This adds preliminary support for the SH7786 CPU subtype.
While this is a dual-core CPU, only UP is supported for now. L2 cache
support is likewise not yet implemented.

Instead of keeping the single vector -> single linux irq mapping
we extend the intc code to support merging of vectors to a single
linux irq. This helps processors such as sh7750, sh7780 and sh7785
which have more vectors than masking ability. With this patch in
place we can modify the intc tables to use one irq per maskable
irq source. Please note the following:
- If multiple vectors share the same enum then only the
first vector will be available as a linux irq.
- Drivers may need to be rewritten to get pending irq
source from the hardware block instead of irq number.
This patch together with the sh7785 specific intc tables solves
DMA controller irq issues related to buggy interrupt masking.

GENERIC_TIME still depends on the clocksource bits being there, which is
presently not supported. This allows the CMT clockevent driver to be used
alongside alternate system timers that do not yet provide a clocksource
of their own (MTU2 and so on in the case of SH-2A).

Rework and simplify the sched_clock and clocksource code. Instead
of registering the clocksource in a shared file we move it into the
tmu driver. Also, add code to handle sched_clock in the case of no
clocksource.

The T-bit manipulation for syscall error checking had the side effect of
spuriously returning ERESTART* errno values over EINTR. So, we simplify
the error checking a bit and leave the T-bit alone.

This fixes a bug in the FPU exception handler for the FCNVDS instruction.
To get the register number the instruction is shifted right by 9,
though it should be shifted right by 8.

CPUs define pinmux tables through the optional interface, while boards
that require demux of their own require it explicitly. Roll the Makefile
rules back to depend on GENERIC_GPIO, which covers both cases.
Fixes a link error with an undefined reference to register_pinmux() on
optional platforms.

This patch updates the SuperH gpio code to make use of gpiolib. The
gpiolib callbacks get() and set() are lockless, but we use our own
spinlock for the other operations to make sure hardware register
bitfield accesses stay atomic.

This patch optimizes the gpio data register handling for gpio_set_value().
Instead of using the good old spinlock-plus-read-modify-write strategy
we now use a shadow register and atomic operations.
This improves the bitbanging mmc performance on Migo-R from 26 Kbytes/s
to 40 Kbytes/s.

This patch modifies the table based SuperH gpio implementation to
make use of direct table lookups. With this change the functions
gpio_get_value() and gpio_set_value() are O(1).
Tested on Migo-R using bitbanging mmc. Performance is improved from
11 KBytes/s to 26 Kbytes/s.

unaligned and nonexistent address causes wrong exception
handling in traps_32.c(handle_unaligned_access).
'handle_unalinged_ins' should return -EFAULT if address error
is fixed up with kernel exception table, otherwise
'handle_unaligned_access' increases already fixed program counter
and then crash.
for example
ioctl(fd, TCGETA, (struct termio *)-1)
never return and stay in TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE state forever
in my kernel.

While looking at reducing the amount of architecture namespace pollution
in the generic kernel, I found that asm/irq.h is included in the vast
majority of compilations on ARM (around 650 files.)
Since asm/irq.h includes a sub-architecture include file on ARM, this
causes a negative impact on the ccache's ability to re-use the build
results from other sub-architectures, so we have a desire to reduce the
dependencies on asm/irq.h.
It turns out that a major cause of this is the needless include of
linux/hardirq.h into asm-generic/local.h. The patch below removes this
include, resulting in some 250 to 300 files (around half) of the kernel
then omitting asm/irq.h.
My test builds still succeed, provided two ARM files are fixed
(arch/arm/kernel/traps.c and arch/arm/mm/fault.c) - so there may be
negative impacts for this on other architectures.
Note that x86 does not include asm/irq.h nor linux/hardirq.h in its
asm/local.h, so this patch can be viewed as bringing the generic version
into line with the x86 version.

Fixed up trivial conflict in kernel/time/tick-sched.c manually
arch_setup_additional_pages currently gets two arguments, the binary
format descripton and an indication if the process uses an executable
stack or not. The second argument is not used by anybody, it could
be removed without replacement.
What actually does make sense is to pass an indication if the process
uses the elf interpreter or not. The glibc code will not use anything
from the vdso if the process does not use the dynamic linker, so for
statically linked binaries the architecture backend can choose not
to map the vdso.

This enables the same functionality that sh64 has for sh32. When running
on simulated hardware or via remote memory via the debug interface,
memory is gauranteed to be zero on boot already, and skipping the zeroing
of BSS has measurable boot time benefits.

Now that the rest of the boards that were using cf-enabler "generically"
have switched to setting up their mappings on their own, only the mach-se
boards were left using it. All of the cf-enabler using mach-se boards
use a special initialization of the MRSHPC windows rather than going
through the special PTE as other SH-4 platforms do. This consolidates
the MRSHPC setup logic, hooks it up on the boards that care, and gets rid
of any and all remaining references to cf-enabler.
This has been long overdue, as cf-enabler has been the bane of
arch/sh/kernel for the last 7 years. Good riddance.

This can use the same implementation as sh64, the generated assembly is
the same between the new and old version, so there is not much point in
leaving it open coded in inline assembly.
This is preparatory work for future consolidation of the _32/_64
variants.

With the reworked kgdb support, we always detach and reinitialize the
stub. This was mostly a feature for handoffs between sh-ipl+g and the
kgdb stub, but virtually no sh-ipl+g versions ever had this working
right in the first place.
Given that the sh-ipl+g stubs in general use today don't even support
the GDB stub, and we have already killed off the special casing in the
sh-sci serial driver, kill off this now unused symbol too.

Presently these cases are not handled properly due to the return value

This converts the sh64 /proc/asids entry to debugfs and enables it for
all SH parts that have debugfs enabled.
On MMU systems this can be used to determine which processes are using
which ASIDs which in turn can be used for finer grained cache tag
analysis.

When idle is called, interrupts are blocked, but the idle
function will still wake up on an interrupt. The problem is
that the interrupt disabled latency tracer will take this call
to idle as a latency.
This patch disables the latency tracing when going into idle.

Each SMP arch defines these themselves. Move them to a central
location.
Twists:
1) Some archs (m32, parisc, s390) set possible_map to all 1, so we add a
CONFIG_INIT_ALL_POSSIBLE for this rather than break them.
2) mips and sparc32 '#define cpu_possible_map phys_cpu_present_map'.
Those archs simply have phys_cpu_present_map replaced everywhere.
3) Alpha defined cpu_possible_map to cpu_present_map; this is tricky
so I just manipulate them both in sync.
4) IA64, cris and m32r have gratuitous 'extern cpumask_t cpu_possible_map'
declarations.

Under qemu there is a race between the TDxE read-and-clear and the SCxTDR
write. While on hardware it can be gauranteed that the read-and-clear
will happen prior to the character being written out, no such assumption
can be made under emulation. As this path happens with IRQs off and the
hardware itself doesn't care about the ordering, move the SCxTDR write
until after the read-and-clear.

During the resume the kernel reprograms the TMU0.ClockEvent mode
but if the mode is periodic than the TMU0.TCOR is updated with
a random wrong value without taking care latest valid saved value.
There was no problem with No_HZ system where TMU0.TCOR isn't used.

Presently there is very little standing in the way of using an SH-4
toolchain for building an SH-2 kernel, and vice versa. Binutils itself
has no limitations whatsoever and supports explicit ISA hinting, which
we already use with varying degrees of success today.
This leaves GCC as the odd one out, due to a rather dubious policy
decision by the GCC folks to not include all of the CPU family variants
in the default list of multilib targets in GCC4. Despite best efforts to
the contrary, libgcc itself already contains awareness of the various CPU
types and remains generally usable, allowing it to safely be referenced
even on a mismatched target (and indeed, explicit ISA tuning by binutils
keeps us honest in terms of ensuring that we do not link incompatible
objects in).
In order to support this, a couple of changes had to be made. Firstly,
the introduction of MAYBE_DECLARE_EXPORT(), which provides a __weak
extern reference for libgcc resident routines when finer-grained
-m<cpu-family> based tuning is not supported by the toolchain. This
fixes up the __sdivsi3_i4i and __udivsi3_i4i references when dealing
with SH-2 kernels linked with an SH-4 libgcc. Secondly, in case where we
are unable to find a suitable match for CPU family tuning but still
have a toolchain that defaults to FP instruction generation, a suitable
nofpu target must be selected. This is accomplished by selecting the
first nofpu multilib target supported by the toolchain, which is
also necessary for selecting the proper libgcc to link against.

This patch improves the support for gpio pins that are hard wired
to either input or output and lack control register association.
A special force enum id is used to allow use without control
register but still mark the gpio pin as input or output.

Commit 3f5a54e371 ("ftrace: dump out ftrace
buffers to console on panic") added an ftrace buffer dumper that hooks
in to the die notifier chain and dumps out data in the oops path.
Unfortunately SH supported ftrace but didn't support DIE_OOPS, so add
that in and get it building again.

o elfcorehdr_addr is used by not only the code under CONFIG_PROC_VMCORE
but also by the code which is not inside CONFIG_PROC_VMCORE. For
example, is_kdump_kernel() is used by powerpc code to determine if
kernel is booting after a panic then use previous kernel's TCE table.
So even if CONFIG_PROC_VMCORE is not set in second kernel, one should be
able to correctly determine that we are booting after a panic and setup
calgary iommu accordingly.
o So remove the assumption that elfcorehdr_addr is under
CONFIG_PROC_VMCORE.
o Move definition of elfcorehdr_addr to arch dependent crash files.
(Unfortunately crash dump does not have an arch independent file
otherwise that would have been the best place).
o kexec.c is not the right place as one can Have CRASH_DUMP enabled in
second kernel without KEXEC being enabled.
o I don't see sh setup code parsing the command line for
elfcorehdr_addr. I am wondering how does vmcore interface work on sh.
Anyway, I am atleast defining elfcoredhr_addr so that compilation is not
broken on sh.

The pinmux management is tied in to this code, while it is presently only
used by platforms that select GENERIC_GPIO. The asm/gpio.h definitions
are not referenced when GENERIC_GPIO is disabled, resulting in a build
failure for all of the platforms that don't select it.

This tidies up a lot of the PIO/MMIO split. No in-tree platforms were
making use of the MMIO overloading through the machvec (nor have any of
them been in some time), so we just kill all of that off. The ISA I/O
routine wrapping remains unaffected, which remains the only special
casing outside of the iomap API that boards need to think about.

This implements a few trace points across events that are deemed
interesting. This implements a number of trace points:
- The page fault handler / TLB miss
- IPC calls
- Kernel thread creation
The original LTTng patch had the slow-path instrumented, which
fails to account for the vast majority of events. In general
placing this in the fast-path is not a huge performance hit, as
we don't take page faults for kernel addresses.
The other bits of interest are some of the other trap handlers, as
well as the syscall entry/exit (which is better off being handled
through the tracehook API). Most of the other trap handlers are corner
cases where alternate means of notification exist, so there is little
value in placing extra trace points in these locations.
Based on top of the points provided both by the LTTng instrumentation
patch as well as the patch shipping in the ST-Linux tree, albeit in a
stripped down form.

These have been using overrides for ELF_CORE_COPY_TASK_REGS and
ELF_CORE_COPY_FPREGS while the generic versions can be used instead.
Presently the pt_regs are also duplicated across elf_core_copy_regs()
and elf_core_copy_task_regs(), this switches to simply copying out
through elf_core_copy_regs() instead.

Right now, there is no notifier that is called on a new cpu, before the new
cpu begins processing interrupts/softirqs.
Various kernel function would need that notification, e.g. kvm works around
by calling smp_call_function_single(), rcu polls cpu_online_map.
The patch adds a CPU_STARTING notification. It also adds a helper function
that sends the message to all cpu_chain handlers.
Tested on x86-64.
All other archs are untested. Especially on sparc, I'm not sure if I got
it right.

All CPUs must have a sensible cpu_clk definition these days, which we can
safely use for deriving the preset loops_per_jiffy. The only odd one out
is SH-5, which hasn't been hammered in to the framework yet.

Presently this is doing a force_sig() SIGTRAP, which is already taken
care of in the generic code if no one asserts NOTIFY_STOP. Switch the
default return to NOTIFY_DONE in the case of unhandled traps, so that
the same trap may pass through to other users on the same die chain.

This fixes a problems with the set up of Linux memory:
- When reserving memory at boot time, the code previously reserved
the bottom page of memory, and then from one page up to the end of
the bootmap. This had the desired effect, but was strictly speaking
wrong, as the one page was actually whatever CONFIG_ZERO_PAGE_OFFSET
had been set to.

This patch fixes a problem within the SH implementation of resume_kernel code,
that implements in assembly the bulk of preempt_schedule_irq function without
taking care of the extra code needed to handle the BKL preemptible.
The patch basically consists of removing this asm code and calling the common
C implementation (see kernel/sched.c) as other archs do.
Another change is the missing 'cli' macro invocation at the beginning of
the resume_kernel.

The crash kernel entry point is currently checked by the kexec kernel
code and only physical addresses in the reserved memory window are
accepted. This means that we can't pass P2 or P1 addresses as entry
points in the case of crash kernels. This patch makes sure we can start
crash kernels by adding support for physical address entry points.

This code makes sh7343 share the sh7722 clock code. Instead of just using
the good and very old sh7343 clock implmentation, switch to the new MSTPCR
enabled clock code. SIU clocks are disabled on sh7343 for now.
With this change all SuperH Mobile devices now use the same clock code.

The current kernel behaviour is to reenable interrupts unconditionally
when taking a page fault. This patch changes this to only enable them
if interrupts were previously enabled.
It also fixes a problem seen with this fix in place: the kernel previously
flushed the vsyscall page when handling a signal, which is not only
unncessary, but caused a possible sleep with interrupts disabled.

Currently this is only linked in for CONFIG_BINFMT_ELF, make it dependent
on CONFIG_ELF_CORE, so it's both selectable there and also linked in for

This patch provides an enhancement to kexec/kdump. It implements the
following features:
- Backup/restore memory used by the original kernel before/after
kexec.
- Save/restore CPU state before/after kexec.
The features of this patch can be used as a general method to call program in
physical mode (paging turning off). This can be used to call BIOS code under
Linux.
kexec-tools needs to be patched to support kexec jump. The patches and
the precompiled kexec can be download from the following URL:

Usage example of calling some physical mode code and return:
1. Compile and install patched kernel with following options selected:
CONFIG_X86_32=y
CONFIG_KEXEC=y
CONFIG_PM=y
CONFIG_KEXEC_JUMP=y
2. Build patched kexec-tool or download the pre-built one.
3. Build some physical mode executable named such as "phy_mode"
4. Boot kernel compiled in step 1.
5. Load physical mode executable with /sbin/kexec. The shell command
line can be as follow:
/sbin/kexec --load-preserve-context --args-none phy_mode
6. Call physical mode executable with following shell command line:
/sbin/kexec -e
Implementation point:
To support jumping without reserving memory. One shadow backup page (source
page) is allocated for each page used by kexeced code image (destination
page). When do kexec_load, the image of kexeced code is loaded into source
pages, and before executing, the destination pages and the source pages are
swapped, so the contents of destination pages are backupped. Before jumping
to the kexeced code image and after jumping back to the original kernel, the
destination pages and the source pages are swapped too.
C ABI (calling convention) is used as communication protocol between
kernel and called code.
A flag named KEXEC_PRESERVE_CONTEXT for sys_kexec_load is added to
indicate that the loaded kernel image is used for jumping back.
Now, only the i386 architecture is supported.

This patch introduces the new syscall pipe2 which is like pipe but it also
takes an additional parameter which takes a flag value. This patch implements
the handling of O_CLOEXEC for the flag. I did not add support for the new
syscall for the architectures which have a special sys_pipe implementation. I
think the maintainers of those archs have the chance to go with the unified
implementation but that's up to them.
The implementation introduces do_pipe_flags. I did that instead of changing
all callers of do_pipe because some of the callers are written in assembler.
I would probably screw up changing the assembly code. To avoid breaking code
do_pipe is now a small wrapper around do_pipe_flags. Once all callers are
changed over to do_pipe_flags the old do_pipe function can be removed.
The following test must be adjusted for architectures other than x86 and
x86-64 and in case the syscall numbers changed.

Jack Ren and Eric Miao tracked down the following long standing
problem in the NOHZ code:
scheduler switch to idle task
enable interrupts
Window starts here
----> interrupt happens (does not set NEED_RESCHED)
irq_exit() stops the tick
----> interrupt happens (does set NEED_RESCHED)
return from schedule()
cpu_idle(): preempt_disable();
Window ends here
The interrupts can happen at any point inside the race window. The
first interrupt stops the tick, the second one causes the scheduler to
rerun and switch away from idle again and we end up with the tick
disabled.
The fact that it needs two interrupts where the first one does not set
NEED_RESCHED and the second one does made the bug obscure and extremly
hard to reproduce and analyse. Kudos to Jack and Eric.
Solution: Limit the NOHZ functionality to the idle loop to make sure
that we can not run into such a situation ever again.

The USBF function on sh7722 is currently not working with the m66592_udc
driver. The driver is using platform_get_resource_byname() so my commit
a0d29798e5 broke sh7722 support.
The long term fix is to replace platform_get_resource_byname() in the
driver with platform_get_resource(), but this helps until that happens.

There are a few different types of debug trap exceptions, though now
that they are all going through a special jump table, the restorer needs
to be unified as well.
Presently this is falling through the ret_from_fork path, which more or
less does the right thing on SH-3/4 whilst being completely unsuitable on
MMU-less targets.
Ultimately what we want here is a branch through the platform's
restore_all directly, without worrying about the retval being clobbered.
We can accomplish that through a branch to __restore_all directly, so
switch it so we come back from the jump table and branch to the restorer.
This fixes up a recursion in the nommu WARN_ON() path, as well as some
other userspace nastiness where said recursion caused serious stack
corruption.

Currently is_valid_bugaddr() is true for anything >= PAGE_OFFSET, which
happens to be 0 on nommu configurations. Make this a bit smarter by just
reading in the opcode and comparing it against the trap type that we
already know. Follows the logic from avr32.

When using initramfs on systems that don't explicitly clear LOADER_TYPE,
unpack_to_rootfs() tramples tramples the range with the defaults taken
out of .empty_zero_page. This causes kernels with valid initramfs images
to bail out with crc or gzip magic mismatch errors after the second
unpack takes place on certain platform configurations.

Add a common hex array in hexdump.c so everyone can use it.
Add a common hi/lo helper to avoid the shifting masking that is
done to get the upper and lower nibbles of a byte value.
Pull the pack_hex_byte helper from kgdb as it is opencoded many
places in the tree that will be consolidated.

Clean up the intc tables by removing unneeded #ifdefs. The vector
list is what selects which interrupt sources that should be added,
having unsupported bitfields listed is ok as long as the vector
is excluded from the list.

This replaces the duplicated arch-specific versions of "sys_pipe()" with
one unified implementation. This removes almost 250 lines of duplicated
code.
It's marked __weak, so that *if* an architecture wants to override the
default implementation it can do so by simply having its own replacement
version, since many architectures use alternate calling conventions for
the 'pipe()' system call for legacy reasons (ie traditional UNIX
implementations often return the two file descriptors in registers)
I still haven't changed the cris version even though Linus says the BKL
isn't needed. The arch maintainer can easily do it if there are really
no obstacles.

SH7723 is the first hard silicon to implement the L2, and unsurprisingly,
does the precise inverse of what the specification alleges. XOR the
URAM/L2 size bits to get back in line with the existing parsing logic.

The SH-4A series probe we were relying on doesn't work any more on the
newer parts, bump this up to use CVR.CHIP instead so we have consistent
behaviour across all of the parts, which is what this should have been

Presently with preempt enabled there's the possibility to be preempted
after the TIF_USEDFPU test and the register save, leading to bogus
state post-__switch_to(). Use an explicit preempt_disable()/enable()
pair around unlazy_fpu()/clear_fpu() to avoid this. Follows the x86
change.

Presently the SH-2/SH-2A address error exception dispatch copies off the
register state from the stack and skips over the first register, skewing
the rest. Fix up the math here so that the proper register state is
handed down to the exception handler itself.

This header is needed on other architectures as well (namely h8300),
which currently fails to build without this in place. Rather than
duplicating the port definition completely there, just move this to a
common location instead.
This should get h8300 working again for 2.6.25, in addition to the
changes already pushed by Sato-san in -rc2.

The idea is that we want to get rid of the in/out/readb/writeb callbacks from
the machvec and replace that with simple inline read and write operations to
memory. Fast and simple for most hardware devices (think pci).
Some devices require special treatment though - like 16-bit only CF devices -
so we need to have some method to hook in callbacks.
This patch makes it possible to add a per-device trap generating filter. This
way we can get maximum performance of sane hardware - which doesn't need this
filter - and crappy hardware works but gets punished by a performance hit.
V2 changes things around a bit and replaces io access callbacks with a
simple minimum_bus_width value. In the future we can add stride as well.

This patch adds byte support to the sign extension code. Unaligned access
traps should never be generated on 8-bit io operations, but we will use this
code for trapped io and we do need byte support there.

Commit d3d74453c3 ("hrtimer: fixup the
HRTIMER_CB_IRQSAFE_NO_SOFTIRQ fallback") broke several archs, and since
only Russell bothered to merge the fix, and Greg to ACK his arch, I'm
sending this for merger.
I have confirmation that the Alpha bit results in a booting kernel.
That leaves: blackfin, frv, sh and sparc untested.
The deadlock in question was found by Russell:
IRQ handle
-> timer_tick() - xtime seqlock held for write
-> update_process_times()
-> run_local_timers()
-> hrtimer_run_queues()
-> hrtimer_get_softirq_time() - tries to get a read lock
Now, Thomas assures me the fix is trivial, only do_timer() needs to be
done under the xtime_lock, and update_process_times() can savely be
removed from under it.

This patchset adds a flags variable to reserve_bootmem() and uses the
BOOTMEM_EXCLUSIVE flag in crashkernel reservation code to detect collisions
between crashkernel area and already used memory.
This patch:
Change the reserve_bootmem() function to accept a new flag BOOTMEM_EXCLUSIVE.
If that flag is set, the function returns with -EBUSY if the memory already
has been reserved in the past. This is to avoid conflicts.
Because that code runs before SMP initialisation, there's no race condition
inside reserve_bootmem_core().

This patch removes interrupt priority tables from the intc code.
Optimal priority assignment varies with embedded application anyway,
so keeping the interrupt priority tables together with cpu-specific
code doesn't make sense.
The function intc_set_priority() should be used instead to set the
desired interrupt priority level.

This adds in the L1I/L1D/L2 cache shape support to their respective
entries in the ELF auxvt, based on the Alpha implementation. We use
this on the userspace libc side for calculating a tightly packed
SHMLBA amongst other things.

Presently most of the 29-bit physical parts do P1/P2 segmentation
with a 1:1 cached/uncached mapping, jumping between the two to
control the caching behaviour. This provides the basic infrastructure
to maintain this behaviour on 32-bit physical parts that don't map
P1/P2 at all, using a shiny new linker section and corresponding
fixmap entry.

This implements kernel-level atomic rollback built on top of gUSA,
as an alternative non-IRQ based atomicity method. This is generally
a faster method for platforms that are lacking the LL/SC pairs that
SH-4A and later use, and is only supportable on legacy cores.

Shoves a magic word in to the empty_zero_page section for the
bootloader to work out whether to start the kernel in 29-bit
or 32-bit mode.
[ Renesas CPUs already take care of the initial PMB mappings entirely
in hardware and decide on 29-bit/32-bit physical depending on which
pin powered up the CPU, so this is mostly for ST parts. -- PFM ].

This adds support for the SH7263 (SH-2A) CPU.
This particular CPU is a superset of SH7203, adding some additional
peripheral blocks and hooking up additional (reserved on SH7203)
vectors in the INTC block.
No visibly nasty surprises, yet..

This is trivial, in that they're both effectively the same for the base
relocations anyways. SH-5 doesn't need the unaligned bits, and has a
few extra relocations, which are never hit on non-SH5 parts.

All kobjects require a dynamically allocated name now. We no longer
need to keep track if the name is statically assigned, we can just
unconditionally free() all kobject names on cleanup.

The ST40 stuff in-tree hasn't built for some time, and hasn't been
updated for over 3 years. ST maintains their own out-of-tree changes
and rebases occasionally, and that's ultimately where all of the ST40
users go anyways.
In order for the ST40 code to be brought up to date most of the stuff
removed in this changeset would have to be rewritten anyways, so there's
very little benefit in keeping the remnants around either.

This was all reworked some time ago, the old debug_enter was ripped
out with everything going through a debug trap jump table instead.
Kill off the debug_enter target and reference kgdb_handle_exception
directly.

It's assumed that .eh_frame is terminated with 4-byte 0 in shared
libraries and executable. It seems to be the case for VDSOs too.
Without this terminator, I saw failures when unwinding from VDSO,
though I don't know how other architectures handle this issue.
For the normal libs, crtendS.o gives this terminator. We can use
such terminating objects. Or we can add a 4-byte 0 with modifying
the linker script like as the patch below.

While using separate IRQ stacks can cut down on stack consumption,
many users can also use 4k stacks directly without the additional
need of separate stacks for soft and hardirqs.
With this split, we support the same rationale for 4KSTACKS as
m68knommu, with the IRQSTACKS abstraction as per ppc64.

When the SH kernel used to support embedding a ramdisk in the
pre-initramfs days it was placed in a special section and made to
look like a regular initrd. Since that was removed ages ago, kill
off the remaining cruft that was missed.

memory_end was being clobbered by whatever the kernel config had
specified, rather than obeying the setup option. Fix this up so
that memory_end is only initialized if nothing has been set on
the command line.

This patch removes the crashkernel parsing from arch/sh/kernel/machine_kexec.c
and calls the generic function, introduced in the generic patch, in
setup_bootmem_allocator().
This is necessary because the amount of System RAM must be known in this
function now because of the new syntax.

One of the easiest things to isolate is the pid printed in kernel log.
There was a patch, that made this for arch-independent code, this one makes
so for arch/xxx files.
It took some time to cross-compile it, but hopefully these are all the
printks in arch code.

With the PERCPU() macro introduction .data.cacheline_aligned was
inhereting PAGE_SIZE alignment, fix that up for L1_CACHE_BYTES
again. Likewise, the initramfs section wants PAGE_SIZE alignment.

At some point way back when (2.5 or so) quite a few syscalls hadn't
yet been wired up as cond_syscalls(), so we opted to just do direct
sys_ni_syscall wrapping in the assembly code instead. That's all
been fixed up since then, so we can drop the wrapping.

kgdb had its own ranged I-cache flushing routine that attempted to
duplicate the flush_icache_range() functionality, but managed to do
an explicit D-cache writeback & invalidate twice on SH-4. This is
a no-op for SH-3, and the flush_icache_range() semantics already do
what kgdb was feebly attempting to do already, so just move over to
that and kill off the wrapper.

The kgdb console setup was callable from a left-over deferred
initialization path, which in turn depends on __init symbols. Since
the deferred initialization was removed some time ago, kill off the
rest of those remnants and move kgdb_init() and friends to __init.

setup_early_printk() can be static, and with that, we can kill off
the early initialization variable and move the CON_BOOT check in

This conditionalizes gUSA support. gUSA is not supported on
SMP configurations, and it's not necessary there anyways due
to having other atomicity options (ie, movli.l/movco.l).
Anything implementing the LL/SC semantics (all SH-4A CPUs)
can switch to userspace atomicity implementations without
requiring gUSA. This is left default-enabled on all UP so
that glibc doesn't break.
Those that know what they are doing can disable this explicitly.

Currently gUSA toggles hardirqs to disable preemption in the signal
handler. Make the preemption toggling explicit, and kill off some
CONFIG_PREEMPT ifdefs in the process.

Not all of the SH-X2 URAM blocks are mapped in the same place,
SH7785 happens to map it on the opposite end of the address space
from SH7722, correct the addresses.

This moves off of smp_processor_id() and only sets the probe
information for the boot CPU directly. This will be copied out
for the secondaries, so there's no reason to do this each time.
This also allows for some header tidying.

The probing logic works for both URAM and L2, with no way to
distinguish between the two. Disable the probing for now and
let the CPU subtypes that have this in a real L2 configuration
explicitly say so.

This adds basic support for SH-X3 SMP (4 CPUs).
More IPI and cache debugging is necessary, mostly interfacing the
d-cache coherency and the I-cache broadcast invalidates. Only for
testing at present!

There was a very preliminary bunch of SMP code scattered around for the
SH7604 microcontrollers from way back when, and it has mostly suffered
bitrot since then. With the tree already having been slowly getting
prepped for SMP, this plugs in most of the remaining platform-independent
bits.

This patch contains the following fixes and improvements:
- Fix address typo for INTMSK2 / INTMSKCLR2 registers on sh7780.
- Adds IRQ_MODE_IRLnnnn_MASK using intc controller for IRL masking.

structures in the initdata section.
Version two of this patch puts the __initdata inside DECLARE_INTC_DESC()
and removes the __initdata included in the board specific r2d code.

This patch reworks the intc core, implementing the following features:
- Support dual priority registers - one set and one clear register
- All 8/16/32 bit register combinations are now supported
- Both single mask and single enable bitmap register are supported
- Add code to set interrupt priority
- Speedup sense and priority configuration code
- Allocate data using bootmem, allows intc data structures to be
__initdata
- Save memory - allocated memory footprint is smaller than intc
structures

IRL doesn't always define sense registers, so don't bother trying to
iterate through the table. This ended up causing an oops on SH-X3
when using IRL mode.

This patch adds single bitmap register support to intc. The current
code only handles 16 and 32 bit registers where a set bit means
interrupt enabled, but this is easy to extend in the future.
The INTC_IRQ() macro is also added to provide a way to hook in
interrupt controllers for FPGAs in boards or companion chips.

This patch removes redundant board specific interrupt code for boards
using sh775x processors and 4 IRQ lines in "Individual Interrupt Mode"
aka IRLM.
Three boards are affected: sh03, snapgear and titan.
The right way to do this is to use cpu specific code provided by intc.
A nice side effect is that sh03 now compiles, board not BROKEN any more.

All SH-4 parts have a 4-digit year, while the SH-3 parts typically
only use a 2-digit one. The SH7705, SH7710, and SH7712 SH-3 parts
however opted to extend it to 4-digit and still look and act like
an SH-3 RTC in all other ways.
This adds a capability flag (RTC_CAP_4_DIGIT_YEAR) that these
corner-case CPU subtypes can set in their platform data and cleans
up some of the ifdef mess in the driver as a result.

The intc tables for sh3 currently contain a typo where the bit
fields in IPRD are mixed up for IRQ4 and IRQ5. This patch makes
sure the correct bit fields are used - all according to the
datasheets.

This reworks the cache mode configuration in Kconfig, and allows for
explicit selection of write-back/write-through/off configurations.
All of the cache flushing routines are optimized away for the off
case.

This patch unifies the cpu specific interrupt setup code for
sh7706, sh7707, sh7708 and sh7709 and moves the code into a new
file called setup-sh770x.c. It makes sense to share the setup code
between these processors because most hardware blocks are identical
from a software point of view. With this patch the sh770x processors
now have a complete set of vectors that match with the information
provided by the data sheets. This is a big improvement for sh7708.
Vectors for IRQ4 and IRQ5 are enabled by default. Use
plat_irq_setup_pins() if pins IRQ0-3 should be used in IRQ mode.
This patch also unifies the platform device setup code which means
that the rtc driver now has platform data for all sh770x processors.

It seems we have gained an extraneous trailing ';' on one of the
wait loops in scif_sercon_putc(). Although this is completely
benign as the apparent payload is also the empty statement, it
invites error in the future. Clean it up now.

Now that __initmv references the machvec section unconditionally
there have been cases where folks have been mistakenly flagging
non-machvec structures with the machvec section attribute (presumably
to shut up modpost). This leads to obscure breakage in earlyprintk
amongst other places and is rather non-obvious.
Add a simple sanity check to try and catch __initmv misuse and
panic early.

When generic_ptrace_peekdata() was merged, the break for these cases
ended up getting dropped, which lead to each PEEKTEXT/PEEKDATA op leaking
in to PEEKUSR and get_user_pages() always -EFAULTing. Add the break back
in.

SH-X3 has the FPU exceptions on different vectors completely,
patch in do_fpu_state_restore() to the proper vectors.

In the SH-3/4 TLB access violation path we were enabling IRQs before
the call in to trace_hardirqs_on(), which ended up triggering:
if (DEBUG_LOCKS_WARN_ON(!irqs_disabled()))
return;
in kernel/lockdep.c:2031. Fix this up by removing the early re-enable,
we were already re-enabling IRQs post-trace_hardirqs_on() already, so
the semantics are now as was initially intended.

We need to make sure, that the clockevent devices are resumed, before
the tick is resumed. The current resume logic does not guarantee this.
Add CLOCK_EVT_MODE_RESUME and call the set mode functions of the clock
event devices before resuming the tick / oneshot functionality.
Fixup the existing users.

This patch converts the cpu specific 7750 setup code to use the
new intc controller. Many new vectors are added and multiple
processor variants including 7091, 7750, 7750s, 7750r, 7751 and
7751r should all have the correct vectors hooked up.
IRLM interrupts can be enabled using ipr_irq_enable_irlm() which
now is marked as __init.

allmodconfig generates a lot of interesting code, a lot of the
generated symbols we've never exported before, so this fixes
those up. Verified with both GCC3 and GCC4 toolchains.

This gets the SH cpufreq working again. We follow the changes
in the AVR32 implementation for wrapping in to the clock framework.
CPUs that wish to use this are required to define rate rounding
primitives in order to satisfy clk_round_rate().
This works well enough for the common case, though we should
look at unifying this driver across all of the platforms that
implement clock framework support in one capacity or another.

new intc controller. Many new vectors are added and also support for
external interrupt sense configuration. So with this patch it is now
possible to configure external interrupt pins as edge or level
triggered using set_irq_type().
No external interrupts are registered by default.
Use plat_irq_setup_pins() to select between IRQ or IRL mode.
This patch also fixes the Alarm IRQ for the RTC.

This patch improves intc group support, ie it makes it possible to
group interrupts together and mask / unmask the entire group. This
also works with priorities, so setting a priority for an entire group
is also possible. This patch is needed to properly support certain
processors such as the 7780.
Fixes for NULL pointers in DECLARE_INTC_DESC() are also included.

This is the second version of the shared interrupt controller patch
for the sh architecture, fixing up handling of intc_reg_fns[].
The three main advantages with this controller over the existing
ones are:
- Both priority (ipr) and bitmap (intc2) registers are
supported
- External pin sense configuration is supported, ie edge
vs level triggered
- CPU/Board specific code maps 1:1 with datasheet for
easy verification
This controller can easily coexist with the current IPR and INTC2
controllers, but the idea is that CPUs/Boards should be moved over
to this controller over time so we have a single code base to
maintain.

Slab destructors were no longer supported after Christoph's
c59def9f22 change. They've been
BUGs for both slab and slub, and slob never supported them
either.
This rips out support for the dtor pointer from kmem_cache_create()
completely and fixes up every single callsite in the kernel (there were
about 224, not including the slab allocator definitions themselves,
or the documentation references).

per cpu data section contains two types of data. One set which is
exclusively accessed by the local cpu and the other set which is per cpu,
but also shared by remote cpus. In the current kernel, these two sets are
not clearely separated out. This can potentially cause the same data
cacheline shared between the two sets of data, which will result in
unnecessary bouncing of the cacheline between cpus.
One way to fix the problem is to cacheline align the remotely accessed per
cpu data, both at the beginning and at the end. Because of the padding at
both ends, this will likely cause some memory wastage and also the
interface to achieve this is not clean.
This patch:
Moves the remotely accessed per cpu data (which is currently marked
as ____cacheline_aligned_in_smp) into a different section, where all the data
elements are cacheline aligned. And as such, this differentiates the local
only data and remotely accessed data cleanly.

If the kernel OOPSed or BUGed then it probably should be considered as
tainted. Thus, all subsequent OOPSes and SysRq dumps will report the
tainted kernel. This saves a lot of time explaining oddities in the
calltraces.
