 at kernel/irq/handle.c:159 __handle_irq_event_percpu+0x1ec/0x27c
irq 66 handler irq_default_primary_handler+0x0/0x1c enabled interrupts
That splat later went away with commit 81e2073c17 ("genirq: Disable
interrupts for force threaded handlers"), which got backported to
-stable. However, when running an -rt kernel, the splat still
exists. Moreover, quoting Thomas Gleixner [1]
But 3d5bfbd971 ("gpio: mpc8xxx: change the gpio interrupt flags.")
has nothing to do with that:
"Delete the interrupt IRQF_NO_THREAD flags in order to gpio interrupts
can be threaded to allow high-priority processes to preempt."
This changelog is blatantly wrong. In mainline forced irq threads
have always been invoked with softirqs disabled, which obviously
makes them non-preemptible.
So the patch didn't even do what its commit log said.

Both of these drivers use ioport_map(), so they need to
depend on HAS_IOPORT_MAP. Otherwise, they cannot be built
even with COMPILE_TEST on architectures without an ioport
implementation, such as ARCH=um.

When userspace requests a GPIO v1 line info changed event,
lineinfo_watch_read() populates and returns the gpioline_info_changed
structure. It contains 5 words of padding at the end which are not
initialized before being returned to userspace.
Zero the structure in gpio_v2_line_info_change_to_v1() before populating
its contents.

A disabled/masked interrupt marked as wakeup source must be re-enable
and unmasked in order to be able to wake-up the host. That can be done
by flaging the irqchip with IRQCHIP_ENABLE_WAKEUP_ON_SUSPEND.
Note: It 'sometimes' works without that change, but only thanks to the
lazy generic interrupt disabling (keeping interrupt unmasked).

Current AXI GPIO driver checking for interrupt data in suspend and
resume path and reporting as error in case of no interrupt connection.
As per AXI GPIO IP specification interrupt connection is optional,
driver logic is updated in suspend and resume calls by reporting

In two different instances the return value of "irq_get_irq_data"
API was neither captured nor checked.
Fixed it by capturing the return value and then checking for any error.

In case of error, the function devm_platform_ioremap_resource_byname()
returns ERR_PTR() and never returns NULL. The NULL test in the return
value check should be replaced with IS_ERR().

The acpi_walk_dep_device_list() function is not as generic as its
name implies, serving only to decrement the dependency count for each
dependent device of the input.
Extend it to accept a callback which can be applied to all the
dependencies in acpi_dep_list.
Replace all existing calls to the function with calls to a wrapper,
passing a callback that applies the same dependency reduction.

Drop gpio_regmap_set_drvdata() and instead add it to the configuration
data passed to gpio_regmap_register().
gpio_regmap_set_drvdata() can't really be used in a race free way. This
is because the gpio_regmap object which is needed by _set_drvdata() is
returned by gpio_regmap_register(). On the other hand, the callbacks
which use the drvdata might already be called right after the
gpiochip_add() call in gpio_regmap_register(). Therefore, we have to
provide the drvdata early before we call gpiochip_add().

We need to be able to translate GPIO resources in an ACPI device's _CRS
into GPIO descriptor array. Those are represented in _CRS as a pathname
to a GPIO device plus the pin's index number: the acpi_get_gpiod()
function is perfect for that purpose.
As it's currently only used internally within the GPIO layer, provide and
export a wrapper function that additionally holds a reference to the GPIO
device.

The handling of the return value from devm_gpiochip_add_data() is a bit
redundant. It prints messages on error and success cases.
While the success message may be useful, it is more in the area of log
spam, and these can be printed with other forms of kernel logging.
This change does a direct return with devm_gpiochip_add_data() in the probe
function.
The platform_set_drvdata() is needed, as this driver uses the stored
private date in the PM suspend/resume routines.

The sysfs_emit() function was introduced to make it less ambiguous
which function is preferred when writing to the output buffer in
a "show" callback [1].
Convert the GPIO library sysfs interface from sprintf() to sysfs_emit()
accordingly, as the latter is aware of the PAGE_SIZE buffer and correctly
returns the number of bytes written into the buffer.
No functional change intended.

The IRQ is registered via devm_request_threaded_irq(), making the driver
only partially device-managed. This changeset converts the entire driver
to using only devres APIs.
This change also removes platform_set_drvdata() since the information is
never retrieved to be used in the driver.

When hotplugging CPUs on Tegra186 and Tegra194 errors such as the
following are seen ...
IRQ63: set affinity failed(-22).
IRQ65: set affinity failed(-22).
IRQ66: set affinity failed(-22).
IRQ67: set affinity failed(-22).
Looking at the /proc/interrupts the above are all interrupts associated
with GPIOs. The reason why these error messages occur is because there
is no 'parent_data' associated with any of the GPIO interrupts and so
tegra186_irq_set_affinity() simply returns -EINVAL.
To understand why there is no 'parent_data' it is first necessary to
understand that in addition to the GPIO interrupts being routed to the
interrupt controller (GIC), the interrupts for some GPIOs are also
routed to the Tegra Power Management Controller (PMC) to wake up the
system from low power states. In order to configure GPIO events as
wake events in the PMC, the PMC is configured as IRQ parent domain
for the GPIO IRQ domain. Originally the GIC was the IRQ parent domain
of the PMC and although this was working, this started causing issues
once commit 64a267e9a4 ("irqchip/gic: Configure SGIs as standard
interrupts") was added, because technically, the GIC is not a parent
of the PMC. Commit c351ab7bf2 ("soc/tegra: pmc: Don't create fake
interrupt hierarchy levels") fixed this by severing the IRQ domain
hierarchy for the Tegra GPIOs and hence, there may be no IRQ parent
domain for the GPIOs.
The GPIO controllers on Tegra186 and Tegra194 have either one or six
interrupt lines to the interrupt controller. For GPIO controllers with
six interrupts, the mapping of the GPIO interrupt to the controller
interrupt is configurable within the GPIO controller. Currently a
default mapping is used, however, it could be possible to use the
set affinity callback for the Tegra186 GPIO driver to do something a
bit more interesting. Currently, because interrupts for all GPIOs are
have the same mapping and any attempts to configure the affinity for
a given GPIO can conflict with another that shares the same IRQ, for
now it is simpler to just remove set affinity support and this avoids
the above warnings being seen.

In IRQ handler interrupts are already disabled, hence no need
to repeat it. Even in the threaded case, it is not a problem
because IRQ framework keeps interrupt disabled there as well.

It seems that Xilinx GPIO driver operates with bit arrays longer than 32 and
thus can leverage bitmap APIs for that. It makes code better to understand.
The ->probe() function is modified to try read properties for both channels
since is_dual check makes only sense for the amount of pins used for the second
channel. On top of that kzalloc() guarantees zero initial values for the fields
in the private data structure, hence drop unneeded conditionals and assignments.
The change is inspired by Syed Nayyar Waris' ideas about bitmap API extension.

When devm_ioremap_resource() fails, a clear enough error message will be
printed by its subfunction __devm_ioremap_resource(). The error
information contains the device name, failure cause, and possibly resource
information.
Therefore, remove the error printing here to simplify code and reduce the
binary size.

This patch adds missing MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE definition which generates
correct modalias for automatic loading of this driver when it is built
as an external module.
