Where "nbcon" stays for "No Big console lock CONsoles" aka not under the console_lock. New callbacks are added to struct console: - write_thread() for flushing nbcon consoles in task context. - write_atomic() for flushing nbcon consoles in atomic context, including NMI. - con->device_lock() and device_unlock() for taking the driver specific lock, for example, port->lock. New printk-specific kthreads are created: - per-console kthreads which get responsible for flushing normal priority messages on nbcon consoles. - thread which gets responsible for flushing normal priority messages on all consoles when CONFIG_RT enabled. The new callbacks are called under a special per-console lock which has already been added back in v6.7. It allows to distinguish three severities: normal, emergency, and panic. A context with a higher priority could take over the ownership when it is safe even in the middle of handling a record. The panic context could do it even when it is not safe. But it is allowed only for the final desperate flush before entering the infinite loop. The new lock helps to flush the messages directly in emergency and panic contexts. But it is not enough in all situations: - console_lock() is still need for synchronization against boot consoles. - con->device_lock() is need for synchronization against other operations on the same HW, e.g. serial port speed setting, non-printk related read/write. The dependency on con->device_lock() is mutual. Any code taking the driver specific lock has to acquire the related nbcon console context as well. For example, see the new uart_port_lock() API. It provides the necessary synchronization against emergency and panic contexts where the messages are flushed only under the new per-console lock. Maybe surprisingly, a quite tricky part is the decision how to flush the consoles in various situations. It has to take into account: - message priority: normal, emergency, panic - scheduling context: task, atomic, deferred_legacy - registered consoles: boot, legacy, nbcon - threads are running: early boot, suspend, shutdown, panic - caller: printk(), pr_flush(), printk_flush_in_panic(), console_unlock(), console_start(), ... The primary decision is made in printk_get_console_flush_type(). It creates a hint what the caller should do: - flush nbcon consoles directly or via the kthread - call the legacy loop (console_unlock()) directly or via irq_work The existing behavior is preserved for the legacy consoles. The only exception is that they are not longer flushed directly from printk() in panic() before CPUs are stopped. But this blocking happens only when at least one nbcon console is registered. The motivation is to increase a chance to produce the crash dump. They legacy consoles might create a deadlock in compare with nbcon consoles. The nbcon console should allow to see the messages even when the crash dump fails. There are three possible ways how nbcon consoles are flushed: - The per-nbcon-console kthread is responsible for flushing messages added with the normal priority. This is the default mode. - The legacy loop, aka console_unlock(), is used when there is still a boot console registered. There is no easy way how to match an early console driver with a nbcon console driver. And the console_lock() provides the only reliable serialization at the moment. The legacy loop uses either con->write_atomic() or con->write_thread() callbacks depending on whether it is allowed to schedule. The atomic variant has to be used from printk(). - In other situations, the messages are flushed directly using write_atomic() which can be called in any context, including NMI. It is primary needed during early boot or shutdown, in emergency situations, and panic. The emergency priority is used by a code called within nbcon_cpu_emergency_enter()/exit(). At the moment, it is used in four situations: WARN(), Oops, lockdep, and RCU stall reports. Finally, there is no nbcon console at the moment. It means that the changes should _not_ modify the existing behavior. The only exception is CONFIG_RT which would force offloading the legacy loop, for normal priority context, into the dedicated kthread" * tag 'printk-for-6.12' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/printk/linux: (54 commits) printk: Avoid false positive lockdep report for legacy printing printk: nbcon: Assign nice -20 for printing threads printk: Implement legacy printer kthread for PREEMPT_RT tty: sysfs: Add nbcon support for 'active' proc: Add nbcon support for /proc/consoles proc: consoles: Add notation to c_start/c_stop printk: nbcon: Show replay message on takeover printk: Provide helper for message prepending printk: nbcon: Rely on kthreads for normal operation printk: nbcon: Use thread callback if in task context for legacy printk: nbcon: Relocate nbcon_atomic_emit_one() printk: nbcon: Introduce printer kthreads printk: nbcon: Init @nbcon_seq to highest possible printk: nbcon: Add context to usable() and emit() printk: Flush console on unregister_console() printk: Fail pr_flush() if before SYSTEM_SCHEDULING printk: nbcon: Add function for printers to reacquire ownership printk: nbcon: Use raw_cpu_ptr() instead of open coding printk: Use the BITS_PER_LONG macro lockdep: Mark emergency sections in lockdep splats ... |

lockdep: Mark emergency sections in lockdep splats
Mark emergency sections wherever multiple lines of lock debugging output are generated. In an emergency section, every printk() call will attempt to directly flush to the consoles using the EMERGENCY priority. Note that debug_show_all_locks() and lockdep_print_held_locks() rely on their callers to enter the emergency section. This is because these functions can also be called in non-emergency situations (such as sysrq). rtmutex: Drop rt_mutex::wait_lock before scheduling
rt_mutex_handle_deadlock() is called with rt_mutex::wait_lock held. In the
good case it returns with the lock held and in the deadlock case it emits a
warning and goes into an endless scheduling loop with the lock held, which
triggers the 'scheduling in atomic' warning.
Unlock rt_mutex::wait_lock in the dead lock case before issuing the warning
and dropping into the schedule for ever loop.
[ tglx: Moved unlock before the WARN(), removed the pointless comment,
massaged changelog, added Fixes tag ]

bcachefs fixes for 6.11-rc3
Assorted little stuff: - lockdep fixup for lockdep_set_notrack_class() - we can now remove a device when using erasure coding without deadlocking, though we still hit other issues - the "allocator stuck" timeout is now configurable, and messages are ratelimited; default timeout has been increased from 10 seconds to 30 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCgAdFiEEKnAFLkS8Qha+jvQrE6szbY3KbnYFAma05JwACgkQE6szbY3K bnYE+Q//VJ6R/UxDoxjk8zgftRcdgwXod6U+/E0Kj3ZBKLYXkcGaWWmmGMkFafBp eL7Y3wtHSKiMsHYX9KEdFUZFLe1KI4c16RgNIXk9nwkF+3/+8pEDHKPFuoGHJH3O HComHGqwVg8Zx2jRNvEkvQ980iH7OBGhCjMFXhJ3xbMGLdw91TQQi49a+Q/vz7QT y3Cl1dgX5xBl7fqKefsYa+X6mpWi4/6t60vJvatI+bvDfznjI6jN3qGVLlQye7tC 6VbJAjHsPPyNMlWa99UaHqDdaM325zR2ES0bsfHd8Up4iAwO8OgjzYQxpYTgi51i 6DTiGEOV2S8gF+Rnprnbzsnau0hEvrtQY2Ub85TCIGbZJa8b+aDIlq9k8jF36O2E 2CUTleQ/E129RxXpkZGsVRpNmemdCi6rHAcluaFEgezX4FJH8BVOwQQq2Xz7rd7E 3ZP5iAWmX0IgOL0VOCP/ZXl/lEMwSk0VAED3jEbT7f2K7rU9nXDO2bIEx1wXDCm1 b32kvmUi2FBjqLHSqvAPEb52tvvZuliMUY7z9dEx+AX9AVC9kGE+amGexosKb/LY nWzey+D0cKHtgbkMFrCClkpg75Tnt9ISJbad53+5qhN8an/a71djdj8Zk0UQnQjv 6Amv4Ns1lDo3XGC1QtYkF5HqiWaupbUXAftptpS4Av4X1zZEQIc= =q1dD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'bcachefs-2024-08-08' of git://evilpiepirate.org/bcachefs Pull bcachefs fixes from Kent Overstreet: "Assorted little stuff: - lockdep fixup for lockdep_set_notrack_class() - we can now remove a device when using erasure coding without deadlocking, though we still hit other issues - the 'allocator stuck' timeout is now configurable, and messages are ratelimited. bcachefs changes for 6.11-rc1 (version 2)
Additional fixes on top of the original 6.11 pull request: - undefined behaviour fixes, originally noted as breaking userspace LTO builds - fix a spurious warning in fsck_err, reported by Marcin - fix an integer overflow on trans->nr_updates, also reported by Marcin; this broke during deletion of highly fragmented indirect extents - Add comments for lockdep functions ====== - Metadata version 1.8: Stripe sectors accounting, BCH_DATA_unstriped This splits out the accounting of dirty sectors and stripe sectors in alloc keys; this lets us see stripe buckets that still have unstriped data in them. This is needed for ensuring that erasure coding is working correctly, as well as completing stripe creation after a crash. - Metadata version 1.9: Disk accounting rewrite The previous disk accounting scheme relied heavily on percpu counters that were also sharded by outstanding journal buffer; it was fast but not extensible or scalable, and meant that all accounting counters were recorded in every journal entry. The new disk accounting scheme stores accounting as normal btree keys; updates are deltas until they are flushed by the btree write buffer. This means we have no practical limit on the number of counters, and a new tagged union format that's easy to extend. We now have counters for compression type/ratio, per-snapshot-id usage, per-btree-id usage, and pending rebalance work. - Self healing on read IO/checksum error data is now automatically rewritten if we get a read error and then a successful retry - Mount API conversion (thanks to Thomas Bertschinger) - Better lockdep coverage Previously, btree node locks were tracked individually by lockdep, like any other lock. But we may take _many_ btree node locks simultaneously, we easily blow through the limit of 48 locks that lockdep can track, leading to lockdep turning itself off. Tracking each btree node lock individually isn't really necessary since we have our own cycle detector for deadlock avoidance and centralized tracking of btree node locks, so we now have a single lockdep_map in btree_trans for "any btree nodes are locked". - some more small incremental work towards online check_allocations - lots more debugging improvements, fixes -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCgAdFiEEKnAFLkS8Qha+jvQrE6szbY3KbnYFAmaZmVYACgkQE6szbY3K bnayLBAAr/RB75neEVzNqzE/qLoz9HBfPs7NrGNZg3bLzie9BvcEKGf3VUs2mm83 6qN/bCJRBhd2vdMcFvIrYYqvD+F2qFFFrBjTzY20toReCwO6q5o8Ihfzv+uSu1qn Lg/6AbwwDwHPgSLcFM6yVfNsNBpOZ4tru7xble5/89RGp5uhbU38tsFwkUcngN/t 4GWjtUYC+rFZaJSbt+wtGtM++nSURhMu1rxbR3MnVLT3JNW0wiG+FnRymCRQOYwx eslI6wP3JArTKMvACJqXTDivmjUPNdvsJ26LW6b5KBLi411OgV219ek0mJlkc5gl lOOZ5LPmPqn0BxsIdqOd+/OGOpvYkfWEyDj6/46K8KKFt+i++vCTzqIeL06HGQFS oCZajoHseLTlWPZTnoi3/KPWkKSJyaROrvFPSHT5/9sJfeeFt88hNSMP9g4+S4GI QSXK70GzEVjxr7YzUZwZUmRGWHt7YcS/qkTKJZRkLwUbr2BnrKEJhOa0t/i3RopN glFP/hP3dObTcWUF4xH90htfD2E/wHbP7nPwNCL6367n18Uj4TJD09vtM8xHsXSR YXECCjfskVDHAQJw/aV5jF1NpaeSW6g/bILi8tQhvRpfzLLvsaVGxA1xp5v+VZEQ w3WBepPofEE1EaVfKNeHCiE7STAnSVbWYWTatmjPdqVCyT7C9S0= =tnhh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'bcachefs-2024-07-18.2' of https://evilpiepirate.org/git/bcachefs Pull bcachefs updates from Kent Overstreet: - Metadata version 1.8: Stripe sectors accounting, BCH_DATA_unstriped This splits out the accounting of dirty sectors and stripe sectors in alloc keys; this lets us see stripe buckets that still have unstriped data in them. Networking changes for 6.11. Not much excitement - a handful of large
patchsets (devmem among them) did not make it in time. Core & protocols ---------------- - Use local_lock in addition to local_bh_disable() to protect per-CPU resources in networking, a step closer for local_bh_disable() not to act as a big lock on PREEMPT_RT. - Use flex array for netdevice priv area, ensure its cache alignment. - Add a sysctl knob to allow user to specify a default rto_min at socket init time. Bit of a big hammer but multiple companies were independently carrying such patch downstream so clearly it's useful. - Support scheduling transmission of packets based on CLOCK_TAI. - Un-pin TCP TIMEWAIT timer to avoid it firing on CPUs later cordoned off using cpusets. - Support multiple L2TPv3 UDP tunnels using the same 5-tuple address. - Allow configuration of multipath hash seed, to both allow synchronizing hashing of two routers, and preventing partial accidental sync. - Improve TCP compliance with RFC 9293 for simultaneous connect(). - Support sending NAT keepalives in IPsec ESP in UDP states. Userspace IKE daemon had to do this before, but the kernel can better keep track of it. - Support sending supervision HSR frames with MAC addresses stored in ProxyNodeTable when RedBox (i.e. HSR-SAN) is enabled. - Introduce IPPROTO_SMC for selecting SMC when socket is created. - Allow UDP GSO transmit from devices with no checksum offload. - openvswitch: add packet sampling via psample, separating the sampled traffic from "upcall" packets sent to user space for forwarding. - nf_tables: shrink memory consumption for transaction objects. Things we sprinkled into general kernel code -------------------------------------------- - Power Sequencing subsystem (used by Qualcomm Bluetooth driver for QCA6390). - Add IRQ information in sysfs for auxiliary bus. - Introduce guard definition for local_lock. - Add aligned flavor of __cacheline_group_{begin, end}() markings for grouping fields in structures. BPF --- - Notify user space (via epoll) when a struct_ops object is getting detached/unregistered. - Add new kfuncs for a generic, open-coded bits iterator. - Enable BPF programs to declare arrays of kptr, bpf_rb_root, and bpf_list_head. - Support resilient split BTF which cuts down on duplication and makes BTF as compact as possible WRT BTF from modules. - Add support for dumping kfunc prototypes from BTF which enables both detecting as well as dumping compilable prototypes for kfuncs. - riscv64 BPF JIT improvements in particular to add 12-argument support for BPF trampolines and to utilize bpf_prog_pack for the latter. - Add the capability to offload the netfilter flowtable in XDP layer through kfuncs. Driver API ---------- - Allow users to configure IRQ tresholds between which automatic IRQ moderation can choose. - Expand Power Sourcing (PoE) status with power, class and failure reason. Support setting power limits. - Track additional RSS contexts in the core, make sure configuration changes don't break them. - Support IPsec crypto offload for IPv6 ESP and IPv4 UDP-encapsulated ESP data paths. - Support updating firmware on SFP modules. Tests and tooling ----------------- - mptcp: use net/lib.sh to manage netns. - TCP-AO and TCP-MD5: replace debug prints used by tests with tracepoints. - openvswitch: make test self-contained (don't depend on OvS CLI tools). Drivers ------- - Ethernet high-speed NICs: - Broadcom (bnxt): - increase the max total outstanding PTP TX packets to 4 - add timestamping statistics support - implement netdev_queue_mgmt_ops - support new RSS context API - sysctl changes for 6.11-rc1
Summary * Remove "->procname == NULL" check when iterating through sysctl table arrays Removing sentinels in ctl_table arrays reduces the build time size and runtime memory consumed by ~64 bytes per array. With all ctl_table sentinels gone, the additional check for ->procname == NULL that worked in tandem with the ARRAY_SIZE to calculate the size of the ctl_table arrays is no longer needed and has been removed. The sysctl register functions now returns an error if a sentinel is used. * Preparation patches for sysctl constification Constifying ctl_table structs prevents the modification of proc_handler function pointers as they would reside in .rodata. The ctl_table arguments in sysctl utility functions are const qualified in preparation for a future treewide proc_handler argument constification commit. * Misc fixes Increase robustness of set_ownership by providing sane default ownership values in case the callee doesn't set them. Bound check proc_dou8vec_minmax to avoid loading buggy modules and give sysctl testing module a name to avoid compiler complaints. Testing * This got push to linux-next in v6.10-rc2, so it has had more than a month of testing -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQGzBAABCgAdFiEErkcJVyXmMSXOyyeQupfNUreWQU8FAmaWdz4ACgkQupfNUreW QU/WKQwAkSuUz42yCQye77BK+Z8ANcTF1f3aI/wfv2nahq1GaSrNBpqUiXvEe9Tt KD2lM1PWiQfizVLIDPh96yxa5q69GQrPPOA/V1jwIXmk/HRpjjoONCFNNXVRCTls VCqDz/RatuXvzO35Yn87MnWnxv6PiX7X/zq/3WikVsUI381kvTgC6OwZxdFM52w4 ESwOa3LeOovtRnqV5dpHr6DCQKyd0N52nPxgXvaerjlsJsv7PlezN7z9YyLOOfmW xUD7X6LQcJq7HcEukaB6I9o2GQOi4yYXL2YOzed7qu9Thu+lasEoN3Bd7P+ilXkc JY6EXJ5o+d69PewKRuJ1QvD7wrHIkhNMNbMtvehNay124wAHDy3KtonFzyvlX4wE qCHBYc6rySJNhSqwVp9MoksOZfDM99pVIOs9YVIjc90Zzu5J7tORgYWRVOHTcAtj fd8nMdkK3+ZANapygFCyew6GueIzaqlQwveVgLGw4vc5L3ClknmURit3y487Pzdg B+BEVlsp =bs2G -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'sysctl-6.11-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sysctl/sysctl Pull sysctl updates from Joel Granados: - Remove "->procname == NULL" check when iterating through sysctl table arrays Removing sentinels in ctl_table arrays reduces the build time size and runtime memory consumed by ~64 bytes per array. lockdep: lockdep_set_notrack_class()
Add a new helper to disable lockdep tracking entirely for a given class. This is needed for bcachefs, which takes too many btree node locks for lockdep to track. Instead, we have a single lockdep_map for "btree_trans has any btree nodes locked", which makes more since given that we have centralized lock management and a cycle detector. x86/xen: remove deprecated xen_nopvspin boot parameter
The xen_nopvspin boot parameter is deprecated since 2019. nopvspin can be used instead. Remove the xen_nopvspin boot parameter and replace the xen_pvspin variable use cases with nopvspin. This requires to move the nopvspin variable out of the .initdata section, as it needs to be accessed for cpuhotplug, too. locking/rwsem: Add __always_inline annotation to __down_write_common() and inlined callers
Apparently despite it being marked inline, the compiler may not inline __down_write_common() which makes it difficult to identify the cause of lock contention, as the wchan of the blocked function will always be listed as __down_write_common(). So add __always_inline annotation to the common function (as well as the inlined helper callers) to force it to be inlined so a more useful blocking function will be listed (via wchan). locking/local_lock: Add local nested BH locking infrastructure.
Add local_lock_nested_bh() locking. It is based on local_lock_t and the naming follows the preempt_disable_nested() example. For !PREEMPT_RT + !LOCKDEP it is a per-CPU annotation for locking assumptions based on local_bh_disable(). The macro is optimized away during compilation. For !PREEMPT_RT + LOCKDEP the local_lock_nested_bh() is reduced to the usual lock-acquire plus lockdep_assert_in_softirq() - ensuring that BH is disabled. For PREEMPT_RT local_lock_nested_bh() acquires the specified per-CPU lock. It does not disable CPU migration because it relies on local_bh_disable() disabling CPU migration. With LOCKDEP it performans the usual lockdep checks as with !PREEMPT_RT. Due to include hell the softirq check has been moved spinlock.c. The intention is to use this locking in places where locking of a per-CPU variable relies on BH being disabled. Instead of treating disabled bottom halves as a big per-CPU lock, PREEMPT_RT can use this to reduce the locking scope to what actually needs protecting. A side effect is that it also documents the protection scope of the per-CPU variables. Use try_cmpxchg(*ptr, &old, new) instead of cmpxchg(*ptr, old, new) == old in qspinlock_paravirt.h x86 CMPXCHG instruction returns success in ZF flag, so this change saves a compare after cmpxchg. locking/pvqspinlock: Use try_cmpxchg_acquire() in trylock_clear_pending()
Replace this pattern in trylock_clear_pending(): cmpxchg_acquire(*ptr, old, new) == old ... with the simpler and faster: try_cmpxchg_acquire(*ptr, &old, new) The x86 CMPXCHG instruction returns success in the ZF flag, so this change saves a compare after the CMPXCHG. locking/mutex: Introduce devm_mutex_init()
Using of devm API leads to a certain order of releasing resources. So all dependent resources which are not devm-wrapped should be deleted with respect to devm-release order. Mutex is one of such objects that often is bound to other resources and has no own devm wrapping. Since mutex_destroy() actually does nothing in non-debug builds frequently calling mutex_destroy() is just ignored which is safe for now but wrong formally and can lead to a problem if mutex_destroy() will be extended so introduce devm_mutex_init(). locking/qspinlock: Always evaluate lockevent* non-event parameter once
The 'inc' parameter of lockevent_add() and the cond parameter of lockevent_cond_inc() are only evaluated when CONFIG_LOCK_EVENT_COUNTS is on. locking/mutex: Document that mutex_unlock() is non-atomic
I have seen several cases of attempts to use mutex_unlock() to release an object such that the object can then be freed by another task. This is not safe because mutex_unlock(), in the MUTEX_FLAG_WAITERS && !MUTEX_FLAG_HANDOFF case, accesses the mutex structure after having marked it as unlocked; so mutex_unlock() requires its caller to ensure that the mutex stays alive until mutex_unlock() returns. If MUTEX_FLAG_WAITERS is set and there are real waiters, those waiters have to keep the mutex alive, but we could have a spurious MUTEX_FLAG_WAITERS left if an interruptible/killable waiter bailed between the points where __mutex_unlock_slowpath() did the cmpxchg reading the flags and where it acquired the wait_lock. ( With spinlocks, that kind of code pattern is allowed and, from what I remember, used in several places in the kernel. ) Document this, such a semantic difference between mutexes and spinlocks is fairly unintuitive. > I suspect the dodgy access is to chain_block_buckets[-1], which hits the last 4

That would mean @size == 0, at which point size_to_bucket() returns -1
and the above happens.
alloc_chain_hlocks() has 'size - req', for the first with the
precondition 'size >= rq', which allows the 0.
This code is trying to split a block, del_chain_block() takes what we
need, and add_chain_block() puts back the remainder, except in the
above case the remainder is 0 sized and things go sideways.

locking: export contention tracepoints for bcachefs six locks
The bcachefs implementation of six locks is intended to land in generic locking code in the long term, but has been pulled into the bcachefs subsystem for internal use for the time being. This code lift breaks the bcachefs module build as six locks depend a couple of the generic locking tracepoints. Export these tracepoint symbols for bcachefs. locking/lockdep: Fix string sizing bug that triggers a format-truncation compiler-warning
On an allyesconfig, with "treat warnings as errors" unset, GCC emits these warnings: kernel/locking/lockdep_proc.c:438:32: Warning: Format specifier '%lld' may be truncated when writing 1 to 17 bytes into a region of size 15 [-Wformat-truncation=] kernel/locking/lockdep_proc.c:438:31: Note: Format directive argument is in the range [-9223372036854775, 9223372036854775] kernel/locking/lockdep_proc.c:438:9: Note: 'snprintf' has output between 5 and 22 bytes into a target of size 15 In seq_time(), the longest s64 is "-9223372036854775808"-ish, which converted to the fixed-point float format is "-9223372036854775.80": 21 bytes, plus termination is another byte: 22. Therefore, a larger buffer size of 22 is needed here - not 15. The code was safe due to the snprintf(). Fix it. locktorture: Check the correct variable for allocation failure
There is a typo so this checks the wrong variable. "chains" plural vs
"chain" singular. We already know that "chains" is non-zero.

locktorture: Add call_rcu_chains module parameter
When running locktorture on large systems, there will normally be enough RCU activity to ensure that there is a grace period in flight at all times. However, on smaller systems, RCU might well be idle the majority of the time. This situation can be inconvenient in cases where the RCU CPU stall warning is part of the debugging process. This commit therefore adds an call_rcu_chains module parameter to locktorture, allowing the user to specify the desired number of self-propagating call_rcu() chains. For good measure, immediately before invoking call_rcu(), the self-propagating RCU callback invokes start_poll_synchronize_rcu() to force the immediate start of a grace period, with the call_rcu() forcing another to start shortly thereafter. Booting with locktorture.call_rcu_chains=2 increases the probability of a stuck locking primitive resulting in an RCU CPU stall warning from about 25% to nearly 100%. Signed-off-by: Paul E. locktorture: Add acq_writer_lim to complain about long acquistion times
This commit adds a locktorture.acq_writer_lim module parameter that specifies the maximum number of jiffies that is expected to be consumed by write-side lock acquisition. If this limit is exceeded, a WARN_ONCE() causes a splat. Note that this limit applies to the main lock acquisition only, not to any nested acquisitions. Signed-off-by: Paul E.
