b0ce3508b2 bonding: allow TSO being set on bonding master
In some situations, we need to disable TSO on bonding slaves.

bonding device automatically unset TSO in bond_fix_features(), and
performance is not good because :

1) We consume more cpu cycles.

2) GSO segmentation has some bugs leading to out of order TCP packets
if this segmentation is done before virtual device. This particular
problem will be addressed in a separate patch.

This patch allows TSO being set/unset on the bonding master,
so that GSO segmentation is done after bonding layer.

It seems that txq_reclaim() takes the netif tx lock:

        __netif_tx_lock(nq, smp_processor_id());

in a context outside of softirq context, and thus is susceptible to
deadlock should an interrupt occur.

Use __netif_tx_lock_bh()/__netif_tx_unlock_bh() instead.

e3d4bc8cc0 iwlwifi: mvm: fix aggregation drain flow
Move the counter for non-AMPDU frames to mvm. It is needed
for the drain flow which happens once the ieee80211_sta has
been freed, so keeping it in iwl_mvm_sta which is embed into
ieee80211_sta is not a good idea.

Also, since its purpose it to remove the STA in the fw only
after all the frames for this station have exited the shared
Tx queues, we need to decrement it in the reclaim flow. This
flow can happen after ieee80211_sta has been removed, which
means that we have no iwl_mvm_sta there. So we can't know
what is the vif type. Hence, we know audit these frames for
all the vif types.
In order to avoid spawning sta_drained_wk all the time, we
now check that we are in a flow in which draining might
happen - only when mvmsta is NULL. This is better than
previous code that would spawn sta_drained_wk all the time
in AP mode.

ba28392726 iwlwifi: mvm: Prevent setting assoc flag in MAC_CONTEXT_CMD
In the normal flow first MAC_CONTEXT_CMD for particular interface is
never sent while associated. The exception is fw restart flow when
resuming from suspend when WoWLAN is enabled. In this case successive
"add" and "modify" MAC_CONTEXT_CMD commands may be sent with assoc flag
set what cause FW mal functioning. To prevent this never set assoc flag
in MAC_CONTEXT_CMD with action "add".

51b6b9e029 iwlwifi: mvm: tell firmware to let multicast frames in
Without this command, the firmware will filter out all the
multicast frames. Let them all in as for now. Later we will
want to optimize this to save power.

f70ed7b330 iwlwifi: mvm: Always use SCAN_TYPE_FORCED
The FW AUX framework does not handle well cases where time events
fail to be scheduled (and as a result issues assert 0x3330). Until
a proper fix is in place, WA this by always setting the scan type to
SCAN_TYPE_FORCED.

1ed0d56c1d fec: Invert the order of function calls in fec_restart()
commit 54309fa6 ("net: fec: fix kernel oops when plug/unplug cable many times")
introduced the following 'if' block in the beginning of fec_start():

Then later in the end of fec_restart() there is another block that calls the
opposite of each one of these functions.

0d709d91b8 ipg: fix an unsigned widening cast of '~' truncation issue
The bug here is this code from ipg_nic_hard_start_xmit():

	txfd->tfc &= cpu_to_le64(~IPG_TFC_TFDDONE);

IPG_TFC_TFDDONE is 0x0000000080000000 so it's an unsigned int.  The
negated value is 0x7fffffff but 0xffffffff7fffffff was intended.

The other values in this file don't need to be changed but I did it for
consistency.

581df9e194 net/macb: fix ISR clear-on-write behavior only for some SoC
Commit 749a2b6 (net/macb: clear tx/rx completion flags in ISR)
introduces clear-on-write on ISR register. This behavior is not always
implemented when using Cadence MACB/GEM and is breaking other platforms.
We are using the Design Configuration Register 1 information and a capability
property to actually activate this clear-on-write behavior on ISR.

950c54df1e sfc: Reduce RX scatter buffer size, and reduce alignment if appropriate
efx_start_datapath() asserts that we can fit 2 RX scatter buffers plus
a software structure, each appropriately aligned, into a single page.
Where L1_CACHE_BYTES == 256 and PAGE_SIZE == 4096, which is the case
on s390, this assertion fails.

The current scatter buffer size is also not a multiple of 64 or 128,
which are more common cache line sizes.  If we can make both the start
and end of a scatter buffer cache-aligned, this will reduce the need
for read-modify-write operations on inter- processor links.

Fix the alignment by reducing EFX_RX_USR_BUF_SIZE to 2048 - 256 ==
1792.  (We could use 2048 - L1_CACHE_BYTES, but EFX_RX_USR_BUF_SIZE
also affects user-level networking where a larger amount of
housekeeping data may be needed.  Although this version of the driver
does not support user-level networking, I prefer to keep scattering
behaviour consistent with the out-of-tree version.)

This still doesn't fix the s390 build because like most architectures
it has NET_IP_ALIGN == 2.  When NET_IP_ALIGN != 0 we cannot achieve
cache line alignment at either the start or end of a scatter buffer,
so there is actually no point in padding the buffers to a multiple of
the cache line size.  All we need is 4-byte alignment of the network
header, so do that.

Adjust the assertions accordingly.

The two architectures that define CONFIG_HAVE_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS

The 5725 family of devices (asic rev 5762), corrupts TSO packets where
the buffer is within MSS bytes of a 4G boundary (4G, 8G etc.). Detect
this condition and trigger the workaround path.

On the 5718, 5719 and 5720 serdes devices, powering down function 0
results in all the other ports being powered down. Add code to skip
function 0 power down.

ef38079401 qlge: fix dma map leak when the last chunk is not allocated
qlge allocates chunks from a page that it maps and unmaps that page when
the last chunk is released. When the driver is unloaded or the card is
removed, all chunks are released and the page is unmapped for the last
chunk.

However, when the last chunk of a page is not allocated and the device
is removed, that page is not unmapped. In fact, its last reference is
not put and there's also a page leak. This bug prevents a device from
being properly hotplugged.

When the DMA API debug option is enabled, the following messages show
the pending DMA allocation after we remove the driver.

This patch fixes the bug by unmapping and putting the page from the ring
if its last chunk has not been allocated.

23fbb5a87c emac: Fix EMAC soft reset on 460EX/GT
Fix EMAC soft reset on 460EX/GT to select the right PHY clock source
before and after the soft reset.

EMAC with PHY should use the clock from PHY during soft reset.
EMAC without PHY should use the internal clock during soft reset.

PPC460EX/GT Embedded Processor Advanced User's Manual
section 28.10.1 Mode Register 0 (EMACx_MR0) states:
Note: The PHY must provide a TX Clk in order to perform a soft reset
of the EMAC. If none is present, select the internal clock
(SDR0_ETH_CFG[EMACx_PHY_CLK] = 1).
After a soft reset, select the external clock.

Without the fix, 460EX/GT-based boards with RGMII PHYs attached to
EMACs experience EMAC interrupt storm and system watchdog reset when
issuing "ifconfig eth0 down" + "ifconfig eth0 up" a few times.
The system enters endless loop of serving emac_irq() with EMACx_ISR
register stuck at value 0x10000000 (Rx parity error).

With the fix, the above issue is no longer observed.

4b264a1676 3c59x: fix PCI resource management
The driver wrongly claimed I/O ports at an address returned by pci_iomap() --
even if it was passed an MMIO address.  Fix this by claiming/releasing all PCI
resources in the PCI driver's probe()/remove() methods instead and get rid of
'must_free_region' flag weirdness (why would Cardbus claim anything for us?).

Currently, if macvlan in passthru mode is created and data are rxed and
you remove this device, following panic happens:

I run this script while "ping -f" is running on another machine to send
packets to e1 rx.

Reason of the panic is that list_first_entry() is blindly called in
macvlan_handle_frame() even if the list was empty. vlan is set to
incorrect pointer which leads to the crash.

I'm fixing this by protecting port->vlans list by rcu and by preventing
from getting incorrect pointer in case the list is empty.

Make sure that the following steps are taken:

- drop packets sent by the VF with vlan tag
- block packets with vlan tag which are steered to the VF
- drop/block tagged packets when the policy is priority-tagged
- make sure VLAN stripping for received packets is set
- make sure force UP bit for the VF QP is set

Use enum values for all the above instead of numerical bit offsets.

4849625569 net: fec: enable hardware checksum only on imx6q-fec
Commit 4c09eed (net: fec: Enable imx6 enet checksum acceleration.)
enables hardware checksum acceleration unconditionally for all fec
variants.  This is inappropriate, because some variants like imx5 have
no such support on hardware.  Consequently, fec is broken on these
platforms.  Fix it by enabling hardware checksum only on imx6q-fec type
of controllers.

536faa6182 qlcnic: Fix reset recovery after transmit timeout
o When transmit timeout happens, recovery attempt should start with
  adapter soft reset. If soft reset fails to resume traffic, firmware
  dump will be collected and driver will perform a hard reset of the
  adapter. Reset recovery on 83xx was failing after a hard reset.
  This patch fixes that issue.

GENERIC_GPIO now synonymous with GPIOLIB. There are no longer any valid
 cases for enableing GENERIC_GPIO without GPIOLIB, even though it is
 possible to do so which has been causing confusion and breakage. This
 branch does the work to completely eliminate GENERIC_GPIO.
 
 However, it is not trivial to just create a branch to remove it. Over
 the course of the v3.9 cycle more code referencing GENERIC_GPIO has been
 added to linux-next that conflicts with this branch. The following must
 be done to resolve the conflicts when merging this branch into mainline:
 
 * "git grep CONFIG_GENERIC_GPIO" should return 0 hits. Matches should be
   replaced with CONFIG_GPIOLIB
 * "git grep '\bGENERIC_GPIO\b'" should return 1 hit in the Chinese

ccd384b104 mwifiex: fix setting of multicast filter
A small bug in this code was causing the ALLMULTI filter to be set
when in fact we were just wanting to program a selective multicast list
to the hardware.

Fix that bug and remove a redundant if condition in the code that
follows.

This fixes wakeup behaviour when multicast WOL is enabled. Previously,
all multicast packets would wake up the system. Now, only those that the
host intended to receive trigger wakeups.

After unregister_netdevice() call the request is queued and
reg_state is changed to NETREG_UNREGISTERING.
As we check for NETREG_UNREGISTERED state, free_netdev() never

This can be readily reproduced when putting the XO-4 in a loop where
it goes to sleep due to inactivity, but then wakes up due to an
incoming ping. The error is hit within an hour or two.

This issue happens when an interrupt comes in early while host sleep
is still activated. Driver handles this case by auto cancelling host
sleep. However is_suspended flag is still set which prevents any cmd
or data from being sent to firmware. Fix it by clearing is_suspended
flag in this path.

dd9c46408f iwl4965: workaround connection regression on passive channel
Jake reported that since commit 1672c0e319
"mac80211: start auth/assoc timeout on frame status", he is unable to
connect to his AP, which is configured to use passive channel.

After switch to passive channel 4965 firmware drops any TX packet until
it receives beacon. Before commit 1672c0e3 we waited on channel and
retransmit packet after 200ms, that makes we receive beacon on the
meantime and association process succeed. New mac80211 behaviour cause
that any ASSOC frame fail immediately on iwl4965 and we can not
associate.

This patch restore old mac80211 behaviour for iwl4965, by removing
IEEE80211_HW_REPORTS_TX_ACK_STATUS feature. This feature will be
added again to iwl4965 driver, when different, more complex
workaround for this firmware issue, will be added to the driver.

73b82bf0bf B43: Handle DMA RX descriptor underrun
Add handling of rx descriptor underflow. This fixes a fault that could
happen on slow machines, where data is received faster than the CPU can
handle. In such a case the device will use up all rx descriptors and
refuse to send any more data before confirming that it is ok. This
patch enables necessary interrupt to discover such a situation and will
handle them by dropping everything in the ring buffer.

You can see oops in one hour.

The reason is fec_restart clear BD but NAPI may use it.
The solution is disable NAPI and stop xmit when reset BD.
disable NAPI may sleep, so fec_restart can't be call in
atomic context.

The driver and firmware sync up through SYNC messages, and the
firmware's affirmative reply to these SYNC messages appears to be the
"Reset" indication received via the status interrupt endpoint.  Thus the
driver needs the status interrupt endpoint always active so that the
Reset indication can be received even if the netdev is closed, which is
the case right after device insertion.

If the Reset indication is not received by the driver, it continues
sending SYNC messages to the firmware, which crashes about 10 seconds
later and the device stops responding.

6eecdc5f95 usbnet: allow status interrupt URB to always be active
Some drivers (sierra_net) need the status interrupt URB
active even when the device is closed, because they receive
custom indications from firmware.  Add functions to refcount
the status interrupt URB submit/kill operation so that
sub-drivers and the generic driver don't fight over whether
the status interrupt URB is active or not.

A sub-driver can call usbnet_status_start() at any time, but
the URB is only submitted the first time the function is
called.  Likewise, when the sub-driver is done with the URB,
it calls usbnet_status_stop() but the URB is only killed when
all users have stopped it.  The URB is still killed and
re-submitted for suspend/resume, as before, with the same
refcount it had at suspend.

3f5dffe61a be2net: fix EQ from getting full while cleaning RX CQ
While cleaning RX queues, the CQ DB may be rung several times (with rearm)
while waiting for the flush compl. Each CQ-notify with rearm can result in
an event. The EQ may get full resulting in a HW error.

Fix this by not re-arming the CQ while notifying a valid completion.
Also, there's no need to wait for 1ms after destroying RXQ, as the code in
be_rx_cq_clean() waits for the flush compl to arrive.

bf591f51a5 be2net: fix payload_len value for GET_MAC_LIST cmd req
The buffer size for a FW cmd request must be big enough to fit the response,
else the cmd fails. For GET_MAC_LIST cmd, though the memory allocated for
the cmd is big enough to fit the response, the payload_len value in the
WRB hdr is being set to the request length only.
Fix this for GET_MAC_LIST cmd.

b4c1df9378 be2net: provision VF resources before enabling SR-IOV
When the PF driver calls pci_enable_sriov(), the VFs may be probed
inline before the call returns. So, the resources required for all VFs
must be provisioned by the PF driver *before* calling pci_enable_sriov();
else, VF probe will fail.

c81400be71 3c59x: fix freeing nonexistent resource on driver unload
When unloading the driver that drives an EISA board, a message similar to the
following one is displayed:

Trying to free nonexistent resource <0000000000013000-000000000001301f>

Then an user is unable to reload the driver because the resource it requested in
the previous load hasn't been freed. This happens most probably due to a typo in
vortex_eisa_remove() which calls release_region() with 'dev->base_addr'  instead
of 'edev->base_addr'...

13f85203e1 net/eth/ibmveth: Fixup retrieval of MAC address
Some ancient pHyp versions used to create a 8 bytes local-mac-address
property in the device-tree instead of a 6 bytes one for veth.

The Linux driver code to deal with that is an insane hack which also
happens to break with some choices of MAC addresses in qemu by testing
for a bit in the address rather than just looking at the size of the
property.

Sanitize this by doing the latter instead.

Since commit 636f9d371f ("cxgb4: Add
support for T4 configuration file"), t4_fw_hello may return a positive
value instead of 0 for success. The recovery code tests only for zero
and fails recovery for any other value.

This fix tests for negative error values and fails only on those cases.
Error recovery after an error injection works after this change.

88dccf5b34 sky2: Fix crash on receiving VLAN frames
After recent 86a9bad3 (net: vlan: add protocol argument to packet
tagging functions) my sky2 started to crash on receive of tagged
frames, with backtrace similar to

    #CRASH!!!

    __netif_receive_skb
    netif_receive_skb
    sky2_poll
    ...
    __net_rx_action
    __do_softirq

The problem turned out to be:

    1) sky2 copies small packets from ring on RX, and in its
       receive_copy() skb header is copied manually field, by field, and
       only for some fields;

    2) 86a9bad3  added skb->vlan_proto, which vlan_untag() or
       __vlan_hwaccel_put_tag() set, and which is later used in
       vlan_do_receive().

       That patch updated copy_skb_header() for newly introduced
       skb->vlan_proto, but overlooked the need to also copy it in sky2's
       receive_copy().

Because of 2, we have the following scenario:

    - frame is received and tagged in a ring, by sky2_rx_tag(). Both
      skb->vlan_proto and skb->vlan_tci are set;

    - later skb is decided to be copied, but skb->vlan_proto is
      forgotten and becomes 0.

    - in the beginning of vlan_do_receive() we call

        __be16 vlan_proto = skb->vlan_proto;
        vlan_dev = vlan_find_dev(skb->dev, vlan_proto, vlan_id);

      which eventually invokes

        vlan_proto_idx(vlan_proto)

      and that routine BUGs for everything except ETH_P_8021Q and
      ETH_P_8021AD.

      Oops.

Fix it.

Stephen, I wonder, why copy_skb_header() is not used in
sky2.c::receive_copy() ? Problems, where receive_copy was updated field
by field showed several times already, e.g.

It is easily reproducable by setting an MTU of 512 e. g. and sending
something like

from another box.

And this is because the rx->ax_skb is freed on error, but rx->ax_skb
is not reset, and the size is not reset to zero in this case.

And since the skb is added again to the usbnet->done skb queue it is
accessing already freed memory, resulting in the BUG when freeing a
2nd time.  I therefore think the value 0x0000004000000001 show in the
trace is more or less random data.

af5c6df704 drivers: net: cpsw: irq not disabled in cpsw isr in particular sequence
In CPSW NAPI, after processing all interrupts IRQ is enabled and then book
keeping irq_enabled is updated. In random cases when a packet is transmitted
or received between processing packets and IRQ enabled, then just after
enabled IRQ and before irq_enabled is updated, ISR is called so IRQs are
not disabled as irq_enabled is still false and CPU gets locked in CPSW ISR.

By changing the sequence as update the irq_enabled and then enable IRQ
fixes the issue. This issue is not captured always as it is a timing issue
whether Tx or Rx IRQ is invoked between packet processing and enable IRQ.

In this patch we have:

  MAX_SKB_SLOTS_DEFAULT -> FATAL_SKB_SLOTS_DEFAULT
  max_skb_slots -> fatal_skb_slots
  #define XEN_NETBK_LEGACY_SLOTS_MAX XEN_NETIF_NR_SLOTS_MIN

The fatal_skb_slots is the threshold to determine whether a packet is
malicious.

XEN_NETBK_LEGACY_SLOTS_MAX is the maximum slots a valid packet can have at
this point. It is defined to be XEN_NETIF_NR_SLOTS_MIN because that's
guaranteed to be supported by all backends.

c539914dcd tile: support new Tilera hypervisor
The Tilera hypervisor shipped in releases up through MDE 4.1 launches
the client operating system (i.e. Linux) at privilege level 1 (PL1).
Starting with MDE 4.2, as part of the work to enable KVM, the
Tilera hypervisor launches Linux at PL2 instead.

This commit makes the KERNEL_PL option default to 2 for tilegx, while
still saying at 1 for tilepro, which doesn't have an updated hypervisor.
It also explains how and when you might want to choose another value.
In addition, we change a small buglet in the on-chip Ethernet driver,
where we were failing to use the KERNEL_PL constant in an API call.

To make the transition cleaner, this change also provides the updated
hv_init() API for the new hypervisor that supports announcing Linux's
compiled-in PL, so the hypervisor can generate a suitable error in the
case of a mismatched hypervisor and Linux binary.

b0261926ef bnx2x: correct reading of speed capabilities
When the bnx2x driver reads the port configuration - mask irrelevant bits.

Without this change, the unintended bits may cause the driver to needlessly
toggle the link, as a comparison in the link flap avoidance flow will show
that the old link did not advertise the same capabilities and thus cannot
be retained.

7b6b99a02a ethernet/emac/sysrq: fix inconstistent help message of sysrq key
Currently help message of /proc/sysrq-trigger highlight its upper-case
characters, like below:

      SysRq : HELP : loglevel(0-9) reBoot Crash terminate-all-tasks(E)
      memory-full-oom-kill(F) kill-all-tasks(I) ...

this would confuse user trigger sysrq by upper-case character, which is
inconsistent with the real lower-case character registed key.

This inconsistent help message will also lead more confused when
26 upper-case letters put into use in future.

("bnx2x: allow nvram test to run when device is down").

Since it makes access to the device in D3 state possible.
More work is required to make sure device is not set to D3
during ifdown. Until this is done the nvram-test should simply
exit if device is down like it did before.

On Renesas R-Car based development boards, although a MAC address is printed on
all the Ethernet port labels, U-Boot  doesn't write a valid MAC address  to the

either), so we have to resort to using a random MAC address...

The venerable 3c509 driver only sets its device parent in one case, the ISAPnP one.
It does this with the SET_NETDEV_DEV function. It should register with the device
hierarchy in two additional cases: standard (non-PnP) ISA and EISA.

- Currently they appear here:
/sys/devices/virtual/net/eth0 (standard ISA)
/sys/devices/virtual/net/eth1 (EISA)

- Rather, they should instead be here:
/sys/devices/isa/3c509.0/net/eth0 (standard ISA)

00ca8f0c9d hyperv: Fix a compiler warning in netvsc_send()
Fixed: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size

The Hyper-V hosts always use 64 bit request id. The guests can have 32 or 64
bit pointers which equal to the ulong type size. So we cast it to ulong type.
And, assigning 32bit integer to 64 bit variable works fine.

The VMBus returns the same id in the completion packet. But the value has no
effect on the host side.

323b34963d drivers: net: usb: pegasus: fix control urb submission
Pegasus driver used single callback for sync and async control URBs.
Special flags were employed to distinguish between both, but due to flawed
logic it didn't always work.  As a result of this change
[get|set]_registers() are now much simpler.  Async write is also leaner
and does not use single, statically allocated memory for usb_ctrlrequest,
which is another potential race when asynchronously submitting URBs.

73cf331706 vxlan: fix byte order issues with NDA_PORT
The NDA_PORT attribute was added, but the author wasn't careful
about width (port is 16 bits), or byte order.  The attribute was
being dumped as 16 bits, but only 32 bit value would be accepted
when setting up a device. Also, the remote port is in network
byte order and was being compared with default port in host byte
order.

Richard provides a fix for e1000e by using a helper function from time.h

Bruce provides a fix to wait for NAPI to be done with the current context
after disabling interrupts and then disable NAPI when the interface
is going down.  This fixes a possible "unable to handle kernel paging
request" panic in net-next.

Andi Kleen provides a patch for igb to use mdelay instead of udelay
when we needed 100000us.

Jacob provides a fix for ixgbe to simply mask the lower 16bits off so that
ixgbe_msix_other does not write them in the EICR, which causes them to
remain high and be properly handled by the clean_rings interrupt routine
as normal.

Emil cleans up the logic in ixgbe_setup_loopback_test() to only access
registers applicable to the MAC type.  In addition, removes majority
of the AUTOC register reads by using a cached value instead to avoid
writing corrupted values to AUTOC due to bad FW.  Emil also add support
for disabling link during boot time.  Lastly, he provides a patch which
adds the MAC type to the version in ethtool_regs which will make it
easier to check the MAC type when dumping registers with ethtool.

There is a separate ethtool tool patch which is dependent upon Emil's
last patch of the series to add the MAC type to the version in
ethtool_regs, which will be sent separately.

3f7fb021d0 net/mlx4: Add set VF default vlan ID and priority support
Add support to ndo_set_vf_vlan in the driver. Once this call is used the vport
is considered to be in VST mode. In this mode, the PPF driver configures
Ethernet QPs created by this VF to use this vlan id and priority. Currently
RoCE isn't supported on that mode.

The special values of VID=4095 or VID=0,UP=0 are considered as VGT.

This patch add struct mlx4_vport_state where all the parameters related
to management of VFs port (virtual ports of the NIC eswitch) are kept.

The driver keeps an administrative and operational copy of the settings.
The current administrative copy becomes operational on the event of probing
a VF either on a VM or on the host.

be needed for cases where a mac is registered from more than once, e.g

c4a56de88c ixgbe: add mac type to the version in ethtool_regs
This patch adds the mac type to the version in ethtool_regs.

This will make it easier to check the mac type when dumping registers with
ethtool. The drawback of this is that older versions of ethtool will only
be able to dump in hex format for 82599 and above  when used with the updated
driver.

26b4742bea ixgbe: fix register access during ethtool loopback test
This patch cleans up the logic in ixgbe_setup_loopback_test() to only access
registers applicable to the MAC type. AUTOC is only valid on MACs older than
X540. MACC is used for X540.

In addition it removes a read of AUTOC and uses the stored value to force the
link up.

d87d830720 ixgbe: fix EICR write in ixgbe_msix_other
Previously, the ixgbe_msix_other was writing the full 32bits of the set
interrupts, instead of only the ones which the ixgbe_msix_other is
handling. This resulted in a loss of performance when the X540's PPS feature is
enabled due to sometimes clearing queue interrupts which resulted in the driver
not getting the interrupt for cleaning the q_vector rings often enough. The fix
is to simply mask the lower 16bits off so that this handler does not write them
in the EICR, which causes them to remain high and be properly handled by the
clean_rings interrupt routine as normal.

An "unable to handle kernel paging request" panic can occur when receiving
traffic while the interface is going down.  Wait for NAPI to be done with
current context after disabling interrupts and then disable NAPI.

73e3dd6b45 e1000e: fix numeric overflow in phc settime method
The PTP Hardware Clock settime function in the e1000e driver
computes nanoseconds from a struct timespec. The code converts the
seconds field .tv_sec by multiplying it with NSEC_PER_SEC. However,
both operands are of type long, resulting in an unintended overflow.
The patch fixes the issue by using the helper function from time.h.

a11fbba9a7 net/cpsw: fix irq_disable() with threaded interrupts
During high throughput it is likely that we receive both: an RX and TX
interrupt. The normal behaviour is that once we enter the ISR the
interrupts are disabled in the IRQ chip and so the ISR is invoked only
once and the interrupt line is disabled once. It will be re-enabled
after napi completes.
With threaded interrupts on the other hand the interrupt the interrupt
is disabled immediately and the ISR is marked for "later". By having TX
and RX interrupt marked pending we invoke them both and disable the
interrupt line twice. The napi callback is still executed once and so
after it completes we remain with interrupts disabled.

The initial patch simply removed the cpsw_{enable|disable}_irq() calls
and it worked well on my AM335X ES1.0 (beagle bone). On ES2.0 (beagle
bone black) it caused an never ending interrupt (even after the mask via
cpsw_intr_disable()) according to Mugunthan V N. Since I don't have the
ES2.0 and no idea what is going on this patch tracks the state of the
irq_disable() call and execute it only when not yet done.
The book keeping is done on the first struct since with dual_emac we can
have two of those and only one interrupt line.

d1bd9acfa3 net/cpsw: make sure modules remove does not leak any ressources
This driver does not clean up properly after leaving. Here is a list:
- Use unregister_netdev(). free_netdev() is good but not enough
- Use the above also on the other ndev in case of dual mac
- Free data.slave_data. The name of the strucre makes it look like
  it is platform_data but it is not. It is just a trick!
- Free all irqs. Again: freeing one irq is good start, but freeing all
  of them is better.

With this rmmod & modprobe of cpsw seems to work. The remaining issue
is:

b4727e69b8 net/cpsw: redo rx skb allocation in rx path
In case that we run into OOM during the allocation of the new rx-skb we
don't get one and we have one skb less than we used to have. If this
continues to happen then we end up with no rx-skbs at all.
This patch changes the following:
- if we fail to allocate the new skb, then we treat the currently
  completed skb as the new one and so drop the currently received data.
- instead of testing multiple times if the device is gone we rely one
  the status field which is set to -ENOSYS in case the channel is going
  down and incomplete requests are purged.
  cpdma_chan_stop() removes most of the packages with -ENOSYS. The
  currently active packet which is removed has the "tear down" bit set.
  So if that bit is set, we send ENOSYS as well otherwise we pass the
  status bits which are required to figure out which of the two possible
  just finished.

fd51cf1994 net/cpsw: don't rely only on netif_running() to check which device is active
netif_running() reports false before the ->ndo_stop() callback is
called. That means if one executes "ifconfig down" and the system
receives an interrupt before the interrupt source has been disabled we
hang for always for two reasons:
- we never disable the interrupt source because devices claim to be
  already inactive and don't feel responsible.
- since the ISR always reports IRQ_HANDLED the line is never deactivated
  because it looks like the ISR feels responsible.

This patch changes the logic in the ISR a little:
- If none of the status registers reports an active source (RX or TX,
  misc is ignored because it is not actived) we leave with IRQ_NONE.
- the interrupt is deactivated
- The first active network device is taken and napi is scheduled. If
  none are active (a small race window between ndo_down() and the
  interrupt the) then we leave and should not come back because the
  source is off.
  There is no need to schedule the second NAPI because both share the
  same dma queue.

aacebbf802 net/cpsw: don't continue if we miss to allocate rx skbs
if during "ifconfig up" we run out of mem we continue regardless how
many skbs we got. In worst case we have zero RX skbs and can't ever
receive further packets since the RX skbs are never reallocated. If
cpdma_chan_submit() fails we even leak the skb.
This patch changes the behavior here:
If we fail to allocate an skb during bring up we don't continue and
report that error. Same goes for errors from cpdma_chan_submit().
While here I changed to __netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align() so GFP_KERNEL can
be used.

817f6d1a13 net/davinci_cpdma: don't check for jiffies with interrupts
__cpdma_chan_process() holds the lock with interrupts off (and its
caller as well), same goes for cpdma_ctlr_start(). With interrupts off,
jiffies will not make any progress and if the wait condition never gets
true we wait for ever.
Tgis patch adds a a simple udelay and counting down attempt.

0eb43b4bb0 bnx2x, bnx2fc: Use per port max exchange resources
The firmware supports a maximum of 4K FCoE exchanges. In 4-port devices,
or when working in multi-function mode, this resource needs to be distributed
between the various possible FCoE functions.

This information needs to be calculated by bnx2x and propagated into bnx2fc
via cnic. bnx2fc can then use this value to calculate corresponding xid
resources instead of using global constants.

I didn't account for the use of curr_active_slave without curr_slave_lock
and since there are such users, we should hold bond->lock for writing while
setting it to NULL (in the NULL case we don't need the curr_slave_lock).
Keeping the bond lock as to avoid the extra release/acquire cycle.

ecf01c22be bnx2x: Prevent NULL pointer dereference in kdump
In scenarios in which a previous driver was removed without proper cleanup
(e.g., kdump), it is possible for the chip to generate an interrupt without
any apparent reason once interrupts are requested.

Due to an erroneous initialization of resources, some of the bnx2x structs
which are required for interrupt handling are initialized only after an
interface's interrupt is requested from the OS.

As a result, once such a spurious interrupt occurs, it will cause a NULL
pointer dereference - the driver will access those structs in its interrupt
handling routine.

This patch change the interrupt request scheme so that bnx2x would only
request interrupts from the kernel after it has finished initializing
all the inner structs required for interrupt handling.

e8dbad66ef tuntap: correct the return value in tun_set_iff()
commit (3be8fbab tuntap: fix error return code in tun_set_iff()) breaks the
creation of multiqueue tuntap since it forbids to create more than one queues
for a multiqueue tuntap device. We need return 0 instead -EBUSY here since we
don't want to re-initialize the device when one or more queues has been already
attached. Add a comment and correct the return value to zero.

cd4baaaa04 gianfar: do not advertise any alarm capability.
An early draft of the PHC patch series included an alarm in the
gianfar driver. During the review process, the alarm code was dropped,
but the capability removal was overlooked. This patch fixes the issue
by advertising zero alarms.

This patch should be applied to every 3.x stable kernel.

89cc80a44b sfc: Fix naming of MTD partitions for FPGA bitfiles
efx_mcdi_get_board_cfg() uses a buffer for the firmware response that
is only large enough to hold subtypes for the originally defined set
of NVRAM partitions.  Longer responses are truncated, and we may read
off the end of the buffer when copying out subtypes for additional
partitions.  In particular, this can result in the MTD partition for
an FPGA bitfile being named e.g. 'eth5 sfc_fpga:00' when it should be
'eth5 sfc_fpga:01'.  This means the firmware update tool (sfupdate)
can't tell which bitfile should be written to the partition.

Correct the response buffer size.

6f3dc319ec igb: Retain HW VLAN filtering while in promiscuous + VT mode
When using the new bridge FDB interface to allow SR-IOV virtual function
network devices to communicate with SW bridged network devices the
physical function is placed into promiscuous mode and hardware VLAN
filtering is disabled.  This defeats the ability to use VLAN tagging
to isolate user networks.  When the device is in promiscuous mode and
VT mode simultaneously ensure that VLAN hardware filtering remains
enabled.
