When brcmf_fws_add_interface() is called the struct brcmf_if::fws_desc
field is initialized regardless the state of the fwsignal functionality,
ie. the fcmode. This is not needed when fcmode is NONE, which is the
default mode.

Systems with 64 bit DMA at least partially require buffers to be used
for DMA to be 8-byte-aligned. One example is Amlogic Meson GX.
Switching the MMC/SDIO driver for this platform to SG DMA mode
resulted in problems due to unaligned buffers.
Fortunately the brcmfmac driver has a global define for the alignment.
Changing it to 8 fixed the issues with Meson GX.

Instead passing both flags, which can be NULL, and vif_params,
which are never NULL, move the flags into the vif_params and
use BIT(0), which is invalid from userspace, to indicate that
the flags were changed.
While updating all drivers, fix a small bug in wil6210 where
it was setting the flags to 0 instead of leaving them unchanged.

In brcmf_pcie_suspend() we inform the firmware on the device that
it will enter in D3 state. Before this is done we already bring down
the bus state. However, When entering D3 fails we abort the suspend
and the bus state need to be restored.

These files all use functions declared in interrupt.h, but currently rely
on implicit inclusion of this file (via netns/xfrm.h).

A use-after-free was found using KASAN. In brcmf_p2p_del_if() the virtual
interface is removed using call to brcmf_remove_interface(). After that
the virtual interface instance has been freed and should not be referenced.
Solve this by storing the nl80211 iftype in local variable, which is used
in a couple of places anyway.

If a scan gets aborted BRCMF_SCAN_STATUS_BUSY gets cleared in
cfg->scan_status and when we receive an abort event from the firmware
the BRCMF_SCAN_STATUS_BUSY check in the cfg80211_escan_handler will
trigger resulting in multiple errors getting logged.
Check for a status of BRCMF_E_STATUS_ABORT and in this case simply
cleanly exit the cfg80211_escan_handler. This also avoids a
BRCMF_E_STATUS_ABORT event arriving after a new scan has been started
causing the new scan to complete prematurely without any data.

Using pr_err for things which are not errors is a bad idea. E.g. it
will cause the plymouth bootsplash screen to drop back to the text
console so that the user can see the error, which is not what we
normally want to happen.
Instead add a new brcmf_info macro and use that.

So far we were attaching BRCMF_E_PSM_WATCHDOG event listener in
brcmf_debug_attach which gets compiled only with CONFIG_BRCMDBG. This
event means something went wrong and firmware / hardware usually can't
be expected to work (reliably).
Such a problem is significant for user experience so I believe we should
print an error unconditionally (even with debugging disabled). What can
be indeed optional is dumping bus memory as this is clearly part of
debugging process.
In the future we may also try to extend this listener by trying to
recover from the error or at least signal it to the cfg80211.

Set the NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CQM_RSSI_LIST wiphy extended feature
wholesale in all mac80211-based drivers that do not set the
IEEE80211_VIF_BEACON_FILTER flags on their interfaces. mac80211 will
be processing supplied RSSI values in ieee80211_rx_mgmt_beacon and
will detect when the thresholds set by
ieee80211_set_cqm_rssi_range_config are crossed. Remaining (few)
drivers need code to enable the firmware to monitor the thresholds.
This is mostly only compile-tested.

We are going to split <linux/sched/signal.h> out of <linux/sched.h>, which
will have to be picked up from other headers and a couple of .c files.
Create a trivial placeholder <linux/sched/signal.h> file that just
maps to <linux/sched.h> to make this patch obviously correct and
bisectable.

Now that %z is standartised in C99 there is no reason to support %Z.
Unlike %L it doesn't even make format strings smaller.
Use BUILD_BUG_ON in a couple ATM drivers.
In case anyone didn't notice lib/vsprintf.o is about half of SLUB which
is in my opinion is quite an achievement. Hopefully this patch inspires
someone else to trim vsprintf.c more.

This new helper reads extra frequency limits specified in DT and
disables unavailable chanels. This is useful for devices (like home
routers) with chipsets limited e.g. by board design.
In order to respect info read from DT we simply need to check for
IEEE80211_CHAN_DISABLED bit when constructing channel info.

The wowlan support is (partially) determined dynamic by checking the
device/firmware capabilities. So they can differ per device. So it
is not possible to use a static global. Instead use the global as a
template and use kmemdup(). When kmemdup() fails the template is used
unmodified.

For wowl netdetect the event data changed for newer chips. This
was recently fixed for scheduled scan, but same change is needed
for wowl netdetect. Removing now pointles += operation from both
result handlers.

The driver advertises support for WOWLAN_NETDETECT but did not specify
maximum amount of netdetect match sets. This was no issue due to a bug
in nl80211. As that has been fixed, brcmfmac also needs fixing.

This intends to make init/attach process slightly easier to follow.
What driver was doing in brcmf_bus_start wasn't bus specific at all and
function brcmf_bus_stop wasn't undoing things done there. This function
is supposed to be called by bus specific code when the bus is ready.

Driver used to call brcmf_bus_detach only from one place and it already
contained a check for drvr not being NULL. We can get rid of this extra
function, call brcmf_bus_stop directly and simplify the code.
There also isn't brcmf_bus_attach function which one could expect so it
looks more consistent this way.

brcmf_sdio_fromevntchan() was being called on the the data frame
rather than the software header, causing some frames to be
mischaracterized as on the event channel rather than the data channel.
This fixes a major performance regression (due to dropped packets). With
this patch the download speed jumped from 1Mbit/s back up to 40MBit/s due
to the sheer amount of packets being incorrectly processed.

BCM43455 is a more recent revision of the BCM4345. Some of the BCM43455
got a dedicated SDIO device ID which is currently not supported by
brcmfmac.
Adding the new sdio_device_id to brcmfmac is enough to get the BCM43455
supported because the chip itself is already supported (due to BCM4345
support in the driver).

We may want to use Open Firmware for other devices than just SDIO ones.
In future we may want to support more Broadcom properties so there is
really no reason for such limitation.
Call brcmf_of_probe for all kind of devices & move extra conditions to
the body of that funcion.

During bands setup we disable all channels that firmware doesn't support
in the current regulatory setup. If we do this before wiphy_register
it will result in copying set flags (including IEEE80211_CHAN_DISABLED)
to the orig_flags which is supposed to be persistent. We don't want this
as regulatory change may result in enabling some channels. We shouldn't
mess with orig_flags then (by changing them or ignoring them) so it's
better to just take care of their proper values.
This patch cleanups code a bit (by taking orig_flags more seriously) and
allows further improvements like disabling really unavailable channels.
We will need that e.g. if some frequencies should be disabled for good
due to hardware setup (design).

During init we take care of regulatory stuff by disabling all
unavailable channels (see brcmf_construct_chaninfo) so this predisabling
them is not really required (and this patch won't change any behavior).
It will on the other hand allow more detailed runtime control over
channels which is the main reason for this change.

Our code was assigning number of channels to the index variable by
default. If firmware reported channel we didn't predict this would
result in using that initial index value and writing out of array. This
never happened so far (we got a complete list of supported channels) but
it means possible memory corruption so we should handle it anyway.
This patch simply detects unexpected channel and ignores it.
As we don't try to create new entry now, it's also safe to drop hw_value
and center_freq assignment. For known channels we have these set anyway.
I decided to fix this issue by assigning NULL or a target channel to the
channel variable. This was one of possible ways, I prefefred this one as
it also avoids using channel[index] over and over.

The scan results for scheduled scan as retrieved from the device
have changed. A field has been added which is not needed. However,
the appended info is. Luckily they are versioned so check that to
find out the location of the appended data.

User-space can specify the interval for the scheduled scan. This
interval is found in scheduled scan plan. The driver supports only
one plan, which is legacy behaviour.

In the .sched_scan_start() callback a condition was checked whether a
normal scan was ongoing. However, there is no need for this check as
it is ok to start the scheduled scan irrespective whether or not a
normal scan is ongoing.

User-space can provide list of channels in the schedule scan request.
This was ignored so all channels supported and allowed by the device
were used. This patch configures the device to use the channels as
listed in the request.

For scheduled scan we initiate an escan in firmware to obtain more
info missing from the scheduled scan notification we get from firmware.
For upcoming functionality this is also required so make it a bit
more generic.

The ssids list in the scheduled scan request were not properly taken
into account when configuring in firmware. The hidden bit was set for
any ssid resulting in active scanning for all. Only set it for ssids
that are in the ssids list.

The report is valid: doing the math in this function, with an input value
N=63 the variable s16tableIndex gets a value of 31. This value is used as
an index in the array log_table with 32 entries. But the next line is:
s16errorApproximation = (s16) qm_mulu16(u16offset,
(u16) (log_table[s16tableIndex + 1] -
log_table[s16tableIndex]));
With s16tableIndex + 1 we are trying an out-of-bounds access to the array.
The log_table array provides log2 values in q.15 format and the above
statement tries an error approximation with the next value. To fix this
issue add the next value to the array and update the comment accordingly.

Firmware doesn't update beacon/Probe Response vendor IEs correctly when
bss is down, so we move brcmf_config_ap_mgmt_ie after BSS up. And host
driver should clear IEs when AP stopped so that the IEs in host side will
be synced with in firmware side.

So far our core code was calling brcmf_fws_process_skb which wasn't
a proper thing to do. If case of devices using msgbuf protocol fwsignal
shouldn't be used. It was an unnecessary extra layer simply calling
a protocol specifix txdata function.
Please note we already have txdata callback, but it's used for calls
between bcdc and fwsignal so it couldn't be simply used there.
This makes core code more generic (instead of bcdc/fwsignal specific).

A bugfix added a sanity check around the assignment and use of the
'is_11d' variable, which looks correct to me, but as the function is
rather complex already, this confuses the compiler to the point where
it can no longer figure out if the variable is always initialized
correctly:

The old WDS 4-addr frame support is very limited, e.g.
* no encryption is possible on such links
* it cannot support rate/HT/VHT negotiation
* management APIs are very restricted
These make the WDS legacy mode useless in practice.
All of these are resolved by the 4-addr AP/client support,
so there's also no reason to improve WDS in the future.
Therefore, add a Kconfig option to disable legacy WDS.
This gives people an "emergency valve" while they migrate
to the better-supported 4-addr AP/client option; we plan
to remove it (and the associated cfg80211/mac80211 code,
which is the ultimate goal) in the future.

Flowrings contain skbs waiting for transmission that were passed to us
by netif. It means we checked every one of them looking for 802.1x
Ethernet type. When deleting flowring we have to use freeing function
that will check for 802.1x type as well.
Freeing skbs without a proper check was leading to counter not being
properly decreased. This was triggering a WARNING every time
brcmf_netdev_wait_pend8021x was called.

Even with timeout increased to 950 ms we get WARNINGs from time to time.
It mostly happens on A-MPDU stalls (e.g. when station goes out of
range). It may take up to 5-10 secods for the firmware to recover and
for that time it doesn't process packets.
It's still useful to have a message on time out as it may indicate some
firmware problem and incorrect key update. Raising a WARNING however
wasn't really that necessary, it doesn't point to any driver bug anymore
and backtrace wasn't much useful.

The 802.11 standard only has four valid auth type configurations of which
our firmware only supports two, ie. Open System and Shared Key. Simplify
the mapping falling back to automatic for other types specified by
user-space.

Clearing the wowl wakeindicator happens with a rather odd
construction where the string "clear" is used to set the iovar
wowl_wakeind. This was implemented incorrectly as it caused an
out of bound access. Use an intermediate variable of correct
length and copy string in that. Problem was found using coverity.

When IPv6 address is to be cleared there is a possible out of
bound access. But also the clearing of the last entry and the
adjustment of total number of stored IPv6 addresses is not
updated. This patch fixes that bug. Bug was found using coverity.

The variable info is assigned to point to bcdc->msg[1], which is the
same as pointing to bcdc->buf. As that is what we want to access
make it clear by fixing the assignment. This also avoid out-of-bounds
errors from static analyzers are bcdc->msg[1] is not in the structure
definition.

802.11d is not always supported by firmware anymore. Currently the
AP configuration of 11d will cause an abort if the ioctl set is
failing. This behavior is not correct and the error should be
ignored.
