ASoC: soc-utils: Add kunit test for snd_soc_tdm_params_to_bclk()
Create a new kunit test for soc-utils and use it to test
snd_soc_tdm_params_to_bclk().

The test uses a table of values to avoid the possibility that an
on-the-fly generator contains the same algorithmic error as the
function-under-test and so fails to detect a bug.

There is no need to test every possible combination of values.
Enough test cases are included to give confidence that the function
is producing the correct results.

ASoC: topology: Select SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS
The indexes of the devices are described within the topology file, it is a
possibility that the topology encodes invalid indexes when DYNAMIC_MINORS
is not enabled in kernel:

 #define SNDRV_MINOR_COMPRESS		2	/* 2 - 3 */
 #define SNDRV_MINOR_HWDEP		4	/* 4 - 7 */
 #define SNDRV_MINOR_RAWMIDI		8	/* 8 - 15 */
 #define SNDRV_MINOR_PCM_PLAYBACK	16	/* 16 - 23 */
 #define SNDRV_MINOR_PCM_CAPTURE	24	/* 24 - 31 */

If the topology assigns an index greater than 7 for PLAYBACK/CAPTURE PCM
then there will be minor number collision.

As an example:
card0 creates a capture PCM with index 10 -> minor = 34
card1 creates compress device with index 0 -> minor = 34

Card1 will fail to instantiate because the minor for the compress stream is
already taken.

To avoid seemingly mysterious issues with card creation, select the
DYNAMIC_MINORS when the topology is enabled.

The other option would be to try to do out of bound index checks in case of
DYNAMIC_MINOR is not enabled and do not even attempt to create the device
with failing the topology load.

ASoC: topology: KUnit: Add KUnit tests passing various arguments to snd_soc_tplg_component_load
In order to ensure correct behaviour of topology API, add unit tests
exercising topology functionality.

Start with adding cases for passing various arguments to
snd_soc_tplg_component_load as it is part of exposed topology API.

First test case adds test passing NULL component as argument.
Following one adds test case for passing NULL ops as argument.
Finally add test case passing NULL fw as argument.

a7f7f6248d treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'
Since commit 84af7a6194 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.

This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.

There are a variety of indentation styles found.

  a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
  b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
  c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
  d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
  e) 1 tab + '---help---'    (correct indentation)
  f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
  g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

  $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'

ASoC: ti: Merge davinci and omap directories
Create new directory to contain all Texas Instruments specific DAI,
platform and machine drivers instead of scattering them under davinci and
omap directories.

There is already inter dependency between the two directories becasue of
McASP (on dra7x it is serviced by sDMA, not EDMA).

With the upcoming AM654 we will need to introduce new platform driver for
UDMA and it does not fit under davinci, nor under omap.

With the move I have restructured the Kconfig to be more usable in the era
of simple-sound-card:
CPU DAIs can be selected individually and they will select the platform
driver they can be served with.

To avoid breakage, I have moved over deprecated Kconfig options so
defconfig builds will work without regression.

fe0d128c57 ALSA: jack: Allow building the jack layer without input device
Since the recent integration of kctl jack and input jack layers, we
can basically build the jack layer even without input devices. That
is, the jack layer itself can be built with conditional to enable the
input device support or not, while the users may enable always
CONFIG_SND_JACK unconditionally.

For achieving it, this patch changes the following:
- A new Kconfig, CONFIG_SND_JACK_INPUT_DEV, was introduced to indicate
  whether the jack layer supports the input device,
- A few items in snd_jack struct and relevant codes are conditionally
  built upon CONFIG_SND_JACK_INPUT_DEV,
- The users of CONFIG_SND_JACK drop the messy dependency on
  CONFIG_INPUT.

This change also automagically fixes a potential bug in HD-audio
driver Arnd reported, where the NULL or uninitialized jack instance is
dereferenced.

reference designs for various FPGA platforms.

The driver uses the generic PCM dmaengine driver for its PCM. The only
restriction is that we need to set the SND_DMAENGINE_PCM_FLAG_NO_RESIDUE flag as
the dmaengine driver for the DMA core (PL330) that is used with this core has no
residue reporting capabilities yet. This will be fixed in the future though.

c6aeb7de22 ASoC: Add support for BCM2835
This driver adds support for digital audio (I2S)
for the BCM2835 SoC that is used by the
Raspberry Pi. External audio codecs can be
connected to the Raspberry Pi via P5 header.

It relies on cyclic DMA engine support for BCM2835.

b7ae6f31d8 ALSA: move dmaengine implementation from ASoC to ALSA core
For the PXA DMA rework, we need the generic dmaengine implementation
that currently lives in sound/soc for standalone (non-ASoC) AC'97
support.

Move it to sound/core, and rename the Kconfig symbol.

28c4468b00 ASoC: Add a generic dmaengine_pcm driver
This patch adds a generic dmaengine PCM driver. It builds on top of the
dmaengine PCM library and adds the missing pieces like DMA channel management,
buffer management and channel configuration. It will be able to replace the
majority of the existing platform specific dmaengine based PCM drivers.
Devicetree is used to map the DMA channels to the PCM device.
