65ff556b07 iwlwifi: mvm: rename unified_scan symbols to just scan
All scans are using the unified APIs now, so using "unified" in the
symbols is useless and just make them much longer and the main
difference between scans now is LMAC vs. UMAC. Remove "unified" from
all relevant symbols.

507e4cda52 iwlwifi: mvm: generalize the other-scan stopping code
Instead of hardcoding the differences between UMAC scans and LMAC
scans (which in this case is the number of simultaneous scans that can
run), introduce a max_scans variable and stop scans of the other type
(i.e. stop sched scan if regular scan is being attempted and
vice-versa) if the number of running scans reached the maximum.

Add a function that checks if the maximum number of scans was reached
and stops the appropriate scan to make room for the new scan.

9af91f4663 iwlwifi: mvm: convert scan_status to a bitmap
LMAC scans cannot handle more than one scan at a time, but UMAC scans
can. To avoid confusion we should combine the states of these two
types of scans. To do so, we need to support mutliple scans at the
same time for UMAC.

This commit changes the scan_status element from a single value to a
bitmask of running scan types for LMAC. Later, we will modify UMAC
scans to use the same state bitmask.

Additionally, add stopping scan flags for scheduled and regular scans.
This makes it easier to differentiate and handle stop requests
triggered by the driver and spontaneous stops generated by the
firmware.

54331db99a iwlwifi: mvm: call ieee80211_scan_completed() even if scan abort fails
A scan abort command failure is not that unusual, since we may try to
send it after the scan has actually completed but before we received
the completed notification from the firmware. The scan abort can also
fail for other reasons, such as a timeout. In such cases, we should
clear things up so the next scans will work again. To do so, don't
return immediately in case of failures, but call
ieee80211_scan_completed() and clear the scan_status flags.

44e9cd7e40 iwlwifi: mvm: set max_out_time equal to frag_passive_dwell in fragmented scan
Fragmented scan should be applied for all channels, passive and active.
When scanning on passive channels the firmware uses frag_passive_dwell
to define the maximum continuous scan time before returning to the
operating channel. On active channels max_out_time is the parameter
used by the firmware to define the maximum time allowed out of the
operating channel. Since active channels' scan should also be fragmented
set max_out_time equal to frag_passive_dwell.
In addition:
- Set max_out_time and suspend_time if the firmware doesn't support
fragmented scan to avoid unexpected behavior.
- Adjust max_out_time for second level of scan precedence.

90ea15c114 iwlwifi: mvm: abort scheduled scan upon RFKILL
When we have an active scheduled scan, and the RFKILL
interrupt kicks in, the stack will cancel the scheduled
scan as part of the down flow. But cancelling scheduled
scan usually implies sending a command to the firwmare
which has been killed as part of the RFKILL interrupt
handling.
Because of that, we returned an error to mac80211 when
it asked to stop the scheduled scan and didn't notify the
end of the scheduled scan. Besides a fat warning, this led
to a situation in which cfg80211 would refuse any new scan
request.

To disentangle this, fake that the scheduled scan has been
stopped without sending the command to the firwmare, return
0 after having properly let cfg80211 know that the scan
has been cancelled.

This is basically the same as:

633e271326 mac80211: split sched scan IEs
Split sched scan IEs to band specific and not band specific

e820c2da7e iwlwifi: mvm: Add support for Energy based scan (EBS)
This patch enables Energy Based Scan (EBS) - intended to detect energy
on 5 GHz band channels. Passive scan on this band takes up to 2.64 sec
assuming 110mSec per-channel * 24 channels. EBS is designed to detect
energy on channels with intensive Wifi activity as well as those where
only beacons are transmitted. EBS completes sampling all channels within
shortest beacon frame transmission time. Total EBS duration is about 100
msec (typical beacon interval).
Detecting Wifi activity on 5 GHz band channels can significantly reduce
scan duration thus saving time and power. EBS failure reported by FW
disables EBS for current connection. It is re-enabled upon new
connection attempt on any WLAN interface.

50df8a3065 iwlwifi: mvm: configure low latency dependent scan parameters
In case of system low latency configure passive scan to be fragmented.
Set the following scan parameters for both immediate and scheduled scan:
 - passive scan fragment duration = 20ms
 - out-of-channel time = 70ms
 - suspend time = 105ms
Restructure channel's active/passive dwell time configuration to better
suit the above change.

The idea is that under low latency traffic passive scan is fragmented,
i.e. that dwell on a particular channel will be fragmented. Each
fragment dwell time is 20ms and fragments period is 105ms. Skipping to
next channel will be delayed by the same period (105ms). So suspend_time
parameter describing both fragments and channels skipping periods is set
to 105ms. This value is chosen so that overall passive scan duration
will not be too long. Max_out_time in this case is set to 70ms, so for
active scanning operating channel will be left for 70ms while for
passive still for 20ms (fragment dwell).

91b80256b6 iwlwifi: mvm: abort scan on sched_scan request
A scheduled scan is a more persistent setting and should take priority
over temporary regular scans. Abort the regular when a sched_scan

The kernel API allows sending a sched_scan without canceling a regular

ea73cbce4e nl80211: fix scheduled scan RSSI matchset attribute confusion
The scheduled scan matchsets were intended to be a list of filters,
with the found BSS having to pass at least one of them to be passed
to the host. When the RSSI attribute was added, however, this was
broken and currently wpa_supplicant adds that attribute in its own
matchset; however, it doesn't intend that to mean that anything
that passes the RSSI filter should be passed to the host, instead
it wants it to mean that everything needs to also have higher RSSI.

This is semantically problematic because we have a list of filters
like [ SSID1, SSID2, SSID3, RSSI ] with no real indication which
one should be OR'ed and which one AND'ed.

To fix this, move the RSSI filter attribute into each matchset. As
we need to stay backward compatible, treat a matchset with only the
RSSI attribute as a "default RSSI filter" for all other matchsets,
but only if there are other matchsets (an RSSI-only matchset by
itself is still desirable.)

To make driver implementation easier, keep a global min_rssi_thold
for the entire request as well. The only affected driver is ath6kl.

I found this when I looked into the code after Raja Mani submitted
a patch fixing the n_match_sets calculation to disregard the RSSI,
but that patch didn't address the semantic issue.

a6623e84c4 iwlwifi: mvm: abort scheduled scan on scan request
Some older versions of wpa_supplicant don't necessarily stop
scheduled scan before starting a regular scan, and there's
nothing in the API that requires it either. As a consequence
our driver's behaviour of not allowing scan while scheduled

However, it is valid to unilaterally stop scheduled scan at
any point in time, so when a regular scan request comes just
abort the scheduled scan and run the regular scan.

bb963c4a43 iwlwifi: mvm: set SSID bits for passive channels
Set SSID bitmap for direct scan even on passive channels,
for the passive-to-active feature. Without this patch only
the SSID from probe request template is sent on passive
channels, after passive-to-active switching, causing us to
not find all desired networks.

Remove the unused passive scan mask constant.

a590ad4118 iwlwifi: mvm: remove extra SSID from probe request
Bits 1-21 in this channel type attributes are indication for which
SSID is going to be sent on this channel. Since the first SSID is
sent implicitly in the probe request, we don't need to toggle its
bit here.

fe04e83706 iwlwifi: mvm: fix bug in scan ssid
Increment index in each iteration. Without this increment we are
overriding the added SSIDs and we will send only the last SSId
and (n_ssids - 1) broadcast probes.

8ca151b568 iwlwifi: add the MVM driver
Newer firmware revisions have a completely new
firmware API. This is the new driver for this
new API.

I've listed the people who directly contributed
code, but many others from various teams have
contributed in other ways.
