During the cache sync test we verify that values we expect to have been written only to the cache do not appear in the hardware. This works most of the time but since we randomly generate both the original and new values there is a low probability that these values may actually be the same. Wrap get_random_bytes() to ensure that the values are different, there are other tests which should have similar verification that we actually changed something. While we're at it refactor the test to use three changed values rather than attempting to use one of them twice, that just complicates checking that our new values are actually new. We use random generation to try to avoid data dependencies in the tests. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
