The the driver prevents new Tx from being sent during the remove-station
flow is by invalidating the fw_id_to_mac_id rcu of that station.
However, if there was any Tx still in-flight (tx-cmd was sent but the
ba-notif wasn't received yet) the ba-response to those frames is simply
ignored without actually reclaiming anything. This later causes the
driver to think that that some of the station's queues aren't empty when
in practice they are which causes errors in the station remove flow.
Fix this by performing the tx-reclaim also if the rcu is invalid. any DB
that can't be updated due to this is not very important at this stage
since the station is about to be removed soon anyways.

A FTM responder may do PASN authentication with unassociated stations
to allow secure ranging. In this case, the driver will add an internal
station and install the TK so the FW will accept protected FTM
request frames from this station and will send a protected FTM
response frame.
In addition, the driver needs to configure the HLTK to the FW so
the FW can derive the secure LTF bits. This is left for a later
patch since it is not yet supported by the FW.

There is an issue in the HW DMA engine in the 9000 family of devices
when more than 6 RX queues are used. The issue is that the FW may
hang when IWL_MVM_RXQ_NSSN_SYNC notifications are sent.
Fix this by limiting the number of RX queues to 6 in the 9000 family
of devices.

The usage of in_interrupt) in driver code is phased out.
The iwlwifi_dbg tracepoint records in_interrupt() seperately, but that's
superfluous because the trace header already records all kind of state and
context information like hardirq status, softirq status, preemption count
etc.
Aside of that the recording of in_interrupt() as boolean does not allow to
distinguish between the possible contexts (hard interrupt, soft interrupt,
bottom half disabled) while the trace header gives precise information.
Remove the duplicate information from the tracepoint and fixup the caller.

The usage of in_interrupt() in non-core code is phased out.
The debugging macros in these drivers use in_interrupt() to print 'I' or
'U' depending on the return value of in_interrupt(). While 'U' is confusing
at best and 'I' is not really describing the actual context (hard interupt,
soft interrupt, bottom half disabled section) these debug macros originate
from the pre ftrace kernel era and their value today is questionable. They
probably should be removed completely.
The macros weere added initially for ipw2100 and then spreaded when the
driver was forked.
Remove the in_interrupt() usage at least..

As said by Linus:
A symmetric naming is only helpful if it implies symmetries in use.
Otherwise it's actively misleading.
In "kzalloc()", the z is meaningful and an important part of what the
caller wants.
In "kzfree()", the z is actively detrimental, because maybe in the
future we really _might_ want to use that "memfill(0xdeadbeef)" or
something. The "zero" part of the interface isn't even _relevant_.
The main reason that kzfree() exists is to clear sensitive information
that should not be leaked to other future users of the same memory
objects.
Rename kzfree() to kfree_sensitive() to follow the example of the recently
added kvfree_sensitive() and make the intention of the API more explicit.
In addition, memzero_explicit() is used to clear the memory to make sure
that it won't get optimized away by the compiler.
The renaming is done by using the command sequence:

mt76 driver had major conflicts within mt7615 directory. To make it easier for
every merge wireless-drivers to wireless-drivers-next and solve those
conflicts.
Missing this firmware is not fatal, my wifi card still works. Even more,
I couldn't find any documentation what it is or where to get it. So, I
don't think the users should be notified if it is missing. If you browse
the net, you see the message is present is in quite some logs. Better
remove it.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:

By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
sizeof(flexible-array-member) triggers a warning because flexible array
members have incomplete type[1]. There are some instances of code in
which the sizeof operator is being incorrectly/erroneously applied to
zero-length arrays and the result is zero. Such instances may be hiding
some bugs. So, this work (flexible-array member conversions) will also
help to get completely rid of those sorts of issues.
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

On AX200, the average power was showing positive instead of negative, but
otherwise matched the expected RSSI. Flip the value to negative before
giving to mac80211.

IWL_WARN seems excessive here since this can happen during normal
operation. Every time I connect to a new network with 8086:24fd I get
this as KERN_WARNING on the console, which mildly distracts from other
more pressing messages. For example:

All iwlwifi cards below the 22000 series are able to handle multiple
keyids per STA and allow the selection of the encryption key per MPDU.
These are therefore fully compatible with the Extended Key ID support
implementation in mac80211.
Enable Extended Key ID support for all dvm cards and the mvm cards not
using the incompatible new Tx API introduced for the 22000 series.

Range request version 10 keeps the same command size as version 9
but uses 2 reserved fields for the responder beacon interval and
station id (if exists).
For now, since the beacon interval of unassoc APs is unknown, use
a value of 100 TUs which is a common value for many APs.
While at it, remove the definition for CCMP_256 cipher, since this
is not supported.

context info to be able to determine whether we are using
bigger than 4k RBs, indicate 8k/12k to them if we actually

ACPI Device Specific Method (DSM) allows standardized feature
configuration through the ACPI interface without the namespace
pollution of the usual mechanism (ACPI method for each feature).
Add generic function for evaluating DSM objects and function for
evaluating a DSM with no arguments and a single int return value.

There are several "flavors" of HW that have the same HW type, but
can be told apart after reading a certain perph register. This
is easy to do in runtime, but more complicated to do when looking
at the logs offline.
To make it easier to tell apart these "flavors" when looking at
the dumped dbg info, add these bits to the HW type, allowing
simple differentiation.

We don't really expect fragmented RBs, and don't seem to be seeing
them in practice since that would've caused a crash. Nevertheless,
we should be expecting the hardware to send them.
Parse the flag indicating a fragmented buffer, but then discard it
and any fragments thereof, at least for now. We need to do more
work in the higher layers to properly deal with this, since we may
not get "normal" firmware notifications that are fragmented, only
RX, and then we need to put it back together and add the necessary
API to report a chain of things to the higher layers, this doesn't
fit into the struct iwl_rx_cmd_buffer today.

We can currently end up transmitting on an unallocated queue, if
the allocation fails. Stop doing that, by simply not transmitting.
We don't have any better strategy here, unfortunately, but the
previous commits make that much less likely.

When we have 256 block-ack support, we may need to be very fast
to provide a lot of frames to the hardware to transmit, but that
cannot be guaranteed. Use a longer queue size to have more time,
and the next possible queue size is 1024 since it must be a power
of two.

Since the recent patch in this area, we no longer allocate 64k
for a single queue, but only 1k, which still means a full page.
Use a DMA pool to reduce this further, since we will have a lot
of queues in a typical system that can share pages.

We currently attempt to allocate queues that are 512 entries long,
but that requires 32 KiB memory, which may not be available, at
least not contiguously. If we fail to allocate, attempt to use a
smaller queue all the way down to 16 entries (which fit into a
single page).

The hardware needs a byte-count table with the size of each frame
on the queue to build A-MPDUs, but:
* newer generation no longer have the duplicated space at the end,
they can deal with the wrap properly - and we don't even fill
the dup anyway
* we have a maximum queue size of 512 right now and don't use the
theoretical hardware maximum of 65536.
Together, this reduces the byte count table DMA allocation from
64KiB (65536*2 + 64*2 rounded up) to 1 KiB (though that might be
rounded up to a full 4 KiB page by the allocator, not sure it can
share the allocations.)

For ACK_ENABLED and 32BIT_BA_BITMAP flags check the station capabilities
rather than bss_conf.ack_enabled and bss_conf.multi_sta_back_32bit.
These fields are stations capabilities and should not be in bss_conf.
Also note that the bss_conf flags are set in station mode only.
In the next patch I will remove ack_enabled and multi_sta_back_32bit
from the bss_conf structure.

If we set amsdu_len one after another the second one overwrites
the orig_amsdu_len so allow only moving from debug to non debug state.
Also the TLC update check was wrong: it was checking that also the orig
is smaller then the new updated size, which is not the case in debug
amsdu mode.

This module parameter should not be mangled by users.
This relates to a very old driver and I doubt people can
really check the antenna coupling in a way that would make
the BT Coexistence work better with a real value.

On newer hardware, the tx_queue debugfs file would need to
allocate 37.5kib data since there are 512 queues, which is
too much. Rather than resorting to kludges like kvmalloc(),
use the seq_file API to print out the data.
While at it, also fix a NULL pointer dereference here, the
txq pointer from trans_pcie->txqs[] may be NULL if that
queue hasn't been allocated.

Add support for the new WOWLAN_GET_STATUS notification that contains a
new element that informs the driver of TIDs whose BA sessions were
closed during suspend.
Note that the new functionality of handling these closed sessions is not
implemented in this patch it. It only aligns to the new API version.

The API version lookup is parsed from a TLV and should be in shared code
make make it reusable across all opmodes.
Also change the function names from mvm to fw, since this is not
mvm-specific anymore.
Additionally, since this function is not just a single line of code, it
shouldn't be inline. Convert them to actual functions.

Somehow we missed this for a long time, but similar to the extended
NSS support in VHT capabilities, we need to have this in Operating
Mode notification.
Implement it by
* parsing the 160/80+80 bit there and setting the bandwidth
appropriately
* having callers of ieee80211_get_vht_max_nss() pass in the current
max NSS value as received in the operating mode notification in
order to modify it appropriately depending on the extended NSS
bits.
This updates all drivers that use it, i.e. only iwlwifi/mvm.

When fixing the initialization race, we neglected to account for
the fact that debugfs is initialized in wiphy_register(), and
some debugfs things went missing (or rather were rerooted to the
global debugfs root).
Fix this by adding debugfs entries only after wiphy_register().
This requires some changes in the rate control code since it
currently adds debugfs at alloc time, which can no longer be
done after the reordering.

The function iwl_mvm_remove_inactive_tids() returns bool, so we
should just check "if (ret)", not "if (ret >= 0)" (which would
do nothing useful here). We obviously therefore cannot use the
return value of the function for the free_queue, we need to use
the queue (i) we're currently dealing with instead.

Due to some hardware issues, queue 31 isn't usable on devices that have
32 queues (7000, 8000, 9000 families), which is correctly reflected in
the configuration and TX queue initialization.
However, the firmware API and queue allocation code assumes that there
are 32 queues, and if something actually attempts to use #31 this leads
to a NULL-pointer dereference since it's not allocated.
Fix this by limiting to 31 in the IWL_MVM_DQA_MAX_DATA_QUEUE, and also
add some code to catch this earlier in the future, if the configuration
changes perhaps.

In the context info, we need to indicate the correct RB size
to the device so that it will not think we have 4k when we
only use 2k. This seems to not have caused any issues right
now, likely because the hardware no longer supports putting
multiple entries into a single RB, and practically all of
the entries should be smaller than 2k.
Nevertheless, it's a bug, and we must advertise the right
size to the device.
Note that right now we can only tell it 2k vs. 4k, so for
the cases where we have more, still use 4k. This needs to
be fixed by the firmware first.

The iwl_trans_pcie_dyn_txq_free() function only releases the frames
that may be left on the queue by calling iwl_pcie_gen2_txq_unmap(),
but doesn't actually free the DMA ring or byte-count tables for the
queue. This leads to pretty large memory leaks (at least before my
queue size improvements), in particular in monitor/sniffer mode on
channel hopping since this happens on every channel change.
This was also now more evident after the move to a DMA pool for the
byte count tables, showing messages such as

Some of the places using this want the newline, but not all,
so remove the newline from it and generate it in the debugfs
files where it's desired.
The effect of this is not printing double newlines in debug
log messages.

The FW changed the maximum number of scan offload profiles to 8 in new
APIs. Support it by changing the scan_offload_profile_cfg struct to be
more dynamic, so we can reuse most of the code and only change size of
the profiles array.

When we have an assert during D3 we want to dump the internal
buffer memory even if are we working in DRAM debug mode. We should not

A couple of SoCs, which can be recognized by PCI device IDs 0xA0F0 and
0x43F0, need a longer wait for the xtal to stabilize. To handle this,
add a new trans_cfg structure for Qu devices with a larger
xtal_latency value and apply them to the devices recognized by these
IDs. Also add a flag that allows us to inform the FW that the low
latency xtal should be used.

This new command is mostly backwards compatible, with the exception
that the device_type element was changed into a bitmask. The device
type bit remains the same (because we only had 0 and 1 anyway), but
when using v1 we can't set any other bits, because that would change
the integer.
Other than that, the struct remains the same and the driver can set
the device_type bit in both cases, but it can only set the low_latency
bit if VER_2 is used.

Add new generic iwl_trans structures for these devices and apply the
correct cfg depending on the device characteristics.
Since we have to match Qu with IWL_CONFIG_ANY, we also need to move
the Hr devices to the new table, but for now we keep matching on PCI
device and subsystem device IDs.

These values are selected based on the PCI device ID, so the decision
to use them can be made early. By moving them to the trans_cfg, we
avoid duplicating the large cfg structs for small pieces of
data (sometimes a single boolean). This will also allow us to make
more decisions based on, for instance, the SoC type in used.
The trans_cfg concept changes a bit, because previously it was used
only to boot the device before reading further characteristics and now
it also contains more data that is associated with the device ID.

Modify adaptive dwell number of APs override API
Instead of using channel to index mapping, add the adaptive dwell
override parameters as part of the configuration per channel in the scan
request command.
Support 2 different override values and use them as follows:
1. 10 APs for friendly GO channels in p2p scan.
2. 2 APs for social channels in p2p scan.

Add a new region type that allows us to dump the PCI config space.
This is mostly the same as dumping a memory region, but reading from
the device's config space instead.
In order to make this generic and independent of the trans type, we
make a function called iwl_dump_ini_config_iter() that calls a new op
in the transport to read its config space.

Some devices require longer time to stabilize the power and XTAL.
This is especially true for devices integrated in the SoC. Add
support for a new firmware API that allows the driver to set the

The GEO_TX_POWER_LIMIT command was sent although
there is no wgds table, so the fw got wrong SAR values
from the driver.
Fix this by avoiding sending the command if no wgds
tables are available.

TH1 devices can now be fully differentiated by using the device
parameters we have (particularly the RF_TYPE). Start using these
parameters instead of hardcoding to specific subsystem device IDs.
This also fixes the name of one of the TH1 devices that was
erroneously using the 9260 struct and renames 9160 to 9162.

Devices that also include a GNSS module have different names, so add a
new device option to differentiate them, according to the values we
have in the modules section of the subsystem device ID.
Additionally, convert the two applicable devices to use this value
instead of hardcoded subsystem IDs.

If the firmware is in a bad state or not initialized fully, sending
the DBGC_SUSPEND_RESUME command fails but we can still collect logs.
Instead of aborting the entire dump process, simply ignore the error.
By removing the last callpoint that was checking the return value, we
can also convert the function to return void.

The TLV offset is only used to read registers, while the offset used for
the FIFO addresses are hard coded in the driver and not given by the
TLV.
If we try to apply the TLV offset when reading the FIFOs, we'll read
from invalid addresses, causing the driver to hang.

We were erroneously checking the length of the tlv instead of checking
the pointer returned by kmemdup() when allocating dbg_conf_tlv[].
This was probably a typo. Fix it by checking the returned pointer
instead of the length.

The AP may set the LDPC capability only in HE (IEEE80211_HE_PHY_CAP1),
but we were checking it only in the HT capabilities.
If we don't use this capability when required, the DSP gets the wrong
configuration in HE and doesn't work properly.

The logic for checking required NVM sections was recently fixed in
commit b3f20e0982 ("iwlwifi: mvm: fix NVM check for 3168
devices"). However, with that fixed the else is now taken for 3168
devices and within the else clause there is a mandatory check for the
PHY_SKU section. This causes the parsing to fail for 3168 devices.
The PHY_SKU section is really only mandatory for the IWL_NVM_EXT
layout (the phy_sku parameter of iwl_parse_nvm_data is only used when
the NVM type is IWL_NVM_EXT). So this changes the PHY_SKU section
check so that it's only mandatory for IWL_NVM_EXT.

Continue the wakeup flow only if no FW CPUs have an error
If we don't check for error in all FW CPUs the driver can think
based on one CPU that the FW is operational and try to access
and send commands.
Also, handle the error_id endianness correctly as le32

I changed the API for asking for a session protection but
I omitted the TDLS flows. Fix that now.
Note that for the TDLS flow, we need to block until the
session protection actually starts, so add this option
to iwl_mvm_schedule_session_protection.
This patch fixes a firmware assert in the TDLS flow since
the old TIME_EVENT_CMD is not supported anymore by newer
firwmare versions.

Fix a kernel panic by checking that the sta is not NULL.
This could happen during a reconfig flow, as mac80211 moves the sta
between all the states without really checking if the previous state was
successfully set. So, if for some reason we failed to add back the
station, subsequent calls to sta_state() callback will be done when the
station is NULL. This would result in a following panic:

When a FTM request is aborted, the driver sends the abort command to
the fw and waits for a response. When the response arrives, the driver
calls cfg80211_pmsr_complete() for that request.
However, cfg80211 frees the requested data immediately after sending
the abort command, so this may lead to use after free.
Fix it by clearing the request data in the driver when the abort
command arrives and ignoring the fw notification that will come
afterwards.

Till now, the driver asked the fw for a DTS measurement in automatic
mode. This triggered a flow in which the fw actively measured the
temperature. This is not needed anymore, as the fw performs
measurements by itself, without the driver triggering them, and the
current cadence in which the fw performs such measurements is
sufficient.
In addition, in some time-sensitive scenarios, in which the driver asks
the fw for an active measurement twice in a short time (<100ms), the fw
asserts with code 0x20100801.
Change the DTS measurement to _WITHOUT_MEASURE instead, so the fw will
respond with the last measurement it has performed.

The IGTK keys are only removed by mac80211 after it has already
removed the AP station. This causes the driver to throw an error
because mac80211 is trying to remove the IGTK when the station doesn't
exist anymore.
The firmware is aware that the station has been removed and can deal
with it the next time we try to add an IGTK for a station, so we
shouldn't try to remove the key if the station ID is
IWL_MVM_INVALID_STA. Do this by removing the check for mvm_sta before
calling iwl_mvm_send_sta_igtk() and check return from that function
gracefully if the station ID is invalid.
