refcount_t type and corresponding API should be
used instead of atomic_t when the variable is used as
a reference counter. This allows to avoid accidental
refcounter overflows that might lead to use-after-free
situations.

Joe and Bjørn suggested that it'd be nicer to not have the
cast in the fairly common case of doing
*(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 1) = c;
Add skb_put_u8() for this case, and use it across the code,
using the following spatch:
@@

typedef u8;
identifier fn = {skb_put};
fresh identifier fn2 = fn ## "_u8";
@@
- *(u8 *)fn(SKB, S) = C;

Note that due to the "S", the spatch isn't perfect, it should
have checked that S is 1, but there's also places that use a
sizeof expression like sizeof(var) or sizeof(u8) etc. Turns
out that nobody ever did something like
*(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 2) = c;
which would be wrong anyway since the second byte wouldn't be
initialized.

Merge tag 'hwparam-20170420' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-fs
Pull hw lockdown support from David Howells:
"Annotation of module parameters that configure hardware resources
including ioports, iomem addresses, irq lines and dma channels.
This allows a future patch to prohibit the use of such module
parameters to prevent that hardware from being abused to gain access
to the running kernel image as part of locking the kernel down under
UEFI secure boot conditions.
Annotations are made by changing:
module_param(n, t, p)
module_param_named(n, v, t, p)
module_param_array(n, t, m, p)
to:
module_param_hw(n, t, hwtype, p)
module_param_hw_named(n, v, t, hwtype, p)
module_param_hw_array(n, t, hwtype, m, p)
where the module parameter refers to a hardware setting
hwtype specifies the type of the resource being configured. This can
be one of:
ioport Module parameter configures an I/O port
iomem Module parameter configures an I/O mem address
ioport_or_iomem Module parameter could be either (runtime set)
irq Module parameter configures an I/O port
dma Module parameter configures a DMA channel
dma_addr Module parameter configures a DMA buffer address
other Module parameter configures some other value
Note that the hwtype is compile checked, but not currently stored (the
lockdown code probably won't require it). It is, however, there for
future use.
A bonus is that the hwtype can also be used for grepping.
The intention is for the kernel to ignore or reject attempts to set
annotated module parameters if lockdown is enabled. This applies to
options passed on the boot command line, passed to insmod/modprobe or
direct twiddling in /sys/module/ parameter files.
The module initialisation then needs to handle the parameter not being
set, by (1) giving an error, (2) probing for a value or (3) using a
reasonable default.
What I can't do is just reject a module out of hand because it may
take a hardware setting in the module parameters. Some important
modules, some ipmi stuff for instance, both probe for hardware and
allow hardware to be manually specified; if the driver is aborts with
any error, you don't get any ipmi hardware.
Further, trying to do this entirely in the module initialisation code
doesn't protect against sysfs twiddling.
[!] Note that in and of itself, this series of patches should have no
effect on the the size of the kernel or code execution - that is
left to a patch in the next series to effect. It does mark
annotated kernel parameters with a KERNEL_PARAM_FL_HWPARAM flag in
an already existing field"

When the kernel is running in secure boot mode, we lock down the kernel to
prevent userspace from modifying the running kernel image. Whilst this
includes prohibiting access to things like /dev/mem, it must also prevent
access by means of configuring driver modules in such a way as to cause a
device to access or modify the kernel image.
To this end, annotate module_param* statements that refer to hardware
configuration and indicate for future reference what type of parameter they
specify. The parameter parser in the core sees this information and can
skip such parameters with an error message if the kernel is locked down.
The module initialisation then runs as normal, but just sees whatever the
default values for those parameters is.
Note that we do still need to do the module initialisation because some
drivers have viable defaults set in case parameters aren't specified and
some drivers support automatic configuration (e.g. PNP or PCI) in addition
to manually coded parameters.
This patch annotates drivers in drivers/isdn/.

gcc-7 points out that the AVMB1_ADDCARD ioctl results in an unintialized

drivers/isdn/capi/kcapi.c:1042:24: error: 'cdef.cardnr' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]

This has been broken since before the start of the git history, so
either the value is not used for anything important, or the ioctl
command doesn't get called in practice.
Setting the cardnr to zero avoids the warning and makes sure
we have consistent behavior.

of CONFIG_PPC_8xx.

rather than the 8xx itself.
This patch therefore makes it dependent on CONFIG_CPM1 instead,

Not sure if MISDN stats are ABI but it displays task cputime in cputime_t
raw value regardless of what type cputime_t wraps which could be either
jiffies, nsecs, usecs, or whatever random time unit. Plus it wrongly
assumes that cputime_t is long.
Given that this dump is broken anyway, lets just display the nanosec
value and stick with that.

This API returns a task's cputime in cputime_t in order to ease the
conversion of cputime internals to use nsecs units instead. Blindly
converting all cputime readers to use this API now will later let us
convert more smoothly and step by step all these places to use the
new nsec based cputime.

With some gcc versions, we get a warning about the eicon driver,
and that currently shows up as the only remaining warning in one
of the build bots:
In file included from ../drivers/isdn/hardware/eicon/message.c:30:0:
eicon/message.c: In function 'mixer_notify_update':
eicon/platform.h:333:18: warning: array subscript is above array bounds [-Warray-bounds]
The code is easily changed to open-code the unusual PUT_WORD() line
causing this to avoid the warning.

I noticed that this function uses a lot of kernel stack when the
"latent entropy" plugin is enabled:
drivers/isdn/hardware/eicon/message.c: In function 'sig_ind':
drivers/isdn/hardware/eicon/message.c:6113:1: error: the frame size of 1168 bytes is larger than 1152 bytes [-Werror=frame-larger-than=]
We currently don't warn about this, as we raise the warning limit
to 2048 bytes in mainline, but I'd like to lower that limit again
in the future, and this function can easily be changed to be more
efficient and avoid that warning, by making some of its local
variables 'const'.

In function hfc4s8s_probe(), the value of return variable err should be
negative on failures. However, when the call to request_region() returns
NULL, the value of err is 0. This patch fixes the bug, assigning
"-EBUSY" to err on the path that request_region() fails.

With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.
Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

Modern C standards expect the '__inline__' keyword to come before the return
type in a declaration, and we get many warnings for this with "make W=1"
because the eicon driver has this in a header file:
eicon/divasmain.c:448:1: error: '__inline__' is not at beginning of declaration [-Werror=old-style-declaration]

eicon/platform.h:280:1: error: '__inline__' is not at beginning of declaration [-Werror=old-style-declaration]
A similar warning gets printed for the diva_os_register_io_port()
declaration, because 'register' is interpreted as a keyword instead
of a variable name:

eicon/platform.h:206:1: error: 'register' is not at beginning of declaration [-Werror=old-style-declaration]
